OoC: Nice try. Raikenzu doesn't fall that easily.

IC:

It had taken extensive amounts of magic, but Nicro's illusion had worked. It looked like hundreds of dead bodies littered the floor where the Blazing Light Cannon had struck, but that was not the case. Of course, Nicro himself was unconscious, unable to take the strain of such a powerful spell, but the illusion had worked.

His troops had been careful to set up a rendezvous point with several DIMEs that had broken off from the main force, in the event that Saiku had a super-long-range weapons. Even with all the DIMEs focusing on the same spot, they'd barely been able to get underground when the light struck. Raitetsu, viewing the scene via scrying orb, wouldn't have been surprised if there were realy casualties: the light was very powerful, and more than a few soldiers did get burned from the intense heat always generated alongside light. The plan could go on.

Unfortunately, the attack had ceased their decoy. It would now be a long time before the tunnel could be successfully completed. Raitetsu, as always, had been prepared for such an event. It would take considerable resources to continue the plan, but it would be worth it. After it was successfully executed, Saiku would no longer be a threat to his reign.

He picked another scrying orb, and spoke into it: "Companies 4B618 and 4B891," he ordered, "and CLAIM Task Force 7W341. Deploy immediately to Mt. Heidon. Head due west first, then head due north once you're in line with Heidon. Remember, your task will be to locate and massacre the survivors there. Don't bother concealing your mission; you can take Saiku. Nicro will be deployed with you. Leave now."

Nicro looked over to the Saiku base, snarling. "The fools are asleep... and we can massacre all their friends at the same time. Have the MECHs open fire on the mountain, now! We can blow them up from a distance and go home." he ordered to the nearby lieutenant. He saluted, then passed on the order. Roughly thirty seconds later, massive beams of blue energy were raining upon the mountains, though the MECHs themselves were now out of eyeshot from the Saiku base. Explosions followed, and sixty seconds later, there was another round of fire.
