Lol you know the word Hor is the Icelandic word for Booger. Funny fact

anyhoo i knew that Venus would be in the tournie since he's inviting only psychics to it.

Hor is also Singlish for asking another's person attention or support

but I styled it to sound like Crane in Cantonese

There's a reason for the choices indeed

This is not an intended double post, but I have the new chapter up online...
In the Oregeorgian Medical Site that was built to help people during the Chimeratech crisis earlier on since the hospital itself was destroyed during the incident, Teong was being treated by the various doctors. Norman & Charles were waiting outside the tent, when the group of doctors walked out.

“Doctors, how is Mr. Teong?” asked Norman.

“Mr. Teong is now in a stable condition, but he still needs a rest,” said a doctor as he walked off along with his colleagues.

“Well, at least Teong is alright,” said Charles, “but we still have no time to lose. We must test 2 particular people by tonight.”

“Are you mad!” snapped Norman, “We nearly lost Teong & the world would be destroyed because of us! I won’t stand for it!”

“It’s not by our choice that everything developed to its current form, Norman,” said Charles, “I shall stay here with Teong, while you contact Genevieve on her assignment.”

“But…” said Norman.

“I never accept the word ‘but’, just do it!” said Charles firmly as he walked into the tent.

George’s Hill was a hilly area of Oregeorgia reserved purely for the rich. The area had an ocean view with a beach nearby & was well-known to have spectacular scenery. On the edge of the cliff was the grand mansion belonging to Lady Genevieve, a young unmarried woman. Besides her, the only other member living there was Bastion, her ever-loyal butler.

In her mansion, Genevieve was sunbathing on the balcony of her mansion in her white bikini. There was a device similar to a vending machine beside her. She pushed a button & a glass cup of wine came out of a mechanism of the machine. She took it & then took a small sip of it as she watched the news.

“In regards to today’s Chimeratech Overdragon incident, Kaiba Corporation’s Head of Power Supply, Akutsu, had this to say.”

The screen was switched from the newscaster to Akutsu & a group of scientists in white coats. Suddenly, Akutsu jumped up on top of the table & made a rotating motion.

“Kaiba Corp. has no relation to what happened today! The fact that the Solid Vision system have been more & more realistic over the decades can’t be denied, but bringing holograms to life is still a dream to us,” said Akutsu.

“Also, Industrial Illusions Chairman, Yugi Tenma, had this to say as well.”

The screen was switched to Yugi Tenma in a press conference room with the other shareholders.

“Despite our involvement in the creation of Duel Monsters, Industrial Illusions have no relation to this matter. That was simply an isolated incident & I have no further comments on the issue.”

“As you can see, both companies have denied claims of any involvement with the Chimeratech incident. However, the FBI are conducting a throughout research on the matter.”

“Excuse me, milady,” said Bastion from behind, “I mean you no intentions in my rudeness, but Mr. Norman White had been just called you.”

“Oh really? Put him online,” said Genevieve.

“As you wish, milady,” said Bastion as he handed her the phone.

“Yah, Norman, what’s up?” asked Genevieve.

“Hey there. Charles had just asked you to go to this place tonight and…” said Norman.

“Is that all?” said Genevieve, “Don’t you have anything else to say?”

“Please, our…relationship is all history!” said Norman.

“We can always repeat them. Why did you think that I joined your organization in the first place!” snapped Genevieve.

“We shouldn’t confuse work with pleasure,” said Norman, “as a final note, the cards sent by Juan are supposed to be in your mail today. Do you receive them?”

“Yah, I did,” replied Genevieve as she held up an envelope, “also, I will be waiting for answers on another day.”

Genevieve turned to her TV program, a duel between Milton Mackinson, the Iron Chain duelist, and her target, Dox Crowler. Milton had 2 Iron Chain Snakes (800/1200) & the Continuous Spell Card, Paralyze Chain on the field, where else Dox had his Ancient Gear Golem (3000/3000) & 2 face-down cards on the field.

Milton (LP: 1600) Dox (LP: 2100)

Milton (LP: 1600) Dox (LP: 2100)

“I summon the Tuner Monster for this archetype, the Iron Chain Coil!” (1100/1600) said Milton as a small robot with a retractable coil appeared.

“Another Tuner!” exclaimed Dox.

“I see that you are familiar with them,” said Milton, “this should be déjà-vu to you. I Tune my Snake with my Coil. Chains & shackles bind our world! All hope & freedom is now forgone! Synchro Summon! Control this fight, my Iron Chain Dragon!” (2500/1300)

Iron Chain Coil glowed as it turned into 3 rings of light that went past Iron Chain Snake, which dissolved into 3 stars. They then formed into a stream of light that a large grey dragon came out of. It was something like a wyvern, as it had no limbs other than its wings. There was a series of chains bound around its upper body.

