nope, its still a 100% mystery. But if you look at the current paterns, im sure you can almost figure it out yourself.

The way i see it its dark, that means it has 3 types, Spellcaster, Fiend, or Zombie. What do dark monsters do? they destrou correct? Well zaborg has that job, so thats out. What else do they do? the negate, almost useless for a monster whos effect only activates once. So... there is only one thing left. Remove from play. But now what will be removed? alot of dark monsters affect the field and graveyard, but a few also involves the hand. i guess we just wont know until it comes out, but my prediction is, A dark, lvl 6 fiend. Remove 1 card on the field from play when summoned.

Technically the Monarchs aren't going by the different Attributes, they're going by the Japanese Elements which are:

Fire

Water

Earth

Wind

Lightning

There is no Dark Element in there, so there probably won't be a Dark Monarch

Although, there is an OCG card that LOOKS like a dark monarch, but... can't really be considered one, because of it's level and stats :(

It wouldn't be that, because then he'd totally surpass Zaborg. The Monarchs, if you note, never DIRECTLY overlap one another. Zaborg slightly clashes with Granmarg, who clashes with Mobius, and they all clash with Raiza (OMFG! RAIZA!!11eleven!) then you have Thestalos, who's a law unto himself what with the hand.

I think it might be "destroy 1 face-up card on the field", just as Granmarg destroys set cards. I'm sure that they won't be able to surpass the sheer incredibility of Raiza while keeping it a fair, stay-at-3 card.

perhaps return a RANDOM card from the hand to the deck instead of send one to the graveyard? Forceful Sentry FTW :P

  • 4 months later...

Huh, forgot about this...

I'm pretty sure my original idea was correct they just wanted to make more Monarchs to feed us. Although, given that there are 2 Light Monarchs, I think it's safe to assume that they weren't necessarily concerned about Attributes when they were creating them... or maybe not, idk.
