Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul

Episode 103: The Nature of the Blue-Eyes

Kaibaman: 4000 Sol: 4000

"Allow me the first move, hero boy," said Sol, "I play Pandemonium (Field Spell Card-Neither player has to pay Life Points for an Archfiend. If an Archfiend is destroyed outside of battle, that player can add an Archfiend with fewer stars than the destroyed one from their Deck to their hand)." "Interesting," said Kaibaman, "You must use an Archfiend Deck, am I right?" "You’ll see," said Sol, "I play Dual Summon (Spell Card you are allowed two Normal Summons this turn). Now I summon Infernalqueen Archfiend (4/900/1500-Dark-Fiend/Effect-This card’s controller pays 500 Life Points at each of their Standby Phases. If this card is targeted by a card effect, roll a die. If it lands on 2 or 5, negate and destroy the card. While this card is on the field, increase the ATK of one Archfiend on the field by 1000 until the End Phase), and then, Terrorking Archfiend (4/2000/1500-Dark-Fiend/Effect-If there are no other Archfiends on your side of the field, this card cannot be Normal or Reverse Summoned. This card’s controller pays 800 Life Points at each of their Standby Phases. If this card is targeted by a card effect, roll a die. If it lands on 2 or 5, negate and destroy the card. The effects of Effect Monsters destroyed by this card during the Battle Phase are negated)."

"Are you done?" asked Kaibaman, "If so, I’d like to take my turn." "Don’t think of using Spells or Traps to destroy them," said Sol, "You see, this skull die is the key to my fiend’s protection. If it lands on a 2 or a 5, it negates it." "I won’t need cards to destroy them," said Kaibaman, "I set one card face-down. And then I activate White Dragon Ritual (Ritual Spell Card-Summon Paladin of White Dragon by discarding monsters whose Level Stars equal 4 or more). I give up Spear Dragon in order to summon Paladin of White Dragon (4/1900/1200-Light-Dragon/Ritual/Effect-This Monster can only be summoned by White Dragon Ritual. When this card destroys a face-down Monster, it is instantly destroyed, without flipping it over. Tribute this card during your Main Phase to summon 1 Blue-Eyes White Dragon. It cannot attack this turn). Now it attacks your Queen! Ionic Spear Burst!"

Sol: 3000

"That’s not so bad," said Sol. "I now give up my Paladin to summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon (8/3000/2500-Light-Dragon)," said Kaibaman, "Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait and see it in action. I reveal Mischief of the Time Goddess (Quick-Play Spell Card-Skip to your next Battle Phase)." "What?" gasped Sol. "It allows me to fast forward the duel to my next Battle Phase," said Kaibaman, "Which means I can attack your Terrorking! Burst Stream!"

Sol: 2000

"You seem skilled with the White Dragon," said Sol. "Of course," said Kaibaman, "Don’t think that Kenneth learned how to play his Blue-Eyes cards on his own. Every card based on this magnificent dragon is connected to my very spirit. That is why we are partners." "That won’t save you," said Sol, as Terrorking returned to the field.

Back at the village, Jessica was bandaging some of the injured villagers. "You’ll be okay," she said. One of the men said, "You are truly an angel among humans, milady." Jessica smiled. Vanessa was helping Hikaru with the building. "For giant ants," said Hikaru, "They are very good with materials." He was refering to a couple of Soldier Ants. "They’re also carpenter ants," said Vanessa. Kenneth and Logan were dealing with planting a fresh crop for the next harvest. "That’s pretty good," said a farmer. "My mom asks me to do this sort of stuff all the time," said Kenneth. "Sure hope it springs up soon," said Logan, "I’m starving. I wonder how Redd is doing?" Kenneth was deep in thought.

Back at the duel site, Kaibaman was surprised. "How did your Archfiend return?" "Simple," said Sol, "I discarded Desrook Archfiend from my hand the moment my Terrorking was destroyed. I was added to my hand when I lost my Queen. I added another Fiend to my hand when you destroyed my King. All thanks to Pandemonium." No matter," said Kaibaman, "I play a card face-down on the field. Turn End." "Do what you will," said Sol, "I am the most powerful of the Demonic Trio. And with this Deck, I will carry on the spirit of the mighty Archfiends. And you and all who stand against us will fall!"

