Shaco
Okay my children, let me introduce you to my Obsidian creatures! Invader of Darkness would get pretty popular. (new) Newer cards Obsidian Sky Virus***Atk: 1000Def: 1700Dark/Thunder/Flip: Pick up cards from the top of your deck until you draw a Quick-Play Spell, and add it to your hand, place all other cards at the bottom of your deck. - The first of the Obsidian cards. This card is very good for getting out all things Obsidian. Although you haven't gotten far enough down to see it. A lot of Obsidian cards are also treated as Quick-Play Spells along with being monsters. Not a bad card. It's basically a free draw, but the draw is guaranteed to be a QP Obsidian Tortured Advantage****Atk: 1500Def: 1100Dark/Fiend/Effect: Pay 3000 Life Points to draw 3 cards. You cannot activate Quick Play Spell cards, or Traps during the turn you activated this effect. - Once again, this obsidian isn't following the trend effect yet, but it's downside is suited for the type of deck. Pay 3k to draw 3 cards, I'd do it. Unfortunately your entire Ob strategy is pretty much halted until the end of the turn. But you can still Set ObQPs for next turn. (Obsidian Quick Play Spells) Obsidian Clay Shifter*Atk: ?Def: ?Earth/Rock/Effect: When this card is Flip Summoned, select 1 monster you control. The Atk and Def of this card becomes the Atk and Def of the selected monster. Once per turn, you may flip this card Face-Down. - Doesn't go with the strategy all that much... but really, Pyroclastic Demon. Also works well with Exodd Master of the Guard. Obsidian Rank Smasher****Atk: 1700Def: 1300Earth/Dinosaur/Effect: Once per turn, select 1 monster card in your hand. Until the end of the turn, the selected monster is treated as being Level 4. You cannot attack the turn you activated this effect. - This is okay for any deck. You can summon any high Level monster this turn, with no tributes. Although you have to skip your battle Phase for the turn, but summoning DMoC and without a trib seems pretty awesome (Also goes with below card) Obsidian Magma Shaper******Atk: 2400Def: 1600Fire/Rock/Effect: Once per turn, discard 1 card to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Obsidian" monster from your Deck or Graveyard. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 Quick-Play Spell from your Deck, to your hand. - Overall, awesome. It is never too hard to summon a LV 6. And once you do, you can put those Obsidian monsters to work. Special Summoning them from your Deck OR Graveyard is a BIG effect. And once it's gone, another possible Obsidian comes to your hand. You can use it with Rank Smasher if you want, but it isn't all that hard to summon. Obsidian Crystal Heritage****Atk: 1600Def: 1400 Earth/Beast/Effect: Treat this card as both a monster and a Quick-Play Spell card. You can activate this card as if it were a Quick-Play Spell card. If you do, this card's effect becomes: Send 1 "Obsidian" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, to destroy 1 Spell or Trap your opponent controls. - Here we go, the start of the trend effects. Obsidian Crystal monsters are also treated as Quick Play Spells at all times. That means In the deck, Graveyard, Field, or field. Everywhere they are also considered Quick Play Spells. BUT! They are always treated as Monsters unless you play them in the S/T zone as QPSs. But now on to the card itself. It is basically a Mystical Space Typhoon on Obsidian colored crack. All you have to do is put an Obsidian Monster from your Deck to the Grave (hardly a cost at all) and you get to use Heritage as a MST. GREAT! Obsidian Treasure Seeker****Atk: 1800Def: 1000Fire/Warrior/Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned, add 1 "Obsidian Volcano" from your Deck to your Hand. - 1800 is pretty good for an obsidian. And luckily, unlike some other Field Searchers, you don't have to discard this to bring it to your hand. All you have to do is Normal Summon it, and the Volcano is yours for the taking. So you really don't lose anything. Obsidian Volcanic Crystal***Atk: 1200Def: 1700Fire/Rock/Effect: Treat this card as both a monster and a Quick-Play Spell card. You can activate this card as if it were a Quick-Play Spell card. If you do, this card's effect becomes: Destroy 1 Face-Up monster your opponent controls, then pay 500 Life Points to add 1 "Obsidian Volcanic Crystal" from your Deck to your Hand. - Great. Reasonable Def for a monster. And it's effect is