J-Max
Lately I have seen a few clubs pop up which do things like & I quote "Anti Double Post Squad" Things like these are for the Mods to take care of, just Report & move on. Seriously, It's going to be the Fail Police all over again if Groups like that keep popping up.
Ultimate Ryan
true, true, and true! It will be fail police all over again, just with a different name >.
Tefached
well i myself ignore this clubs, but my problem with that section is the pop-up of Official clubs
J-Max
I usually ignore them but I often notice certain ones and have a quick peek inside and it annoys me a little.
Luna Lovegood
But the thing is, I find mods don't do much about double posters or spammer, so this is to help people know who does it.
J-Max
That's what the Report button & Even PM the Mods if you see a repeat Spammer. I'm just backing up the forum with this Topic. There are things in use, Use them.
Luna Lovegood
This is just me personnally. I think there is to mch double posting, and this is a way of people knowing who does it.
J-Max
If you know then Tell the Mods. What your group is, is almost Mini Modding. We have plenty of great Mods :)
Luna Lovegood
If you are making a club and you don't want double posters, there is no way of figuring out if they are double posters except looking throgh all their threads, and that 100s
J-Max
Then do what I do. Just go to the topics you like, You spot a Double Poster or Spammer ten you Report them! There's usually always a Mod on to take care of it. Look I understand you mean well but I get memories of the Fail Police every time I see a club like yours pop up. Luna Lovegood
I still think that keeping a public list would help. I don't care who makes it. I just like the idea of a public list.
J-Max
Then perhaps this is a question we can pit forward to the Mods. Temp Bans are also a Option (They do get used from time to time)
Luna Lovegood
But maybe, a frum where only mods can post and they keep a list of double posters? Us regular folk could use the report button and they list it!
J-Max
Exactly! But you never know. They may have a list just like that ;) But this isn't just about your Group, this is about the others that Pop up as well. The "Anti n00bs" thing makes it sound like a Witch Hunt. Luna Lovegood
Too true. But the lst has to be public, otherwise it i of no use to use regular folk. LOL
Judαs
I am also against these clubs, because: • They defame members who do not always intentionally double post. • Some new members do not know about the EDIT button, so they double post to fix their previous post. • The club members might mistakingly consider BUMPs as double posts. • It isn't unlikely for someone to accidentally post the same message again, e.g. when it seems as if your post isn't getting posted so you click on the 'Post Reply' button again. Like others already stated, just leave it to the mods, guys ^_^
JesusofChaos™
These clubs are plain wrong, stop mini modding and let the mods do their jobs. The report button is there for a reason.
