kuraz's effect

Recommended Posts

but other monarcs are simply better becuase 1 they can attack and 2 you don't need to blow up your stuff to get any use out of them

Comparing it to other Monarchs is not an argument why this card is bad. Why would you compare it to other monarchs? Because they have the same word in their name? This card simply has other uses than other Monarchs.

why would i do that when hes going to be killed next turn anyway

That is exactly a reason to kill it. Why WOULND'T you?

Myself and my friend both use kuraz in different ways my friend use's Kuraz like have two creator on the field draw a card for draw phase, summon kuraz draw a card, destroy kuraz draw a card, summon kuraz again draw a card, then destroy kuraz draw card, that is 5 card per turn when he beat me he had 8 cards left in his deck i had 30. i use Kuraz to have a good monster to wipe the field and have him for a wall since my a opponent has nothing on the field since i use its effect or destroy it self get a card and resummon it.

Kuraz is completely rubbish unless you run a monarch deck, ditch him in favour of something better, e.g. d.d. warrior lady, that can attack the turn it's summoned and if necessary you can destroy any monster without the opponent drawing. If you want to destroy spells and traps use dark magician and dark magic attack

Kuraz has a lot of potential.

It's just hard to tap into competitively.

A card that is chained to the destruction target effect of Kuraz still gets to draw. That's because in a chain, Spell and Trap Cards that go to the Graveyard after activation do not go to the Graveyard until all effects in the Chain have resolved (unless the effects of a chain activate when a card is destroyed, like Kuraz's does.)

I'll explain.

Your opponent has a face-up Sangan and a set spell/trap when you summon Kuraz.

You target both for the destruction effect (even though that would just be stupid...but it's to prove a point).

Your opponent activates Threatening Roar. (In a case where your opponent chains Torrential Tribute, I'm unsure of the resolution, but I believe Torrential will destroy both, and be sent to the Graveyard before Kuraz resolves, because I believe Torrential will miss its timing if targeted, as it responds to a summon...and I'm pretty sure it misses timing if it's targeted by an effect that happens when summoned. The summon happens before the effect...I think. :S)

A chain resolves.

Chain Link 1 : The effect of "Kuraz The Light Monarch"

Chain Link 2 : The effect of "Threatening Roar"

The effect of Threatening Roar activates. Any other monsters you control cannot declare an attack that turn.

The effect of Kuraz activates. Because Threatening Roar is part of a chain, it is still waiting for the rest of the Chain to resolve before it is sent to the Graveyard. I don't know if a Normal Spell/Trap Card's own mechanic of sending itself to the Graveyard has a Spell Speed, but regardless, let's say it was; it'd be Spell Speed 1. Kuraz is Spell Speed 2, and would therefore destroy it before Threatening Roar manually sent itself to the Graveyard. Because it was sent to the Graveyard, it is therefore a draw engine before your opponent.

Your opponent draws 2 cards because of Kuraz's effect.

Sangan resolves; your opponent gets a monster with 1500 or less ATK.

Pardon the confusion; I'm not a judge :S

some one please lock this topic becuase i just read the dumest thing ever

Did you read one of your own posts?

This card is going to be crazy broken when we get Arms Hole in the TCG. Imagine for the low price of 800 life points per time, you can activate pot of greed 4 times in one turn!!! That is what Kuraz + Premature Burial is: Pot of greed for 800 life points. With something like that you can build all kinds of OTK decks...

...Wait a minute, they are already using him like that in OCG world...

one thing i don't understand is why they feel the need to keep making monarcs i would asume its because they know people will buy them

Yeah, there's pretty much no reason why Kuraz is a monarch. We already have a light monarch and he is totally different from all the other ones.

guess its all about the money

I don't think thats the correct answer. I don't know what the answer is, but I don't think it is that for one reason:

Kuraz is not a TCG exclusive. In japan they are not really about the money and that is why Dark Armed Dragon is a regular rare over there.
