My Theory

All monster cards` AATK and DEF total depend of their level. After many guesses and a real try, I can now say it: Each level is 700 points (ATK AND DEF) higher than the preceding one.

You don`t understand? Here`s the chart:

1 star: total ATK+DEF 700

2 stars ------------- 1400

3 stars ------------- 2100

etc.

12 stars -------------18888

All cards whose total ATK and DEF is higher than this are overpowered.

At first I thought it was 1000, but it was REALLY too high. And 500 was not enough. After some tries, it worked!

You are forgetting about effects also. Effects also determain the level of the monster. Also, a level 4 monster with 2800 is waaaaay to much. I haven't really though about it too much, but I think every level is roughly 500-600 ATK more than the preceding one.

So it would answer why Giant Kozaky is waay overpowered but because of its effect it is 4 stars?
