End Of The Abyss
Hello everyone! I'm gonna teach you from making custom card images. These card images are the cards that have the background aura. Let me find an example. See how the person has a green aura around him? That's how we'll make this custom card image. .Step 1. Go to a popular render website to find your render. Today, I'll be using planetrenders.com, and here is the render I'll be using. View it in full size and save it as PNG Image. .Step 2. Open up Photoshop (I'm using Photoshop 7.0) and open up the image. Select the part of the image represented in the picture.
Then, go to Edit and Select Copy. .Step 3. Open a New, and the pixels should be prepared for the copied image. Once the new is opened, press Ctrl and V to Paste the image, or go to Edit > Paste.
.Step 4. Then, select the paint bucket tool. Make the color a very light shade of blue. Place it over the image and keep pressing, and the image should turn blue. (Not the background.)
.Step 5. Next, open up Internet Explorer or FireFox. Go to Google and search "blue backgrounds" in Images. I'll be using this image as my background. Go to Files > New and set it to these settings. Then, go to your background image that you found on Google and copy it. Paste it onto that small square. Then, copy your COMPLETELY BLUE render and paste it onto your background.
.Step 6. Make sure you have this window open. Go to Image > Image Size, and decrease the measurments my 10 pixels. Copy this image and paste it to this image.
.Step 7. Time for the finishing touches. To make the the blur faint, but nice, go to Filters > Blur > Motion Blur. Make the angle 4 Degrees, and your finished picture should look like such: And there you go, a Custom Card Image, with a Realistic touch. ^_^ ~Swift
Judαs
Awesome tutorial, very well explained too. But did you know about the "Outer Glow" thing? If you did this so that you could customize the glow more, like you did with Motion Blur, then it's fine ^_^
End Of The Abyss
I don't think I have Outer Glow in Photoshop 7.0 But thank you, Touma.
Judαs
You can do it using Photoshop 7.0, like this: 1. You've to go to the Layer's Blending Options by double clicking on the layer's bar.2. Check the option saying "Outer Glow", and click on its bar. You can now customize the glow ^_^ But don't edit the tut now, it's good the way it is ^_^
+Jono
Spirit you forgot, to do Motion Blur Outer Glows you must first make a duplicate of your render, then on the bottom one apply an Outer Glow. Then use Motion Blur to customise the glow to flow with the render.
