J-Max
Before I begin I again thank the Mods for putting Leaving/Return into Games. I now have another request and a lot of people are not going to like it..... I have noticed that the Introductions Section has turned really Bland and Boring lately. Some people literally type 1 word Responses over and over again such as "Welcome" Or "Enjoy your stay" Not caring for the person. So my request is that this Section does not count for Post Count anymore. It will hurt the Flooders the most. But I think it is a major step in the right direction. The Slime Lord
I have suggested turning off post count before. Last time I tried, nothing came out of it. Oh well, I'm still for it. I'll just post what I posted in the thread I made before. I think post count should be turned off in the Intros Section. Just like how it is in the Games Sub-Section. Lately' date=' people such as Professor Cobra, Darkness King2007, Faded, Lucas Maximus (hasn't done it as much as he was before), etc. have been posting in there just so they can increase their post count. Most of the time, people say the same things over and over again. It's becoming really bothersome. Especially because they don't even read the posts above them and just say freakishly short things like "welcome". And it's especially annoying when members bump a very old thread, just to say "welcome" to a member who hasn't been on in months. Anyway, I think should post count be turned off in Intros. Yay or nay? [/quote']
J-Max
Just read it Slimey and agree. Not pointing fingers but Professor Cobra is the main reason I brought this up. I also figured maybe people would listen to me ;) I dunno it really irritates me at times and had to bring it into the open. Just as I did with Leaving/Return and Xin did with the Picture thread. The Slime Lord
As a mod of that section (yeah, I mod both General and Intros in case some people didn't know), it bothers me too. Imagine what would happen if post count gets turned off there. Sooo many people would lose so many posts, to the people who lose hundreds (or thousands), honestly, it would be hilarious. Or hilariously sad. What's the point of even coming here if all you're going to do is welcome a bunch of members who are likely to post just once? J-Max
EXACTLY! A few people were not happy when thier posts went down due to the Leaving/Return move. And again it would show the true feelings of people rather then just a single word Copy and Pasted over and over again. Can't really say anything bad about Custom Cards but I do notice it there too. Things like "Nice Card" & "10/10" If I was a Mod there I would work with Dj and Brows to sort that out. That's another story though. I do feel for you as well. Having to put up with it on a Daily basis. I just hope that you can take this into consideration. It would reduce Flooding a ton. That's part of the reason the Forum gets Errors. So many Crap Posts. It would reduce Flooding a ton. That's part of the reason the Forum gets Errors. So many Crap Posts. Thanks. But I honestly don't put up with it on a daily basis anymore. When I first became a mod about four months ago, I did, but once I proposed this idea and nothing happened, I later realized I couldn't do anything about it, so I just gave up and stopped caring about it. As for taking this idea into consideration, I already have. If I was able to turn off post count in that section, I would in a heart beat. But I can't. I already made an unsuccessful thread in the mods forum about this, but let's see what the Supers and other mods say about this one now.
Larxene
This is why I rarely post there.... -.-I agree with this completelyAlthough I doubt that anyone is going to do anything about this unfortunately ~Clariex
J-Max
Don't count the idea out Claire. I fought hard for Leaving/Return. Noticed that hardly anyone Attention Seeks now? That's a great thing. I'm just fighting for the Forum, Doing the right thing. Do you want to Log on everyday to see a ton of Introduction topics with one word responses? I sure don't. Today I have experienced extensive errors. The server can't take the strain of so many messages. if the messages actually had meaning to them you would see a daily reduction of between 30-40% of Posts. Larxene
The damn flooding might be one of the reasons for all of the server crashes recently And if that's true, that's just another great reason why they should get rid of the post count there ~Clariex
Pikachu
wow, how true.....i've never seen anyone spam in that section before, at least not me. i agree too
J-Max
You've seen no-one Spam? Look at the Posting History of certain members and you will see "Welcome to YCM" or "Welcome" At least over half the posts they make.
Wyhe
Yeah, most of those posts are just very basic stuff & the aim seemed to be more of getting more posts
The Slime Lord
Does anyone else support turning off post count in Intros? Members that will remain unnamed (who are also known as Hunter, Death Metal, and Immortal_Deity_Stratos) are abusing it to gain free posts and points by copying and pasting the same message over and over again. I just copy and paste the same messages as I don't know what else to say. But I think it should be turned off. I been on a few forums that they had it turned off. J-Max
Like I said before Slimey (You don't mind me calling you that?) I wouldn't be bringing this up other wise. I'll tell you guys the Pros again- Less Posts means less errors for the Forum.- More thought will be put into other Areas. My next Target in the future may be Custom Cards if I keep seeing no thought put into posts there. But then I ask myself. "Why am I making such a big deal about Post Counts?" Well the awnswer to that is some people regard it as a Status Symbol and they will do ANYTHING to get it.
Bloodrun
I support this 100%to many members are just incing away with post freedomand therefore, post count increase should be taken away..

Well the awnswer to that is some people regard it as a Status Symbol and they will do ANYTHING to get it. I often think the same thing to myself and come up with the exact answer. I guess some people think they'll look cool if they have a high post count. When it comes down to it, it's better to be a member with about 100-200 good, descriptive, thoughtful, etc. posts than a member with thousands of posts that came from copying and pasting in the Intros, Custom Cards, Polls sections. Yeah. That hit the nail on the head. (And I don't mind being called "Slimey", "Slime", "TSL", or whatever ;-)) @Immortal_Deity_Stratos: If you don't know what to say, just don't say anything at all. J-Max
I understand that Bloody (Even you have a nickname now ;)) But it irritates me seeing the weak posts people do Things like 9/10 doesn't justify it. When I rate a card I always say a little about how I feel about it.

Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
I very much support this movement. Seeing an obviously c/p'd message to welcome you to a massive forum such as YCM is very disheartening.
Kale
i am for this. ^_^ i too have seen to bland, boring comments that dont exactly want to welcome people... thats why i dont do that. i always write more towards the new-comers so they actually feel invited. ^_^ so i am for this, to avoid dramatic post count rises too...
