This Fan Fic introduces a new sub-type: Necromancers. More will be revealed as you read.

[spoiler=[b]Prologue[/b]]

Horace woke up at 5 am. He had been woken be a disturbance from the hallway. Horace was a tall fair-haired six-teen year-old. He lived in apartment near his parent’s house. Horace was making a name for himself dueling.

He grudgingly trudged out of bed to check the disturbance. He sub-consciously slipped his Duel-Disk on his arm. He arrived in the hallway to discover a unknown intruder.

????: I see you have you Duel-Disk. I will duel you.

Horace: Wha-what, who are you and what do you want?

????: I do not think names are needed in a duel. My intention is mine, you do not need to know.

With that, he pulled out a box with a button and pressed it. It grew and shaped to form a Duel-Disk. Horace had not realized that this intruder might be a duelist. He shook his head and blinked twice.

Horace: Duel!

Horace: 8000

????: 8000

They both drew 5 cards.

????: I go first. [He draws a card.] I play my Cubic Servant! [ATK 500/LV2]. I play three cards face down and end my turn.

Horace: I draw. [Draws a card.] I play my Burning Corpse. [ATK 1300/LV3]. Attack his Cubic Servant with Burning slash!

????: My cubic servant’s effect activates! It allows me to replace him with another monster if he is attacked. I choose my Cubic Cook! [DEF 1500/LV4]. Come out in Defense position.

Burning Corpse attacked Cubic Cook. Horace was thrown back by the impact.

Horace: 7800

????: 8000

????: My turn, Draw! [Draws a card] I play Cubic Castle!

All of a sudden, the hallway became a castle that was shaped like a cube!

Horace: What does it do?

????: You will find out, in time. Now I play my Cubic Warrior. [ATK 1700/LV4] Go Cubic Warrior, Square Sword Swipe!

The Cubic Warrior slashed at The Burning Corpse. Horace was thrown back with the impact as his monster was destroyed.

Horace: I have some tricks up my sleeve, so don’t get too comfortable! I draw! [Draws a card] I play my Master of Apprentices! [ATK 1700/LV4]. Go! Attack his Cubic Warrior! Magic attack!

????: Fool. Both our monsters will be destroyed.

Horace: Not quite, my monster cannot be destroyed by anything less then a Level 5!

Master of Apprentices took aim and fired. Cubic Warrior exploded.

Horace: 7400

????: 8000

???? Now my Cubic Castle effect activates. On the turn after one of my cubic monsters is destroyed. I gain life points equal to the monsters defense points! And Cubic Warrior had 700 DEF! Now I draw. [Draws a card] I sacrifice my Cubic Cook to Summon Cubic Knight! [2100ATK/LV5] I put one card face-down and end my turn.

Horace: Why didn’t you attack? Never mind that. Draw! [Draws a card] I play 3 face-downs and end my turn!

Horace: 7400

????:8700

????: I draw. [Draws a card] I activate my Cubic Crush! This causes you to lose 700 Life Points. Now I end my turn.

Horace: I draw! [Draws a card] I play Dark Rider in the Monster Zone behind my Master of Apprentices. Now, for every turn he is on the field, you lose 500 Life Points.

???? What do you mean ‘Behind my Master of Apprentices’?

Horace: I thought you knew that Necromancers go in the Necromancer zone in-front of the monster card zone. This means the monster behind it cannot be attacked.

With that, the intruder ran away at top speed.

 

 

[spoiler=[b]Chapter 1[/b]]

Chapter 1

The day after the prologue.

Horace woke up to the sound of his alarm ringing. He got up. It was time to go to the duel arena. He had his duel that would either make or ruin his career. It was a duel that could take him into the pro leagues. But it was against one of the best pro’s ever. His name was Ranko Glin. He dueled with Cubic Cards. It was at this point that Horace remembered his duel during the night. The intruder who used CUBIC CARDS. Was that guy Glin? He thought of this as he looked through his deck, figuring out strategies. Then he made toast for breakfast. Still thinking f the previous nights duel, he got into his suit and left for the duel.

At the arena, he got to the waiting room. There, he met his opponent.

Ranko: You seem pretty confident about the duel.

Horace: Of course. I believe in the heart of the cards and they will not let me down.

Ranko: Ha! What a load of nonsense. The heart of the cards is just something like shadowduels.

Horace: Dream on!