pretty top notch. Destroy a Face-Up monster and (for the small price of 500LP) Get a second OVC from your Deck to your Hand. So you can destroy up to 3 Face-Up monsters for only 1500 LP. Not to mention, you now have 3 more Quick-Play spells in your Grave... Pyroclastic... Obsidian Submerged Crystal ***Atk: 1500Def: 100Water/Rock/Effect: Treat this card as both a monster and a Quick-Play Spell card. You can activate this card as if it were a Quick-Play Spell card. If you do, this card's effect becomes: Destroy 1 Face-Down Card your opponent controls, then Send 1 "Obsidian" Card from your Deck to your Graveyard. - The Granmarg/Darkworld Lightning of the Obsidian world. Once again, there isn't really a downside to this, Destroy 1 F/D card, then send another "Obsidian" from your Deck to the Grave... PYROCLASTIC!!! COME ON PEOPLE!!! Obsidian Radiant Blessing ****Atk: 1500Def: 1700Light/Spellcaster/Effect: When this card is Normal / Flip / Special Summoned, increase the Atk and Def of all "Obsidian" monsters you control by 200 points. During either player's turn, you may pay 500 Life Points to return this card from the field to your hand. - When it's summoned it is automatically a 1700 Atk monster, and 200 can make a surprising difference. Aside from that little effect, It becomes a Strike Ninja (without the whole returning thing). If this card is targeted by ANYTHING, you can just return it and your opponent will be left to suffer the loss. Obsidian Black Symbol of Health***Atk: 100Def: 1200Dark/Fairy/Effect: Treat this card as both a monster and a Quick-Play Spell card. You can activate this card as if it were a Quick-Play Spell card. If you do, this card's effect becomes: Increase your Life Points by 1400. - QPS with a 1400LP gain. I'll take 3! Obsidian White Symbol of Replenishment*****Atk: 2200Def: 0Light/Fairy/Effect: If an "Obsidian" monster is used as Tribute to Tribute summon this card, increase your Life Points by 1900. Each time a Quick-Play Spell is activated, increase your Life Points by 400. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, return 1 "Obsidian Black Symbol of Health" From your Graveyard to your Hand. - Really, you're guaranteed 3300LP gain from White and the returned Black when she's destroyed. And of course the additional 400 for each other QPS activated. Obsidian Pyroclastic Demon**********Atk: 4000Def: 1000Fire/Fiend/Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 1 "Obsidian Volcano" you control to the Graveyard, while there are 10 or more Quick-Play Spells in your Graveyard. During the turn this card is Special Summoned, your Opponent cannot activate Trap cards. During your End Phase, you may offer this card to draw 3 cards. This card is also treated as "Obsidian Volcano" while it is Face-Up on the field. - HOLY HELL!!! The Rainbow Dragon of the Obsidian set. This 4k of pure molten magma can easily take a game winning strike for a few reasons. 1. IT'S A 4000ATK MONSTER!!!2. It stops all traps for the ENTIRE TURN!!!3. With the below card, It can't be destroyed by Spells either!4. Although it isn't a game winning move, you get to Draw 3 cards if you feel Pyroclastic has wore it's welcome. Obsidian Volcano Activist ****Atk: 1900Def: 1100Fire/Fairy/Effect: Face-up "Obsidian Volcano" cannot be destroyed by the Spell Card Effects. While this card is in the Graveyard, it is also treated as a Quick-Play Spell. - Although it protects the Field Spell, it can also protect Pyroclastic, as it is also considered Obsidian Volcano while it is on the field. This card can also help towards Pyroclastic's summon while in the Graveyard. Obsidian Shard Wielder****Atk: 1400Def: 1300Earth/Warrior/Effect: Increase the Atk of this monster by 100 for each "Obsidian" monster in your Graveyard. Each time you activate a Quick-Play Spell, decrease the attack of one monster your opponent controls by 100. Obsidian Poison Archer***Atk: 1400Def: 1900Dark/Warrior/Effect: Once per turn, place 1 "Poison Tip" Counter on one monster your opponent controls. Decrease the Atk of monsters with "Poison Tip" Counters by 300 for each one. While this card is in your Deck, it is also treated as a Quick-Play Spell. Obsidian Volcano Field SpellWhen an "Obsidian" Quick-Play Spell is activated, you can place 1 "Obsidian" monster in your deck, to the top of your Deck. If there is a chain involving 2 or more "Obsidian" Quick-Play Spell Cards, Increase your Lifepoints by 1000, and draw 1 card. