OrangePeel
I want to build a deck around Skill Drain but not have to rely on it. What type of theme would work well with it?

chaoserver
Ontop of what azuh said, magestic mech ohka/mist archfiend. Also they work excellent with darkworld as their effects aren't field effects.

chaoserver
Panther warrior? Running a gene warped make more sense. In skill drain decks the idea is to beat down like crazy, even if you dont have skill drain on the field. Final attack order, cyber dragons(effect isn't on field), ohka(activate drain during end phase and he isn't destroyed),goblin elite, chainsaw insect, solemns(to negate anything that saves the opponent from game, or a card to kill skill drain), darkworld(usually standard DW with these subbed in). The ideas nice. Cancel your monsters bad effects while cancelling your opponent's good effect.
JerryFreelance
Don't forget Giant Kozaky Talk to d-day about this... He has a decent Skill Drain deck...
Quagmire_jr
make a deck based on skill drain and normal monsters. there are many cards that say stuff like normal monsters cant b effected by spell cards and such. then if u sue it with skill drain, effect monsters would b useless and normal monsters would rule!!!
