Official YCM Newsletter

Recommended Posts

 • Administrators

I've been thinking it would be neat to have an official YCM newsletter, chronicling current events on both the forum and the Yu-Gi-Oh community as a whole. The newsletter would be distributed via email to all registered members, so it would reach quite a large audience. If anyone would be interested in contributing to the newsletter, post here with an idea of what you would like to write (ex: Editorials, Interviews, Current Events, etc), and an article/piece you have written in the past. I will work on fabricating some kind of a newsletter format based on the responses I receive.

I honestly dont check my email(s) unless I have to, [account activations etc].... But I am in full support I suppose...

Maybe 1 member to really put in charge of the categories news, and 2 for General due to its size?
Pokevolution

By: Ruby

As many already know, the famous Pokemon Set, Pokevolution,

worked on by myself, Our current GFX Mod Haruno, or "Ichigo",

and Hunter, and Started by our very own jspamax, seems to strive

for success. Many have witnessed the wondorful cards presented

in the set. And with 140+ cards, why wouldn't it be wondorful?

Recently, Pokevolution had hit a stop, because of the discovery of

limited character space, which was soon solved with allowing the

set to continue through other threads. Also, an interesting fact,

was the wondorful sigs made for each of the threads, each

representing a different type of Pokemon. You can catch all of these

in the Pop Culture Section. The "Pokevolution Headquarters",

known as the basis of all the threads, is stickied, for easier access.

For a more in-depth view into Pokevolution, please read an interview

of the creater of the whole project, jspamax, or James, himself.

Ruby:

"How do you feel about your Pokevolution Set

being, well, one of the best Pokemon sets

ever released here at YCM?"

jaspamax:

"It is a true Honor to know that. That's one

of the reasons I started Pokevolution. I was

sick of seeing Dumbed down crappy Pokemon Cards."

Ruby:

"You and along with myself, Haruno and

Hunter have added about 140+ cards. All of which

are excellent. How do you feel about the

rate of the cards, being developed?"

jspamax:

"Well at first we were adding close to 5-7

cards a day. That slowed down over time due to

General Stress and Real Life Problems. One day

I hope to bring Pokevolution back to 5-6 cards

a day."

Ruby:

"You have always told me that with Pokevolution,

you hope to achieve some kind of honor, that

will have members remember you for it. Do you

think it will work, and that your set will

achieve its success?"

Jspamax:

"If I have the patience then it would work.

I just wanted something extra Special for YCM

to remember me by. The one thing that will make

me a True Legend."

Ruby:

"A lot of members notice you to be one of the

nicest members. Your nice personality has been

adapted to your cards, as in they are really cute.

But You have told me before that you wanted to take

a more not so Cute and cuddly, basis with your

cards? Why is that?"

jspamax:

"I knew you would ask me that. Yes I enjoy

the Cute and Cuddly approach but I like a lot

of Variation. The card "Watery Grave" Showed

how much I wanted the set to be a Universal

thing rather then just for Kids."

Ruby:

"One more question before I let you go. What

will you do after Pokevolution?"

jspamax:

"That hasn't been decided yet. Hopefully

Haruno may want to work again with me sometime.

There's also the Spellcaster Collab set I came

up with before Pokevolution existed."

Thank you jspamax for that interview. There was also

a statement jspamax wanted to get across:

"I just wanted to say to all

the people that doubt me. (Especially Haruno)

The set will be completed. It's just going to

take a lot longer then expected. Hang in there

Pokemon Fans."
Well, everyone, this week I have something special. In this weeks issue, I will start the very first "Member Tribute".

A Member Tribute, is well, exactly how it sounds. I will do a Tribute on a certain member showing his or her current

achievements. This week, i'll start with a very special person, named Kale.

"Member Tribute : Kale"

Kale is a fellow YCM member known for the creaton of many things. He created the famous Ally Set, introducing the

unique "Stack" effect. He is also the creater of "Dul Mat" and "Duel Disks" Card features, which he introduced

first in his Fan-Fic, and then later decided to sell in his shop.

The Ally Set, can be found in the Realistic Card Section, OR in Kale's very own Signature. One place you can find the

Ally Set in action is in Edge of Justice.

Edge of Justice, is a Fan-Fiction, created by the very own Kale. With only ten chapters out, Kale seems to have the most

popular Fan-Fiction out at the moment, with over 600 Posts and over 5,000 Views. Also in Edge of Justice, you can view

something new that has recently been found to be a great success in Kale's Fan-Fic, the custom duel mats, edited with

the situations in which occur in the story. It first started with Regular Duel mats, which later progressed into actual

Duel Disks.

Kale's Duel Disk creation, has inspired other members to use them in their fan-ic aswell. If you are interested in recieving

these special Duel Disks, you can visit Kale's Shop, Tersus Effercio. You can find many items there including the Duel

Disks, created by Kale. Another very interesting fact about Kale's shop, is the fact it happens to be the most popular

thread in it's section aswell. The shop itself reached over 1000 posts already and over 8000 views.

It is true you can say, this member alone has brought some small, but great contributions to the forum, and I, aswell as

many others would say, Continue to bring more to the forums, because it is members like Kale, that keep the Forum alive.

This brings us to the end of this week's Member Tribute, I would like to ask all our reader's to read his Fan-Fic, rate

his amazing Ally Set, and browze the many and rare items of his shop.

Hmm is there anyway to send it through the PM system?

and this would take alot of calculations

but maybe, take the shops, or something

and then just like an actual newspaper, make like the stock market page?

maybe have obituaries (sp) for those members who were left or banned, or something.

maybe for sports, contests can take that spot.

and then for the communits page, maybe clubs?

and have like weekly aritsts? you know instead of just comics

there could be art work, like sigs and stuff as well?

Hmm, an interesting idea. I would love to help out.

I have noticed that many members wish the banned thread was revived, so perhaps we could have a section where we list that information so people can access it if they wish. Also, I see that a couple people above have mentioned a name change section, and I think that could be useful as well. It would be a snap to transfer over the information from the Guru thread into the newsletter.

That's all I can think of currently :P

maybe have obituaries (sp) for those members who were left or banned' date=' or something.

[/quote']

LOL!

it would be pretty cool if me and glasstin could have an "advise" section / "a word of advise to be a good member" sort of thing.

(that is if glasstin would like to do it. I am alright working alone. ^_^)

I think it would be a good ideas to give advise to the newer people.

Plus, I like the stock idea bloodrun had. I would be at the top. XD