“I attach my remaining Iron Chain Snake to your Golem & that will weaken him by 800 points,” said Milton as Iron Chain Snake threw itself at the Gear Golem, (3000/3000~2200/3000) “I use my dragon’s effect to remove every Iron Chain monster in my graveyard so that it gains 200 Attack points for each monster.”

The 5 cards slid out of the graveyard. (Iron Chain Coil, Iron Chain Blaster, Iron Chain Snake, 2 Iron Chain Repairman) (2500/1300~3500/1300)

“With that done, Iron Chain Dragon, attack that scrap metal with Chain Blast!” yelled Miton as Iron Chain Dragon blasted a green ray at Ancient Gear Golem.

Milton (LP: 1600) Dox (LP: 800)

Milton (LP: 1600) Dox (LP: 800)

“When my dragon deals you Battle Damage, you must send 3 cards from your deck to graveyard & 8 more by effect of my Iron Chain Snake. When you send cards from the deck to graveyard, Paralyze Chain will deal you 300 points of pain,” said Milton as Dox discarded 11 cards.

Milton (LP: 1600) Dox (LP: 500)

Milton (LP: 1600) Dox (LP: 500)

“I play Revenge Soul,” said Dox, “when my monster is destroyed in battle, I can return him to my hand instead.

“Oh my God! With that move, Dox is down to his last 500 Life Points & last card in his deck!” exclaimed MC Ben, “how will he turn the tide now?”

“Draw!” said Dox, “and thanks for milling away my deck like that…otherwise I would have never got this. I play Ancient Gear Factory!”

A massive machine appeared behind Dox & it came to life as machine parts were dropped onto it.

“By removing Ancient Gear Soldier, Ancient Gear Engineer & another Ancient Gear Golem in my graveyard from play, I can summon back…my Ancient Gear Golem!” (3000/3000)

The infamous Machine reappeared & its gears spun at a high rate as it glared at Milton.

“So what! Even if you attack me now, I will still be in this duel. By simply skipping my next turn, you will lose for sure on your next turn!” said Milton.

“I play my final card to even the odds with…Take One Chance!” said Dox, “I’m not into gambling, but this card is my only hope left. Among all the cards in my graveyard, this card will randomly pick one of them & it will be played instantly.”

“It seems that Dox is placing everything on luck now! Let’s see if Lady Luck is on his side or not,” said MC Ben as a Quick-Play Spell Card flew out of Dox’s graveyard. (3000/3000~6000/3000)

“That’s…Limiter Removal!” exclaimed Milton.

“Yup, and now, Ancient Gear Golem, avenge yourself with Mechanized Melee!” commanded Dox as Ancient Gear Golem punched Iron Chain Dragon.

Milton (LP: 0) Dox (LP: 500)

Milton (LP: 0) Dox (LP: 500)

“And our winner, who’s now back rising from the depths of Hell…Dox Crowler!!!” cried MC Ben as the crowd cheered for Dox.

“The Dark Medieval monsters…this should be interesting…” said Genevieve.

Meanwhile, in the Oregeorgian Press Building, tension rose up inside the General Manager’s office.

“What did you mean!” demanded Mary.

“Sorry, but this is the final decision made by the Board of Directions until further notice,” said the GM, “You are hereby suspended from all of your duties.”

“You…you…better watch your back!” cursed Mary as she stomped out.

As she left the office, she realised that some of her colleagues were eavesdropping on her.

“Out of my way, you creeps!” snapped Mary as she left with Tyson following after her.

In Teong’s tent, Norman returned to brief Charles on what happened.

“Oh, she’s still sore from the past,” remarked Charles, “maybe that’s why she never engaged in romance over the decade.”

“Over me? That’s crazy!” said Norman nervously.

“Yah…crazy enough to be real,” said Teong.

“What! Teong…you’re…ok!” exclaimed Norman, “I was so damn worried for you.”

“Yup, he’s fine, but I have 1last favor to ask of,” said Charles as he held up an envelope & a bouquet of roses, “give these to Genevieve & say that the roses were from you.”

“I will take the envelope, but not the roses, I’m not that stupid,” said Norman as he grabbed the envelope from Charles.

At the evening, the Antique Joint bar opened up for business as usual & its usual batch of customers included gangsters & members of the underworld. However, there were a few customers from the legal world coming here for a drink when something bad happened, 1 of them being Dox Crowler. A long limousine parked right in front of the Antique Joint & Bastion walked out first. He observed the surrounding area before he opened the car door for Genevieve, who was dressed in a red halter top with a long scarlet skirt & a Duel Disk on her arm.

“Please take care, milady. This is a complicated side of the world,” warned Bastion.

