Huntar!
What is mini-modding? What is backseat modding? Ok.. To my knowledge, mini-modding is the act of asking someone to stop it when they do wrong, enforcing the rules while not being a moderator, informing someone of rules while not being a moderator, and possibly reporting a darn thread or post that was innapopriate. I ask if the intention of those who do this, not knowing that they break rules, they just want to help, for the good of the site and its members. The moderators usually say, dont comment, just report it and we'll get there eventually. But, what if there aren't mods around, and something happens, maybe a porn spammer, or alot of random spammers, hackers, or just everyday rulebreakers. What are the regular members to do? Sit back and watch the show? Watch things happen to the site in which they enjoy and come to oftenly? Or do they do some form of action, either asking to stop, informing them of the site rules, or anything of the such? There is usually some moderator online, but one moderator cant do anything if its outside their forum(s). I ask you.
SushiTheLegend
Yes I totally agree with what you are saying, the problem is that no matter what you say or do when it comes down to it, you have no power to do anything.
Pikachu
backsteat/mini moderating is for the sake of the forum...lots of mods don't like it for some reasonthere should be more mods....really
Desu the Blue Nerd
I completely agree with you three. I agree with Pikachu that there probaly should be a coulple more mods. If they can't always do a thing about it they should get somebody who can and will.
Mr. Judgment Dragon
The best thing to do is PM a Super Mod that is online a lot like Dj Osiris, Tkill or Browarod. A regular Mod cant really do much outside their own Forums. Mini modding wont really do anything so PMing a Super Mod or Reporting are the best things to do. On the subject of Mini-Modding, Frunk was pretty tough on it when he was a Super Mod. I'm not too sure about the other Mods or Super Mods though. Pikachu
except that.....what else can we do? nothingthere should be a rule that if you're a 5-star you can mini modi mean...i'ts not against the rules....is it?
Mr. Judgment Dragon
Actually I think it is. It just doesnt seem to have been enforced properly as of late.
Desu the Blue Nerd
But honestly with the rising amount of noobs we need more mods. We only have a couple mods versus how many spammers and noobs.
Mr. Judgment Dragon
I guess we do need more Mods for the ever-increasing number of members so in a way it would make sense but those Mods will still only be able to Mod their specific Forum so it wont really help that much. I could agree in part with the idea of more Mods but I think we need more Mods to be active. Some Supers (not mentioning any names here) do need to be more active. Dark Insectivore
I am a noob i suppose and i would like to say, this website really does need more mods. So far i've only ever seen DJ online. However if the website doesn't get more mods, i also agree that 5-star members should be allowed to "mini-mod". Desu the Blue Nerd
What about six stars.
Jesus
I agree with the above tottally. Silent, He probably didn't know there was 6 star members. If we were to make more mods, YCMaker should open an Application Thread. At least 2 more moderators need to be added to this site.
Desu the Blue Nerd
Pikachu knew and he brought up the 5 star thing.
Jesus
Then it should be 5 stars and up.
Desu the Blue Nerd
Maybe but it's up to YCMaker.
Pikachu
lol people agree with me ;)anyways....the moderator application thread should've been open ages ago...
Chaos Impact™
i don't allways mini mod but sometimes when i feel somethings wrong i tell that person what there doing and what i'm and the forum gonna do about it.
Judαs
Well, many people have the belief 'Leave it to the mods' and stuff, but you're right. Some weeks ago during the porn spamming for quite some time only Star was online and he couldn't do anything else apart from protecting Graphic Design. Only Later came Tkill93. I suppose instead of just more mods, we need mods from different countries. ...and possibly reporting a darn thread or post that was innapopriate. That isn't mini modding right? Because WE report posts to moderators...
Huntar!
Thank you everyone, I believe the best thing to do, is create more moderators. With hundreds of new members a day, and at least 1000 new threads that need moderating.. Divide that up, and its roughly 100 threads a moderator.. And I dont think any moderator should have to moderate 100 threads a day... and manage all the members that post in their forums.
Tkill93
Mini modding will not change. We dont need dozens of people trying to boss other members around and trying to tell them what to do. What do you think you can do if a porn spammer comes on the site if we get rid of that rule? " HEY IM A MINI MOD! LEAVE NOW! " Hackers? Us mods can't even do much if someone's hacking Locked. Not changing. Ever.
