Kyub
@SGY: Well, I argue that they're different, considering manipulation does not have to be subtle, i.e. blackmail, threats, and that subtlety is simply doing things without other people noticing, meaning that your powers are technically geared toward stealth and, to simplify to it's most crude form, simply controlling other people. Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
Well, you can't exactly blackmail someone and have the world know about it, can you? I suppose my powers are geared towards manipulation, and therefore subtlety simultaneously.
Kyub
But manipulation doesn't have to be subtle.
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
The manipulation itself, no. But the act of doing so must remain subtle, as society discourages coercion. But whatever. We have more powers than you.

Da Pokemon Lord
Focus...focus, said a young man in his mind. His eyes were tightly closed as he focused on a glass on the counter. He quickly opened his eyes, which were glowing an eerie purple. The glass was soon surrounded by a purple aura and floated into the air. "Devin, honey?" shouted a voice from across the house. The glass quickly shattered on the floor as the boy lost concentration. "Yea?" he replied. He was rushing to pick up the shattered pieces before his mother could walk into the room. It was already too late; Devin's mom saw him picking up the glass shards. "That is the third glass this week, Devin. You are getting out of hand with your powers. If you don't know how to focus them yourself, then maybe your father and I should send you away," Devin's mother said as she sat down. She raised her hand and a white glow came from it. The glass shards all floated into the air and reassembled themselves back into a whole glass. "No! I can master my powers by myself!" Devin shouted. "No. You will go to the same academy your father and I went to: the Maximillion F. Livingston Academy for the Genitically Gifted," Devin's mother said as she pulled out a pamphlet from her purse. "I don't want to go here! They don't teach you anything!" Devin shouted as he flipped through the book. "Can't you send me to the J. White School for Alters? All my other Alter friends are going there!" "No. Go pack your things. I have already enrolled you. You were going to go regardless," Devin's mother said. "Darn," Devin grunted as he marched upstairs to pack his bag. Devin heard the door open. "I'm home!" shouted a man. "Dad!" Devin shouted. He ran downstairs to greet his father. "Hey, sport! I heard the news; you're going to the Academy!" Devin's father said. "How did you know?" Devin asked looking at his mother. "I sent a telepathic message," she said. "He broke another glass today, Michael." "That's the third glass this week, Jenna." Devin's father said. A loud beep was heard outside the door. "I think that's the Academy bus. Better get on!" Devin's father walked Devin outside to greet the bus driver. Devin boarded the bus with his stuff and sat down grudgingly. "Please take care of my son," Devin's mother said. "No problem, ma'am," the bus driver replied. "Next stop, the Academy!" A horde of cheers was heard as the bus drove away. "Do you think he'll be okay?" Jenna asked. "Yea. If he is like Granddad, then he'll be fine," Michael replied.
Da Pokemon Lord
OoC: BUMP! IC:Devin awoke suddenly as the bus jerked to a stop. As he looked out the window, his jaw dropped; he was at the entrance to one of the most beautiful buildings he had ever seen. As he looked around outside, he could see people flying in the air. He saw waves of energy radiate about everywhere. "Is this the Academy?" Devin asked the bus driver. "Yep. This is your new home for 4 years," the driver said back. "4 YEARS!!!" Devin shouted. "Yep. Your folks didn't tell you that? Oh, well. It's too late to go back now. Once you step foot on campus, you can't turn back," the driver said. "Well I want to go home!" Devin shouted. "Too late for that, too. I'm not permitted to pick up anymore students until next quarter. Have fun!" the driver said as Devin stepped off the bus with his bags. He looked around at the astonishing view, taking in every moment he could. This was soon interrupted when a girl ran into him. "I'm sorry. Didn't see you standing there," she said as she looked at the ground. "It's okay. Do you know your way around the campus?" Devin asked. "Like the back of my hand! Follow me to your room," she said. The girl led Devin to a large room that was complete with a bed, bathroom, and desk to do his work. "Thanks. What's your name?" Devin asked. "Vera. Vera O'Reilly. Nice to meet you!" the girl said as she continued looking at the floor. "Devin. Devin Harrison. Why do you keep looking at the floor?" Devin asked. There was a long pause. Devin asked again. "I'm blind," the girl finally said. "You're blind!" Devin said in shock. "You're blind and you led me here!" "Yes. I can see the auras of the things around me. The auras emanate from a shape that I 'see'. Since I see many auras at once, when I look up, I see a bright blue. Everything else is black with a white outline showing detail. When I look at you, I ca see the shape of your eyes, but not your eye color," Vera explained. She walked away and ran down the hall. "Whoa. This school is weird," Devin said to himself as he sat on his bed. "Get up! We have work to do!" a voice shouted from nowhere. "What the heck!" Devin shouted. Suddenly, two people appeared in front of Devin, one wearing white, the other wearing black. "We are your teachers. Get dressed so you may go!" One of the said. "Who are you?" Devin asked them both. "Who are we? We are the most recognizable duo in the Alter universe. All Alters know who we are. We are masters at the Light and Dark energies. We are Yin and Yang." They said as they sudden;y disappeared. You will learn to do that in time..., they said in Devin's mind. "Whoa," Devin said. That's all he said: whoa. Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
OoC: Correct me if I'm mistaken. Sorry it's so short; I have to go. IC: Briana walked placidly off the bus and began wandering the campus, mildly observing other students milling about in awed discussion of the frankly impressive grounds. Still, awe was a form of weakness, and hence impermissible. Upon entrance to the massive building, she found every room was labeled. Curious, she duplicated herself into four copies. Each copy began wandering the halls, seeking her sanctuary. Eventually, one found the correct room; the group reformed on the spot and entered. Before she could close the door behind her, though, a voice said, "You seem quite proficient at duplication."
Da Pokemon Lord
Devin put on some comfortable clothes and walked outside the hall. As he was walking, he saw a girl duplicate herself into four copies. He continued walking and soon reached a large open field where many students were with teachers. "Where are they?" Devin asked himself. "Anywhere we like to be," one of them answered. It was the one dressed in white. "You're Yin!" Devin exclaimed. "Yes. I am going to teach you how to master your Light Energy. Light Energy is around us 50% of the time. The other 50% is controlled by Dark Energy. I, Yin, am most powerful during the day. My brother Yang is most powerful at night. The only time that the Light and Dark Energies are at equal power is when the moon and the sun are directly across from each other. This is known as the Horizon of Equality. At 7:43 pm, I want you to meet me out here. Yang and I will teach you how to master your Dark and Light energies during the Horizon of Equality. See you soon," Yin explained. He vanished into thin air, leaving Devin standing there looking dumbfounded.