They sat quietly, looking at their decks. Then the duel-controllers entered and told them to get ready and get to the entrances. Horace stood up and walked away. When the announcer announced his name, he entered the arena. He heard the Announcer announce his opponent.

Announcer: And on the other side, Ranko Glin, the worlds third best duelist. He duels with Cubic cards that were specially designed for him.

Horace: Get your game on!

Ranko: Don’t steal someone else’s catch phrase, make you own! Eat my extra life points!

Horace: I go first! [Draws a card] I play my Burning Corpse! [ATK1300/LV3] I lay 3 face-downs and end my turn!

Glin: Is that all? I thought you would be a challenge! My turn. Draw! [Draws a card] I play my Cubic Castle. Now I lay down 2 face-downs and end my turn.

Horace: 8000

Glin: 8000

Horace: I draw. [Draws a card] I sacrifice my Burning Corpse to summon Dark Warrior [ATK 0/LV5]. Now his special effect activates. I can Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower monster from my hand and I choose my Master of Apprentices. I place him in the Necromancer Zone in front of my Dark Warrior!

There was a gasp that went through the crowd. People were whispering about this new zone. Horace had forgotten that most people didn’t know about the cards that William Pegasus had given him.

Horace: I guess I owe all of you a little explanation! I visited William Pegasus one year ago today. He told me about the new cards he had been working on. He explained to me the rules of this new subtype. The new subtype, Necromancer, has it’s own card zone. They are played in front of the regular monsters. None of them can be played face-down. The monster behind a Necromancer cannot be attacked or attack. Then he showed me them. All of a sudden I heard a sound in my head. It was as though the cards were talking to me. Then I realized they were! I told William this and he told me the cards were mine. For more information please watch me duel! Now I activate my face down card, Pot of Greed! This allows me two draw two cards.

I end my turn.

Ranko: Do you honestly think you can beat me with such weak monsters? Well, my turn. Draw![Draws a card] I play my Cubic Servant. [ATK500/LV2] But he won’t be here for long, as I sacrifice him to activate Cubic Army. This allows me to Special Summon 1 monster with Cubic in its name! I choose my Cubic Warlord! [ATK2700/LV8] Now Cubic Warlord, attack his Master of Apprentices! Cubic Swipe!

Horace: You activated my Trap, Necromancers Art! This allows me to Special Summon 1 monster from my Graveyard and re-directs the attack at this monster. And I choose my Burning Corpse in Defense Mode. [300DEF/LV3]

Cubic Warlord destroyed the corpse, sending it back to the Graveyard.

Horace: Since it was in Defense Mode, so I take no damage!

Ranko: Now my Cubic Warlord’s effect activates. When he destroys a monster by battle, you lose Life Points equal to the Attack points of the destroyed monster!

Horace: But My monster had 1300 Attack Points. So I lose 1300 Life Points!

Horace fell on the ground from the impact!

Horace: 6700

Glin: 8000

Horace: My turn. Draw! [Draws a card] Now I play my Necromancer Of the Dark in Defense Mode. [DEF1300/LV4] Now I end my turn.

Ranko: I draw! [Draws a card] Go Cubic Warlord, attack his Necromancer of the dark with Cubic Swipe!

Necromancer Of the Dark was shattered into about a million pieces.

Horace: Now his effect activates! I can Special Summon one Necromancer King of the Dead from my hand or deck. And look, here’s one in my hand. I play my Necromancer King of the Dead. [ATK2400/LV6]

Ranko: My Cubic Warlord still has more points. Also, your forgetting his effect, you lose Life Points equal to the attack points of the destroyed monster, and that is 1300.

Horace shot Backwards with the impact.

Horace: My turn! Draw! [Draws a card] Now I activate the field spell Chamber of the Dead. Now I can Special Summon 1 Necromancer and I choose my Dark Dragon Of Death. [ATK 0/LV6] This card is destroyed as soon as it is Summoned. But when Dark Dragon of death is destroyed, I gain 1000 Life Points. Now on with the effect of the Chamber of the Dead! All my Necromancer’s gain 500 ATK and 300 DEF. Also, all none Necromancers Gain the following effect ‘During your Stanby Phase, inflict 500 points of direct damage to your opponent.’

Ranko: But that’s impossible, how can your Necromancer destroy my Cubic Warlord.

Horace: It’s the heart of the cards! Go Necromancer, King of the Dead destroy his Cubic Warlord. Death Charge! But his effect also activates, this allows me to summon one Level 3 or lower Zombie-Type Monster from my Graveyard. And I choose my Burning Corpse. [ATK1300/LV3] Now on with the attack!