-break: Kaibaman with Blue-Eyes White Dragon

-return: Sol with Terrorking Archfiend

"I tribute my king to summon Skull Archfiend of Lightning (6/2500/1200-Dark-Fiend/Effect-This card’s controller pays 500 Life Points at each of their Standby Phases. If this card is targeted by a card effect, roll a die. If it lands on 1, 3, or 6, negate and destroy the card)," said Sol, "And then I’ll give you it’s first strike. Lightning Vortex (Spell Card-Discard 1 card from your hand. Destroy all Monsters on your opponent’s side of the field)! All I need do is dispose of a card in my hand and you lose your dragon!" Kaibaman shielded himself from the lightning blast, first from the Spell Card, and then from the Archfiend’s attack.

Kaibaman: 1500

"You’re finished!" yelled Sol, "Blue-Eyes is gone!" Kaibaman grinned and revealed two others in his hand. "More?" gasped Sol. "I have three of them," said Kaibaman, "Like on the human plane, there are only 4 of them, and Kenneth has the fourth, which I created from my soul." "Take your turn," said Sol. "I activate Birthright (Continuous Trap Card-Special Summon 1 Normal Monster from your Graveyard and equip with this card. When this card is destroyed, destroy the monster) to summon back my Blue-Eyes!" said Kaibaman. "That’s not enough to beat me," said Sol, "I can counterattack next turn."

"I wouldn’t be so sure," said Kaibaman, "I play Polymerization (Spell Card-Fuse 2 or more Fusion Material Monsters to summon a Fusion Monster). I fuse all three of my Blue-Eyes White Dragons into the mighty Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (12/4500/3800-Light-Dragon/Fusion)!"

Back at the village, Kenneth heard a loud roar. "What’s that?" asked Vanessa. "It’s Kaibaman," said Kenneth, "He’s dealing with the Archfiend Soldier, and I think he’s about to win." "The Ultimate Dragon," Rion said in awe, "No wonder the people of this village trust him to protect them." "He’s a great guy," said Kenneth, "He helped me gain my armor, and some of my best cards." He then looked at his Blue-Eyes Neos card.

"Impossible," said Sol, "I am the master of Archfiends." "This is the end," said Kaibaman, "After this, you will never harm this village again! Ultimate Dragon, attack with Neutron Blast!"

Sol: 0

Sol screamed as he faded away. ‘Kenneth,’ thought Kaibaman, ‘I’ve guided him through his growth in every way I could. Ever since the duel with my human counterpart, I’ve sensed that he has become a powerful duelist. Eventually, I will fall to Xin and his minions, and when that happens, I can trust him to be able to carry on without me. I have nothing more to teach him.’ He then walked back to the village.

Reyna woke up to see everyone gathered around her. "What happened?" she asked. "Long story," said Kenneth, "But right now, we need to get started." "I know," said Reyna, "The Crystal Beasts told me everything. Ian needs our help, right?" "That’s right," said Hikaru. "We all need to look for him," said Jessica. "Then let’s get started," said Kaibaman as he arrived.

As the group prepared to leave, Kaibaman said, "Rion. Tara. I don’t know how this will end, but if I don’t make it back, you are both in charge of protecting this village." "Thank you sir," said Tara. "We will not let you down," said Rion. The elder said, "Much luck to you young ones. Be careful on your journey. And thank you for helping us." "No problem old man," said Kenneth, "Let’s go guys." "Hold on," said a distant voice. It was the Dark Red Enchanter, better known as Redd, "Allow me to go with you. I wish to make amends for the horrible things I’ve done." "Sure," said Reyna, "You can come with us." The group began to leave, as the villagers gave them a send off.

Back at Xin’s castle, Xin was preparing the furnace. "Soon," he said, "The Philosopher’s Stone will be mine. And with it, both Worlds. And while he won’t except it, Brandon is destined to rule by my side." "Master Xin," said Fried Rice, "Most of our grunts were defeated during the siege on the village. How do you propose we obtain the girl contracted with the Rainbow Dragon?" "Well Fried Rice," said Xin, "As you are aware, I have a ways to make others work for me. Sometimes the more stubborn ones require the control of the Black Cards and my Shadow Medallion. But there are some people who require something I can grant them. For some, fame. Fir some, power. For most, money. But there are rare occasions where I grant them something more important than all three. And as for you, if you bring the girl to me, I will reward you with what you have lost. Do you understand?" Ian stepped in front of Xin, wearing black, button-down, sleeveless shirt. He said, "Yes," as he adjusted his glasses.

To Be Continued.
