JyShin
Hey again~!As promised, I made a second image design, also completely from scratch. It didn't turn out as sharp as my other one... So I'm kind of dissapointed with it. But might as well post it anyways. I also entered it in Deity Mitsu's City Streets competition. Hope you like it more than I do. I posted two variants, my original one, and my attempt of adding flare to make it look holographic. Didn't work so well... Haha Name : Venom AssassinBooster Name : Stealth AssaultEffect : Once per turn, you may select 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field that is not already under Venom Assassin's effect. As long as the selected monster remains on the field, inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points during each of their End Phases. And that's it.. The process involved scanning my sketch and using Photoshop to colour it. Total work time was approximately 6 hours broken down, however I was kind of busy lately, so I put it off for awhile which resulted in slower progress. Tell me what you think though. As usual, advice/criticsm is welcomed! You can also view my last project here : http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/showthread.php?tid=7008 Thanks for your time,JyShin

JyShin
Ahaha, thanks very much~! My sparkly technique is very different from Jedite's, frankly, his is probably better. So you should learn his and beat me at my own game Thanks for your comment!

Silent Member
can you make a tutorial of how to do something like this
JyShin
Hmmm... That's a good idea. The only problem, is that it takes an extremely long time to make an image, let alone cover the process required. However, I may consider making one in the future. For now, try deviantart for CG rendering tutorials, they probably have some. And those would be of much higher quality than one I would make. tehodis
The anatomy is a little off. The arms are too thin, and the head is a little too large. The neck is a little too thick, and his left arm is either too short, or has an odd contraction in the middle that looks like it could be a wrist. I love your fabric though. 6.9/10 I think you do beasts better than humans.
Soul Immortal
Yeah if I had a scanner I'd show you up! But since I don't I'll shut up HAH
JyShin
Thanks Tehodis for your honest critique. I've never been a fan of realism art haha, that's why I tend to do anime-ish styles that are not really proportional, like the artwork in animes such as clamp style with the really long leg/body proportion, cept mine is big heads! ^ ^ I'm not much of a sketcher anyways, i'm practicing to improve my colouring at the moment, and perhaps I'll learn realism and proper proportions in the future! Haha I'm sure you are a very sketcher, should invest in a cheap, single purpose scanner~!

I do a more cartoonish style, bordering on the edge of cartoon and anime with a touch of realism, but I still try my best to make my anatomy as correct as possible, because otherwise it doesn't have the same look or effect. And CLAMP does not have an elongated leg style, I looked through all of my CLAMP mangas (I have alot, yay CLAMP!) and they're anatomy is very accurate. JyShin
That's true, I suppose I should learn proper anatomy in my art sometime... Though I've never been great at it as you've already pointed out. ^ ^; And, as for the clamp stuff, a lot of the artwork for there projects such as X Holic have elongated arms and legs in there work. After I can get a realistic shading/colour toning, I'll move onto realistic figure drawing~!
tehodis
More about CLAMP; They're not elongated though. It's correct proportions for the height of the person.
JyShin
Well, some of the artwork for characters such as Yuko involves much longer than normal hands and fingers, and even at their height it wouldn't be.. exactly "ideal anatomy".What I'm trying to say is that... Not all figure artwork need to be proportional, because sometimes that's what makes them interesting. Anyways, I do realize I lacked the proper proportions, and it wasn't exactly intentional = = Just happens when I do sketches hahaBut I agree beasts suit me more since they're easier (as in they can be done anyway/style, though I believe human figures can be done just as so) but... that just means I have to practice human figures more~!
