My First Fan-Fic ~ In a World of Duel Monsters...

Ths fan-fic is not about Duelists, iit is about the monsters duelists use and their adventures..

 

Introduction

 

Each Duel Monster has 4000 Life Points + their DEF stat x3. If they are attacked, they lose Life Points equal to the attacking monsters attack. Unlike in the card game, any card can attack any card without being automatically destroyed by battle, but their attack may result in the opposing monster lashing-out on them and obliiterating them, what fun. ^_^ Monsters can also use Spell and Trap cards, although I've altered the effects of some of them, so they can't destroy hordes of enemies with a single Lightning Vortex/Raigeki. The world of Duel Monsters is divided into 6 countries. The Land of Wind, the Land of Earth, The Land of Fire, The Land of Water, The Land of Light, The Land of Dark, The Land of Order, and the Land of Chaos. These countries are warring constantly. I can use my custom cards, if I use them, they'll be posted. Now begins the story...

 

Chapter 1:

 

A middle-aged worn-out looking swordsman yawned. He hadn't slept in 3 days. He was constantly trying to recruit new young warriors to join The Land of Earth's army. One of his comerades, a massive warrior clad in stone armor, shouted across the hills to him.

 

"Hey Masaki!" he roared, "ya gotta relax, you're taking this too seriously, be human once in awhile." The middle-aged legend replied to the Giant Soldier of Stone.

 

"Don't be foolish. The number of Harpy attacks has dramatically increased in the past weeks, if we let our card down, we'll be clawed-up piles of bones. Remember what happened to Wildheart? He was one of our best soldiers, now he's dead, just like we'll all be if we don't strengthen our defenses. This war has gone on too long, it's time Harpie Queen and Princess of Tsurugi were buried six feet under the sacred earth."

 

Just as he spoke, several purple figures with green wings let out screeches as they soared in through the sky.

 

"Take positions, don't let them in!' Masaki yelled to his troops.

 

Battle! ~ Masaki the Legendary Swordsman vs Harpie Lady 2

 

Masaki: LP ~ 7300 B-Class Harpie Lady ~ 8200

 

A harpy curved downward and slammed a claw into Masaki, who parried the blow and hacked at the harpy's wingtip with his sword for 1100 damage. The Harpie let out a screech as it took to the air.

 

 

 

"In the honorable Queen, I will kiiiiiiil you!!!!" the Harpie screeched.

 

The harpie found new strength as it smashed a talonb through Masaki's helmet, which barely deflected the blow, he took 600 damage from the impact as his head rang with the sound of the ferocious clash. "You monster, die!" Masaki roared as he recovered. He arched his sword elegently and slashed with lightning speed as he slammed in 2 blows in quick succesion for 2200 damage, majorly damaging both wings. The Harpy staggered around as a pool of blood poured out. Masaki wasn't about to show his hated enemy anything close to pity. He stapped it trough the chest 3 times (3300), the harpy feinted from the blood loss, so he dragged it into a nearby Trap Hole, a prison pit. She'd be kept their for now. She was alive, but barely.

 

Masaki ~ 6700 B-Class Harpy Lady: 1600

 

Masaki gazed around him, his bloodlust and battle spirit flowing through him after the battle. His colleagues were also battling the mass of Harpies back, some of them weren't doing too well, he rushed to the scene, throwing his damaged helmet aside, it wouldn't do him any good.

 

He'd have to get another helmet later from an Iron Blacksmith in the land of fire. The best one for the job would be Kotetsu, who supplied them with many swords in exchange for Star Chips, the currancy of the Duel Monsters.

 

Dashing through, he came to the aid of his captain, who went by the codename "Marauding Captain" who was finishing off a C-Class Harpy. (Harpie Lady 3). "Thanks for getting over here so quick, but I'm done here, we'll go help Yariza, he seems to be having some difficulty."

 

This concludes Chapter 1, hope ya liked it. ^_^

NICE. You should make an RPG of this. I love the concept, and it's good you described the action. You should use novel format, though.

A refreshing read. A nice choice to previously kill off a highly recognisible monster before the beginning of the story to show the seriousness of the situation.

 

I like the idea of "Star Chips" as currency. My questions are:

1) Is the nations of Fire and Earth allied in this war?

2) Which is nation would be the "richest".

3) If almost all of the E-Heros have different attributes, are they still working together even though they are on opposite sides?

1) The nations kinda war with their opposites so Fire vs. Water, Wind vs. Earth, Dark vs. Light, Chaos vs. Order, but non-opposites are kinda neutral and at peace with eachother.

 

2) Light is the richest. ^_^

 

3) E-Heroes, Gladiator Beasts, etc. are just travellers who aren't part of the army of any attriibute and just go around doin' stuff and mercenary work etc. They can fight eachother though if they get on eachother's bad sides. ^_^
