Umbra
As you step into the Arena, you hear the crowd roaring around you. Many hundreds of thousands watch your every move, screaming for blood. A gust of wind blows some sand of the ground, and blinds you for a split second. As you try to remove some of it, the announcer starts his speech. - Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first Heraklinos Challenge! With us today, we have countless card makers that have arrived to fight for glory and honor! Tonight's grand prize consists of an astonishing five reputation points for the winner, and no less than a thousand points! The crowd gasps. This was clearly a lot more than they had expected. The announcer continued, a smile on his face. - That's right, folks! And for our second-place runner-up, a prize of a single reputation point and two-hundred points will be handed out. Now, let's start the Elimination Rounds! It's obvious what section I moderate, isn't it? :D The Heraklinos Challenge, a new concept from CMorae Studios, will feature two elimination rounds, in which four people from each round, and a final for the top eight. The Elimination Rounds will be free-for-all, while the Final Round consists of seven 1vs1 matches, a standard tournament line-up. Rules for Elimination Rounds - A player can not participate in both Elimination Rounds. Make sure to look at your competition before you join; if you think you can make it to the top four, give it a try. If you don't, sit this round out. - If you win 1 Elimination Round, you can not participate in the other. Simple as that. - If your card does not fit the requirements, it will be disqualified and you will be banned from the current Elimination Round. You can still join the other Elimination Round, though. [spoiler=Elimination Round 1]You look around at the other competitors. They seem nervous, naturally. A grand challenge you wouldn't want to miss would start in a few minutes. The announcer starts to speak again. - For our card makers of the evening, this is the task of the first Elimination Round! In honor of the great Heraklinos himself, your mission of the day is to create a Gladiator Beast! Along with it, you shall also create an Equip Spell and a Trap to go with Gladiator Beasts! At stake here is four places in the Finals! Specific Rules - You can not enter with more than one of each card. 1 Monster, 1 Equip, and 1 Trap. - All cards have be related to Gladiator Beasts. - To verify that you made the card, and that you made it specifically for this contest, the Set number must be GLAD-042, and the eight-digit number at the bottom must be 27346636. This applies for all cards. Otherwise, your entry will be ignored and you will be disqualified from the first Elimination Round. End DateAugust 18th. Current FinalistsNone. Kyub
Gladiator Beast BrutusIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGladiator Beast's Experience Emperor's Mercy One young card-maker pulled three cards out of a hidden pocket. "I choose these three cards. Gladiator Beast Brutus, Gladiator Beast's Experience and Emperor's Mercy!" The crowd roared at the young boy, pleased with his efforts. The announcer smiled at motioned for the card-maker to come to him, to examine the cards. Guess which section I practically LIVE in. :) Not too sure of the OCG. Any improvements needed? Umbra
The announcer looked at the cards briefly, and then looked back at the young card maker. - Well, since you don't have much competition right now, you're qualified for the finals. But remember, it's not over until it's over, and only the four best can reach the finals. Brutus might be a bit powerhouse with 600 ATK per GBs in deck, considering that most people run around 5-6 GBs, if not even more. But the others are well done and balanced. Ultimate Ryan
Ryan wishes to enter!"Gladiator Beast Murmillo" + 2 "Gladiator Beast" monstersThis card can only be Special Summoned from your Fusion Deck by returning the above cards you control to the Deck (You do not use "Polymerization"). When this card destroys a monster by battle, this card can attack once more in a row. You can Tribute 2 monsters you control to destroy 1 card your opponent controls. Equip only to a "Gladiator Beast" monster. When the equipped monster attacks a Defense Position monster switch the target to face-up Attack Position. When the equipped monster is returned from your side of the field to the Deck and this card is sent to the Graveyard, return this card to your hand. You can only activate this card when a "Gladiator Beast" monster you control attacks or is attacks, discard 2 cards, select 5 "Gladiator Beast" monsters from your Graveyard and place them in your Deck, your Deck is then shuffled. -Ryan
Kyub
@CM: Hmm, true, but I must confess, I'm a n00b at the actual OCG and TCG, so I honestly wouldn't know how many cards people run and which are the most popular. Can I edit Brutus so he gets 400 ATK for every GB in the deck? Ah, that's unfair!!! You should be able to participate in the 2nd round if you fail one! (Sigh) If I'd seen that before I might not have entered this round. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna lose this one. @UR: ...Why do I get the feeling I'm going to be totally outclassed by everyone who enters? Wait...QUICK, RYAN, change the set number! It has to be GLAD-042 for every card! I think...
Umbra
@BK: It's not called Elimination Round for nothing. However, I think I might drop that rule about GLAD-042. GLAD can stay, but the number can be either. And no, no edits. @Ryan: The announcer looks at the newcomer's cards, and shakes his head. - Well, you're still in the finals, since you don't have much competition, but your cards could have been better. Namely, Exotinth can't tag out, Shield Crusher doesn't feel that innovative, and neither does Resources.

Junk Raver
Charlie, any chance you can shorten the end date, if it finishes on the 18th, and theres many rounds, the contest will drag on for too long. I'm currently writing extra rules for the contest section, one of which is a time limit. Members may also get bored of the contest if they have to wait to long. Umbra
Fine, I can set a new time limit. New End Date for Round 1: August 15th. However, I won't be able to judge them until the 18th, since I'll be on a vacation from 10-17th.