Necromancer, King of the Dead attacked Cubic Warlord. The impact shot Ranko backwards.

Horace: 6400

Ranko:7800

 

[spoiler=[b]Chapter 2[/b]]

Ranko: My turn! Draw! [Draws a card] Ha! Now I activate Cubic Mirage. This card allows me too Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard and I choose my Cubic Warlord. However, this monster cannot attack and is destroyed in the End Phase of the turn it is Summoned by the effect of Cubic Mirage. Now I play Cubic Tribute. This allows me to Summon a monster that would usually require tributes, require no tributes. And the only thing I have too do is halve my life points. I choose my Cubic King. Next I activate Polymerization. Now I can fuse my Cubic Warlord and Cubic King to Summon Cubic Commander! [ATK 4000/LV9]

Announcer: That card has some serious attack power! How will Horace counter it?

Ranko: You’re saved for now, because this card cannot attack on the turn it’s Summoned. But remember, during my End Phase you lose 500 Life Points because of my Cubic Commander’s effect!

Horace: My turn. Draw! [Draws a card] I activate my face down Necromancer Ex-Army. This summons three Necromancer Tokens onto your Necromancer Zones. [ATK 2000/LV5] And all I have too do is send 1 card from my hand to the Graveyard.

Ranko: Now they get the bonus of your Chamber of the Dead.

Horace: They still have less ATK then My Necromancer so go Necromancer, King of the Dead! Death Charge! His effect activates and I can Special Summon 1 LV3 or lower Zombie-Type Monster from my Graveyard. And I choose Burning Corpse!

Ranko: How did that get there, I thought you had already summoned the Burning Corpse in your Graveyard.

Horace: Remember when I had to discard a card? I discarded a Burning Corpse. So now here it comes. [ATK 1300/LV3] Now finish the attack. Next I activate his next effect. I tribute my two Burning Corpse and my Necromancer, King of the Dead! This allows me to Special Summon one of the most powerful monster in my deck! Come out, Necromancer Lord, God of the Dead! [ATK????/LV8] His ATK is equal to the combined ATK of the monsters tributed to summon him.

Ranko: But that 5500ATK, and with the field spell, 6000!

Horace: And now he can attack. Go Necromancer Blast. Destroy his Cubic Commander!!

Ranko shot backwards with the powerful hit.

Horace. Finally my Dark Warrior effect activates. You lose 1000 Life Points!

Ranko: But the field spell only makes it 500.

But Dark warrior already makes you lose 500 Life Points during my End Phase.

Ranko: 500

Horace: 6400

Ranko: My turn. Draw! [Draws a card] Now I tribute both my Necromancer Tokens to summon Cubic Queen. [ATK0/LV10] Now this is were things get complicated. First of all I need to pay 4000 Life Points at the end of this turn, but that wont matter. Then I can pick any number of monsters in my Graveyard and their DEF come out of your life points. Then, this card gains their ATK and can attack you directly.

Horace: I am very afraid that your monster will never be able to activate it’s effect. I activate Effect Use. This allows give one of my face up monster an effect of a monster in my hand. I give the effect of Deaths Guide to my Necromancer Lord, God Of The Dead! Now by tributing him, I can destroy 1 card with equal or less ATK on the field. And I choose your Cubic Queen. But my cards effect isn’t over yet. Now I can activate his effect. So here it goes. I tribute Necromancer Lord, God of the Dead to destroy your Cubic Queen. Now you have to end your turn and that means you take 4000 points of damage.

Ranko: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Ranko bounced back onto his bottum.

Announcer: Oh my folks! It seems like we have a new pro and a new third best in the world!!!

The crowd cheered so loud that Horace covered his ears.

Horace: You loose, I win!

Ranko: Not quite, I activated Cubic Switch. This means that you take damge equal to twice the damage I would have taken. Oh, and I take no damage.

Horace stepped of the stage and left the arena. He walked home and took a nap.

 

 

[spoiler=[b]Chapter 3[/b]]

One month after chapter 2

Horace was running to the Duel Tower for the entrance exam. He needed to get onto Duel Island. He needed to make it into the pro leagues. The duel part of the examination took place between 10:00 and 10:45. It was already 10:30.

Horace: Must make it to Duel Tower before it is too late.

Horace got there at 10:44.

Horace: Few, just in the nick of time. Hey, I am here for the entrance duel. Anyone, anyone?

