ShinobiDark72
I'm having an argument with a friend, He said He has no need for Judgment Dragon in His LS deck and considers it done with out it. He says He would rather side deck JD if He had it. What do the rest of you think?
luffy789
hmm. that depends. what's in his deck?
ShinobiDark72
I'm actually not sure. He just keeps arguing that he doesn't need Ehren, JD, Beckoning Light, Honest or Necro Gardna. (Yes I know Honest is optional) His argument is "It's faster, I deal more damage, and it's all offense" I say He needs defense for it to be better, but He hasn't listened to Me.. luffy789
well in my opinion you're both right. the best defense is a good offense. but you do need defense to fall back on in case you start losing. for my decks, i balance them. tell him to try balancing his deck. if it doesn't work, it's up to him to decide whether or not he wants an offensive or defensive deck. Tickle Me Emo
i know who Shadow37ninja is talking about. The guy is a bad player and he took a very powerful deck and made a few "modifications" to it, making it slower than it should be, and a lot worse. A real LS deck should be able to pull out JD second turn at the latest. Ive seen people with REAL and GOOD LS decks pull JD 1st turn. Trust me when I say it, hes bad, and his deck is bad. He needs JD.
Mr. Judgment Dragon
Im usually always able to pull out JD in the first few turns in my Lightsworn deck, well in the Lightsworn deck I netdecked anyway.

Without JD, you just destroyed Lightlords' win condition. GG.

Guest PikaPerson01
With JD, you're just milling without a real purpose and no win condition. The lightsworn might as well not have their mill condition and you'd be playing pretty much the same cards. Also, your friend's a terrible player. Mr. Judgment Dragon
Lightsworn's milling can become a good thing with Beckoning Light and stuff like that. JD OTK anyone?
JesusofChaos™
Why does everyone who wants to prove a point use their 'friend' as an example. Use real facts from decent players please
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
Lol. That's like saying, "I don't need DAD in my DAD deck," or "I don't need Gyzarus in my Glad Beast deck." Your friend is fail; JD is necessary. "It's fasterMaybe, but... I deal more damageLOL. I mean, really, what the hell is he thinking, he does more damage without a 3000-ATK field-nuking beatstick? and it's all offense"Who cares? Without JD, you'll have decked yourself before you did anything.
Mr. Judgment Dragon
JD + Field Nuke + 2x JD = Overkill.
Static
Goldshine, you only need 1 JD to nuke, and then 1 more judgment dragon. Guardian of order can sub for the third ;) Also, Honest is not needed. He's not a lightsworn, doesn't help to get judgment dragon out, and its only use is for blowing up LaDD. Or if theres something else thats good that it does, someone enlighten (no pun intended) me on the matter, because all of my friends, some of whom actually good players, could not figure out any other reason. Yogg-Saron
Judgment Dragon is always a must in a LS deck. I was playing with my friend who got it first turn by using 2 Hand Destructions.

Hand destruction wastes too many cards if it doesnt instantly let you get out JD.
tekkaman01
I am going to be a little crazy and go against what practically everyone is saying. A Lightsworn deck without JD can be done, and it can be good. Celestia, Lightsworn Angel would be the focus of the deck instead of JD. I know this to be a fact because when I first started playing lightsworn, this is how I built the deck considering I didn't have JDs. Facts:Most players don't commit a lot to the field, so Celestia, could potentially, and usually will, clear just as big an opening as JD. JD requires ZERO skill!!! If you built a deck without and win, that is a point to show you are a good player. If you do not run JD, then you don't have to run a bunch of different lightsworn, you can cut it down, and run more of certain ones making the deck more consistent. With no JD you have access to another draw card that people who run JD can't... Pot of avarice! No one here can tell me that 2 extra draw cards in a deck are bad. If you do, you are a bad player, and I feel sorry for you. Sense you don't have to worry about keeping 4 different lightsworn in your graveyard this card won't slow your win condition, it will speed it up. After reading all of the coverage of different shonen jump championships and national level tournaments, I noticed that a lot of people had 3 dead cards in their hand do to the fact they couldn't get enough lightsworns in their graveyard and lost the game before they could get JD to the field. You may think I am crazy, But I know that I have made some very valid points. Maybe, just maybe I might change a couple minds about this matter. Thanks. HORUS
Wow, really? Why would you NOT have Judgment Dragon in a LS deck?