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can discard any number of cards from your hand to the graveyard, to add the same number of "Obsidian" monsters from your Deck to your hand. - The official Field of Obsidian. Off the bat, once a QPS is activated, you know you're getting a usefull Obsidian next turn, possibly Pyroclastic if you have enough QPSs in your Grave as it is. Next, if you happen to have a little chain going on with your Obsidian buddies, you'll gain some LP and get a nice little draw. Then, maybe my favorite effect, you get a crazy Magical Mallet kinda effect when Volcano is sent away. Perfect for getting those last few QPSs you need to summon Pyroclastic, or just to get some awesome cards overall. This also works when Pyroclastic sends it to the Grave. Mystical Temple of WindsContinuous SpellEach time a Quick-Play Spell is activated, place 1 Counter on this card. You can remove 3 Counters from this card to draw 2 cards. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, increase your life Points by the number of Quick-Play Spells in the Graveyard x 100. - Perfect for Obsidian monsters, It only takes 3 to get 2 cards out of it. Although it sucks to have cards that require each other's help. The below card will secure you several draws if you play it right. Obsidian Ash WindsSpellSend 1 "Obsidian" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. Place 1 Counter on "Mystical Temple of Winds" equal to the number of "Obsidian" Quick-Play Spells in your Graveyard. During the end of the turn, destroy all "Mystical Temple of Winds" on the field. - See above. Obsidian Barrier of MagesCounter TrapActivate this card when your opponent activates a Spell Card. Your opponent can pay 100 Life Points x the number of "Obsidian" Quick-Play Spells in your Graveyard to negate the effect of this card. If they cannot negate the activation of the Spell Card and destroy it. - Basically a Magic Drain that snorted powered Obsidian. It can lead to quite a bit of Lifepoint Damage if you've played a few OQPs (Which I'm sure you have). There is no downside to this card besides that it takes up a card in your deck... and most cards have that downside anyways :P (Secret Rare)Obsidian Devil Knight****Atk: 1700Def: 1600Fire/Warrior/Effect: Once per turn, discard 1 Quick-Play Spell to draw 1 card. During the turn you activated this effect, you can add 1 Quick-Play Spell that was activated this turn, to your hand. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, your opponent discards 1 random card. While this card is in the Graveyard, it is also treated as a Quick-Play Spell. Link to comment

Shaco
Hmm, I suppose I didn't put enough stops on it. I guess I could make it a Flip effect and give it a little downside, thanks. Link to comment
Shaco
Added descriptive text under the cards (like I always do) Link to comment

Shaco
Thanks Yeah, images would be great if you could find them. Also, in case you were wondering Obsidian is a black gem created from cooled lava. It's supposed to make a great weapon because it's sharpened on the molecular level. lillilwillo
Clay Shifter If Its A Effect Card, Not Too High Def Or Attk Link to comment
lillilwillo
Pryoclastic Demon Overpowered on its attack. Link to comment
Shaco
Clay Shifter If Its A Effect Card' date=' Not Too High Def Or Attk[/quote'] I'm afraid I don't really know what you mean by that Pryoclastic Demon Overpowered on its attack. Not any better than Rainbow Dragon. I think it's pretty fair, and it's meant to be a little overpowered. Link to comment
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
The only things I can find that are wrong are minor text-based errata. I can easily see hundreds of powerful decks being built around these cards. Sky Virus: I think it would be useful to shuffle your deck after you use its effect. That way, if you drew something like Blue-Eyes, you could have a chance of obtaining it sooner. Tortured Advantage: I like how you balanced its effect with the whole Trap/QP thing. You need to specify the phase in which you can activate the effect, though. You'd also probably want to try replacing QP specifically with Spell cards in general. If you did that, you'd have to lower the LP cost. I'd actually do that anyway. Shuffling your deck after you activate a deck-searching effect is essential, or else you would have been able to see the order of your cards and possibly cheat. When you're