Neg Reps

Recommended Posts

You can only technicaly neg if someone does something that breaks a forum rule, correct? So can you neg if someone posts the same comment on several different threads even though what they posted was true??

Can a mod or high level member answer??

Thanks for the help,

Mod here.

Depends on what is said and how many times they do it. Take the Intros section for example. Threads in there are "supposed" to be die relatively quickly. If someone frequently comes in and keeps about two-thirds of the threads first page alive by just saying "welcome", "welcome to the forum", "welcome to YCM", or some other short response, then yes, in my opinion, that's a good enough reason to neg them. In essence, it's considered flooding, which is generally not allowed in forums such as this one.

Actually Slimey, a lot of People just put short words in for a easy Post increase. To some people Post Count is like Religion. I hardly ever post there. 4/5 of the Newbies will post a few times and leave anyway.

Hmmmm I was wondering if maybe you could take something into consideration... I won't say anymore here. I don't want to Spam this thread.

Looks like more than ten times to me.

In all honesty, I'm going to say that is worthy of a neg. All you were doing was saying that there were problems, but you weren't addressing the individual problems and weren't providing any help on how they could improve, therefore making said posts useless and unhelpful.

Though in the end it's not really my say. If you want it removed, you can try PMing the guy who gave you the neg or post in Rep Complaint Thread in the General section.

@Jspa: I have brought up turning off post count in the Intros section before, but nothing happened.