A man wearing a yellow collar and white shirt came up to Horace.

Man: Horace Crocker? Your duel is right this way. Just follow me please.

The man walked to a duel arena. There was already another man in yellow waiting there.

Horace: Hello. Let’s Duel!

Both players launched their Duel Disks. They each drew five cards.

Horace: I go first! Draw! [Draws a card] I play my Dark Army in Attack Mode! [ATK1700/LV4] I play 2 cards face-down and end my turn. But now my Dark Army’s effect activates. You lose 500 Life Points!

Man in yellow: My turn. Draw! [Draws a card] I play 1 card face-down. I play Cyber Dragon. [ATK2100/LV5] I can summon him because all the monsters in play are on your side of the field. Go, Attack his Dark Army! Mechanic Swipe.

Horace: I activate my trap, Mirror Wall! Now all of you monsters in attack are destroyed!

Man in yellow: Lame trick. I activate my face-down, Trap Jammer! Your card is negated!

Cyber Dragon destroyed Dark Army. Horace shot backwards with the impact.

Man in yellow: I lay 2 face-downs and end my turn.

Horace: 3600

Man in Yellow: 4000

Horace: My turn. [Draws a card] I play the Field Spell Chamber of the Dead! First I can Special Summon 1 Necromancer and I choose my Necromancer of the Dark. [ATK1300] But my Chamber of the Dead gives him a bonus. A 500 ATK bonus to be exact!

Man in the yellow: But your monster still only has 1800 ATK, that’s not enough to beat my monster!

Horace: Not yet anyway because I drew Syth of the Dead. This gives a necromancer of my choice 700 extra ATK! That means my monster has 2500ATK and that’s enough to destroy your Cyber Dragon! Attack his Cyber Dragon!

Man in yellow: No!

Horace: Now I activate Death Toll. This destroys 1 of my monsters and I choose my Necromancer of the Dark

Man in yellow: Why destroy your own monster?

Horace: Because now I can Special Summon Necromancer, King of the Dead. [2400ATK] Also, because Syth of the Dead was destroyed by card effect I can Special Summon 1 Level 1 Zombie-Type monster. I choose Dark Grass! [500ATK] I place him in the monster card zone behind my Necromancer, King of the Dead. But my Necromancer gets a 500 point boost. Then the effect of my Chamber of the Dead activates, meaning that since I have a monster behind a Necromancer, you lose 500 Life Points!

Man in yellow: I draw! [Draws a card] I play Card Cresent! Now, by skipping my battle phase 1 can choose 1 card from my deck and add it to my hand.

The man picked up a card from his deck.

Man in yellow: Now I can use Monster Reincarnation! I discard this card to add Cyber Dragon to my hand. Now I activate Polymerization! I fuse 3 Cyber Dragons to summon Cyber End Dragon! Now I play 1 monster in defense mode and end my turn.

Horace: 3600

Man in yellow: 3100

Horace: My turn, draw! [Draws a card] Go, Necromancer, King of the Dead, destroy his face down.

Man in yellow reveals Soul Tiger and sends him to the Graveyard.

Horace: Now my plan is set. You see, since my Necromancer, King of the Dead attacked, I can Special Summon 1 Zombie-Type monster. I choose my Burning Corpse. But he wont be hear for long because I activate the final effect of my Necromancer. Now, by tributing him and 2 other Zombie-Type, I can Special Summon Necromancer Lord, God of the Dead! His ATK is equal to the combined ATK of my three tributed monsters. And that equals…

Horace quickly did the math, 2900+500+1300=4700.

Horace: 4700!

Man in yellow: But that’s more then my Cyber End Dragon!

Horace: But his ATK Increases by 500 more, meaning he has over 5000 ATK! Go, attack Cyber End Dragon! Necromancer Slash!

The man in yellow shot so far back that he fell of the stage.

Man in yellow: I draw! [Draws a card] I play 1 card in face-down Defense Mode. I set 1 card and end my turn.

Horace: 3600

Man in Yellow: 1900

Horace: I draw. [Draws a card] I play Ookazi so you lose 800 Life Points. Now I activate Call of Life! Now you must Special Summon your most powerful monster in your Graveyard in Attack Mode! Also, it gets a 100 point boost. And that’s Cyber End Dragon. Now go, Necromancer Lord, destroy his Cyber End Dragon. That’s game.

Horace: 3600

Man in yellow: 0