trying to say that it's also a QP, word it like this: Treat this card as both a monster and a Quick-Play Spell card. You can activate this card as if it were a Quick-Play Spell card. If you do, this card's effect is: I'm not really certain if that's how Kazuki Takahashi would word it, but I think it's something like that. Don't say '"Obsidian" monster,' because that's inspecific. Takahashi always says 'monster with "__" in its name.' (i.e. Special Summon 1 monster from your hand with "Obsidian" in its name to the field in face-up Attack position.) For Submerged Crystal, can the face-down card be any card, or does it have to be a monster/spell/trap? Capitalize ATK and DEF. Don't say "Lifepoints," say "Life Points." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FINAL RATING: 9.3/10: Just all that errata I mentioned above. It's all minor, and you can understand the effects just fine. The cards are all great and well-balanced, and I wouldn't be surprised to see these in a booster pack (with the errata corrected). Nothing major. Awesome cards! P.S.: Obsidian is a gemstone as well as an igneous rock.P.P.S.: Obsidian is my favorite gemstone as well. Link to comment
Shaco
(Sorry for taking so long to respond, but the Cpu thing was buggy.) Thanks (See rep) I had a little trouble deciding how to word the QP Monster effects, so thanks for clearing that up. I used to put "A monster with "Obsidian" in it's card name", but after reading some of the newer cards, I went with "An "Obsidian" monster" Here's an example I found:Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins This card gets these effects, based on the number of "Crystal Beast" monsters in your Spell & Trap Card Zone.- 1+: This card cannot be destroyed by a card effect.- 2+: Once per turn, you can halve the Battle Damage you take.- 3+: You can send 1 "Crystal Beast" monster you control to the Graveyard to negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card and destroy it.- 4+: Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can draw 1 card.- 5+: Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can Special Summon 1 "Crystal Beast" card from your Spell & Trap Card Zone. Submerged can destroy any F/D card, Monster, Spell, or Trap. Yeah, it's always been a habit of mine to write Lifepoints, but I'll change it. Link to comment
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
You're welcome. (Submerged bit) That clears things up a lot. I'd love to see more of the series. 9.7/10.0: Without errata, the cards are pretty much perfect. However, they are relatively weak on their own and rely on each other heavily. On the other hand, the Exodia pieces are useless alone, too, and look at what they can achieve. Link to comment
Shaco
Thanks, moved up 0.4 I'm moving up in the world I don't know how many more cards I want to make.I don't want to make more cards, but have lower quality. Link to comment
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
Well, you at least recognize quality over quantity. That's an admirable trait. Link to comment
Shaco
I forgot I had written these. Anyways, I was pretty proud of them, so I decided to bump this. There have been a lot of new members since August, so I want to get their opinion on these cards. Also the meta has changed as well, so that should play into their opinion of these cards. Oh, one more thing. I have the cards made for almost all of them, but I don't have pictures for the bolded cards yet, so if anyone could help me out with that, that would be great. (I suppose I could give you a rep if I use it ^^) Link to comment
Holy R. Enigma
Very nice set, never thought someone would make another Gemstone class monsters. Like, Crystal Beasts but they are kind a stupid talking about Crystal Beasts is stupid. These isn't stupid and I can see why this is better than Crystal Beasts. xD So I'll give you a 9.8/10 rating. Link to comment
Shaco
Thanks, I like they're better than Crystal Beasts, but CBs do have quite a bit more support behind them. Perhaps I should add a few more S/Ts to the set... Link to comment
Holy R. Enigma
If these cards came real, this would be anti-Crystal Beast Deck. If that was possible, because the 4000 attack monster in this set, doesn't need 7 cards like Rainbow Dragon does. xD So its better I think. I like this set and it would be nice to see more m/t cards for this set just because of the CBs do have much more support. Link to comment
