Zoc711
Here's a little somthin-somethin that I found on yugioh-card.com. I was wondering if it would help some people that are just being intriduced to ligthsworns: By now you’ve probably had some time to check out Light of Destruction, the latest booster set. Crack a few packs and you’ll meet the latest group of powerhouse monsters: the Lightsworn! They’re a team of monsters that have high ATK points and awesome effects. While each Lightsworn is good on its own, they’re even better when they’re working together. Today we’re going to introduce you to each of them, and show you how to combine their talents to make one awesome Deck! But First, a Quick Crash Course The one thing you need to know about Lightsworn is that they get better when you have more of them in your Graveyard. The more Lightsworn you send there, the more effects and special monsters you’ll unlock. So how do you set up those big plays? Most Lightsworn monsters have an ability that sends cards from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard—it triggers in the End Phase, and it’s really useful. You’ll see what we mean in a second. Jain, Lightsworn Paladin Let’s start by looking at one of the easiest Lightsworn monsters to play. “Jain, Lightsworn Paladin” starts with 1800 ATK points, meaning she can go toe to toe with stuff like “Zombie Master” and “Elemental Hero Stratos.” When she attacks a monster, she gains another 300 ATK! In the End Phase, Jain sends two cards from the top of your Deck to your Graveyard. Those cards won’t help Jain, but they’ll work wonders for the rest of the team. Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress Jain can cause a lot of damage, but you’ll want to protect her from your opponent’s Trap cards. “Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress” is a great combo—just use her effect to turn her to Defense Position, and you get to destroy any one Spell or Trap card. The Lightsworn love attacking, but Lyla’s ability will be even more valuable. It keeps her teammates safe. Lyla sends three cards from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard in each End Phase, so together, Lyla and Jain can really fill your Graveyard. Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner What to do with all those cards you’re sending away? Why not use them with “Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner”! Her special ability lets you discard any card from your hand to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower “Lightsworn” monster from your Graveyard. The more cards in your Graveyard, the more monsters you’ll have to choose from. Lumina sends three cards to the Graveyard each turn too, so the first one you play makes your other two even better. Wulf, Lightsworn Beast Lumina is a great combo for any of the Lightsworn, but “Wulf, Lightsworn Beast” may be even better than the rest. Wulf clocks in at 2100 ATK points and he’s Level 4, but you can’t Normal Summon or Set him. Instead, he has to be Special Summoned. Discard Wulf for Lumina’s effect, and you can bring him back for a big attack! Wulf has a killer effect, too. When “Wulf, Lightsworn Beast” is sent from your Deck to your Graveyard, you get to Special Summon it. That means if a monster like Lyla or Jain sends Wulf away in the End Phase, you get to Summon the biggest Level 4 monster the Lightsworn have. Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior This Warrior-Type monster is another great combo with Lumina. Garoth is a strong Lightsworn monsters, packing an impressive 1850 ATK, but his effect is what makes him so good. Whenever another Lightsworn sends cards to the Graveyard, Garoth lets you send two more. Then, you get to draw one card for each of those two was a “Lightsworn” monster! Garoth’s the perfect way to make sure you never run out of cards. Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid Once you get a few Lightsworn monsters on the table, you’re going to want to keep them safe. Aurkus has 1800 DEF, and his ability stops your opponent from targeting your “Lightsworn” monsters with effects. “Exiled Force,” “Snipe Hunter”—not even “Dark Armed Dragon” will be able to use its effect on your Lightsworn forces. Ehren, Lightsworn Monk Packing 1600 ATK, Ehren is all about precision strikes! Her ability lets her take out any Defense Position monster in the nastiest way possible: shuffling it back into your opponent’s Deck. That means the Lightsworn can’t be slowed down by stuff like “Marshmallon” and “Spirit Reaper.” She’s a real team player too, sending three cards to the Graveyard every turn. Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter Want to start your Duel off with a vicious bite? “Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter” is the team’s Flip Effect monster. When Ryko flips, you can destroy any card on the field. Then you get to send three cards to the Graveyard. No matter what’s giving you trouble, Ryko can destroy it, blowing away your opponent’s best card and clearing the way for your attacks. Celestia, Lightsworn Angel With Ryko and Lyla clearing away Trap cards, Tributing is pretty easy for the Lightsworn. “Celestia, Lightsworn Angel” is their best high-Level monster. She’s got 2300 ATK points, and when you Tribute a “Lightsworn” monster to Summon her, you can send four cards off the top of your Deck to destroy up to TWO of your opponent’s cards! Use her ability and your opponent will have nothing left, making it easy to score big damage. Gragonith, Lightsworn Dragon The Lightsworn’s other Tribute monster is “Gragonith, Lightsworn Dragon.” With 2000 ATK points, it starts off pretty big, but it gets bigger: Gragonith gains 300 ATK and DEF for each differently named “Lightsworn” monster in your Graveyard. Its special ability lets it pierce through defending monsters, punching straight into your opponent’s Life Points. If there weren’t many Lightsworn in your Graveyard before, Gragonith feeds himself by sending three cards to the Graveyard each turn anyway, so it just keeps growing. Judgment Dragon But Gragonith is far from the biggest Dragon in the Lightsworn ranks! “Judgment Dragon” is a 3000 ATK behemoth, and for 1000 Life Points it’ll destroy everything on the field except for itself—Spells, Traps, and even monsters. The best part is that you can Special Summon “Judgment Dragon” for free when you have four or more different “Lightsworn” monsters in your Graveyard. It’s bigger than “Dark Armed Dragon,” has a better effect, and is way easier to Summon. Get “Judgment Dragon” to the field, and victory will follow. Now that you’ve met the Lightsworn (and their awesome ally, “Judgment Dragon”), you can probably start to see how these cards work together. Lyla and Ryko can clear the way for Lumina, and she can Summon big attackers. Special Summon Wulf, and you’ll have the perfect Tribute for Celestia or Gragonith. And of course, every Lightsworn monster sending cards to the Graveyard gets you closer and closer to Summoning “Judgment Dragon”! It’s up to you, the Duelist, to figure out how best to command your monsters. Don’t forget that teamwork always beats raw power. Try building a Lightsworn Deck yourself, and see what kind of combo craziness you can create.
