JesusofChaos™
I just summoned LaDD but it got Solemn'd. Does LaDD's last effect to destroy my field and ss a monster from my grave still activate? I summoned Artemis and it got Solemn'd. I chained with Dark Bribe and the chain was over. Do I still draw cards for Artemis' effect? Ok both this questions are very similar. First of all my must understand when a monster is consider summoned. Cards such as bottomless trap hole and torrential tribute require the monster to be successfully summoned before they can activate. This is why they cannot chain to Jinzo’s summon as when Jinzo is successfully summoned his continuous effect stops traps. In your first question the answer is however Yes. This is because Solemn Judgment negates the summon and destroys. This means the monster never hits the field but it is destroyed by solemn activating the effect. In the second question the answer is no. When Artemis is summoned and solemn’d it is not consider to be successfully summoned' date=' thus it cannot activate its effect. Even if the solemn is bribed, the cards have been activated before Artemis has been successfully summoned, thus you cannot draw I destroyed an atk mode monster with Kycoo and inflicted damage from that battle. Am I still able to remove the monster I just destroyed with Kycoo's effect? The answer to this is no due to a timing issue. When Kycoo inflicts damage the monster has not yet been sent to the graveyard, first of all kycoo removes the targets then the monster it battled with is sent to the graveyard. ]Can I use the effect of Royal Oppression on Searchers? Also' date=' what about after Van'Dalgyon Resolves? Are the answers the same for Thunderking/Raoiu? [/quote'] With the royal oppression the answer is no, because when a searcher is destroyed, the monster that is special is special summoned in the damage step. In the damage step only spell speed 2 effects that affect Atk/Def can be activated. However after that card has been activated, it can be negated with a counter. When Van’Dalgyon resolves its own special summon, it is too late to use royal oppressions effect. However, when Van, Dalgyon tries to special summon itself, it must wait until the chain which a counter trap is activated in has resolved. It then starts a new chain for its special summoning, Here you may negate the special summoning of the dark dragon. Also Royal Oppression can be used to negate the special summon of the monster from Van’Dalgyon’s effect. On the subject of Van’ Dalgyon id like to add something else. If you opponent activates shrink in the damage step and you negate it with dark bribe, you cannot special summon Van Dalgyon. This because it is still the damage step and as Van Dalgyon starts a new chain for its special summoning, it cannot be special summoned. I cannot comment on thunderking as no official TCG rulings have been released. What would happen if Prime Material Dragon and Reficul/Bad Reaction were on the field and someone used a card inflicting damage? Now this is a very strange thing because Konami have not actually released any official ruling on this. Thus we cannot be 100% certain on the ruling. If you get into this situation' date=' the head judge must make a difficult decision. Tournament safety so cards don't get stolen. Stuff about tournaments would be helpful. Here common sense reins supreme. If you are carrying a bag, make sure to keep it with you at all times. Put it under the table when duelling or next to you, maybe touching your leg so you can feel if anyone attempts to enter the bag. Also don’t ever leave anyone looking at your trade folder. Focus on one trade at a time. Do not get distracted. If you really must leave your stuff, either leave with another family member, or if you are on your own, see if you can leave behind the counter of the shop. Most owners are more than willing. However if your cards are stolen, the first step is to report it to the head judge, he will go around asking when he gets time to see if anyone mistakenly pick them up. If you still cannot get them back, then you must find out yourself who stole them. If you can find out report them to head judge and he/she will take them aside. Just remember judges can’t be the police as well, use common sense to look after your cards.
Exiro
Once again, good job, JoC. You are really showing why you deserve to be a mod here. But unfortunately, I can spot an error again. LaDD states that his effect of nuking your field and summoning 1 from your grave activates when he is destroyed, not when he is destroyed while face-up. And Solemn states that it negates the summon and destroys the card. This automatically triggers LaDD's effect, and it is mandatory. His effect would in fact activate even when he is destroyed by the effect of CCV. Double-check the answers next time ;)