“Worry not, I shall take good care of myself,” said Genevieve.

Bastion then retreated back to the limousine & drove off. Just as the limousine left, Norman suddenly came by…in a bicycle.

“Genevieve, Charles told me to give you this,” said Norman as he handed her the envelope.

“And anything else…” said Genevieve, only to receive silence as an answer, “fine, see you.”

As Genevieve walked inside the bar, several people gave out whistles at her. Genevieve paid those perverts no attention & approached Dox, who was drinking & talking with the bartender.

“Finally, I’ve made it to the success again ever that defeat,” said Dox, “from now on, people call me by who I am. This causes for a celebration!”

“Indeed, how about a little duel,” said Genevieve.

“Huh, there’s…ok, but I will go easy on you,” said Dox.

“Please don’t…I’m actually quite skilled on my own,” said Genevieve as she noticed Mary & Tyson on another table nearby, “Mary Willis, come out now for a Triangle Duel!”

“What! You knew I could duel!” exclaimed Mary, “ok then, I need to blow off some steam.”

“A Tri-Duel, eh…interesting…” said Dox.

“Then let’s do it,” said Genevieve, “the order of sequence shall be me, followed by Dox & then Mary.”

In the ward tent, Norman, Teong & Charles were watching the duel on her laptop along with a man in a plumber’s outfit.

“This should be interesting,” said Charles, “thanks for the computer, Martin.”

“Yes, sir,” replied the plumber called Martin.

“A Tri-Duel…this bring back fond memories,” remarked Norman.

Genevieve (LP: 4000) Dox (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 4000)

Genevieve (LP: 4000) Dox (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 4000)

“I will begin as per our agreement,” said Genevieve, “I set 1 monster & 3 more cards to supplement it & that concludes my turn.”

4 face-down cards appeared, 1 horizontally & 3 vertically.

“Draw!” said Dox, “and I summon the Ancient Gear Knight in Attack Mode.” (1800/500)

A knight-like creature seemingly made out of gear parts appeared. Its shield was only a giant gear & its single red eye glowed.

“Oh! A Gemini Monster!” remarked Genevieve, “they are quite a rarity.”

“Yup, and I place 1 card face-down & end my turn,” said Dox.

“Why didn’t Dox attack the face-down monster?” wondered Tyson, “is it because of that other card?”

“No, in a Tri-Duel, we can only attack after every 3 duelists had gone through their Draw Phase,” explained Mary, “and I draw for my turn.”

Mary drew her card & studied her hand carefully.

“What’s the matter?” asked Genevieve, “did you have a bad hand? Just place a face-down & let mr go.”

“You wish! I summon my Spear Dragon!” (1900/0) said Mary as a blue dragon with a white underbody & folds under its forearms appeared & screeched, “it’s effect can deal damage even to monsters in Defense Mode, so I attack your monster now! Cyclone Blast!”

Spear Dragon flew over the field & fired a hurricane-like blast from its mouth at the face-down card. The face-down card itself opened up to reveal a pale woman in snow-white robes. (1200/1200)

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 4000)

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 4000)

“After attacking, my Spear Dragon rests in Defense Mode,” said Mary as Spear Dragon descended & folded its wings.

Suddenly, a geyser of wine erupted from the ground underneath Ancient Gear Knight & engulfed it in the liquid. As the wine subsided, Ancient Gear Knight shivered as it let loose some sparks. (1800/500~800/500)

“What!” exclaimed Dox.

“That’s the work of my lovely Foaming Beauty,” explained Genevieve, “when she is flipped up, I can reduce a monster’s Attack by 1000. But I shall use this opportunity to activate my next Trap, the Curse of Rose! When the Attack stat of an opponent’s monster has been changed into anyway, the opponent takes damage equal to the difference.”

The face-down card opened up & a storm of rose petal flew out of the card. The petals then aimed for Mary & formed a tornado of roses around her.

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 3000)

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 3000)

“But shouldn’t that damage Dox instead?” wondered Tyson.

“Since this is a Tri-Duel, the 2 other players are treated as my opponents,” explained Genevieve, “continuing, my dear Mary?”

“Just 1 face-down will do,” said Mary.

“Oh yes, my turn!” said Genevieve, “and I summon a minor member of the Olympian Gods, the god of winery, madness & unrestrained pleasure…Bacchus!” (1600/1600)

An obese old man appeared onto the field. He carried grapes on his right hand & a wide cup on his left hand.

“Attack Ancient Gear Knight with Winery Curse!” said Genevieve as Bacchus drank his cup & spitted out the drink at Ancient Gear Knight, which exploded instantly.

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 3200) Mary (LP: 3000)

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 3200) Mary (LP: 3000)

“I play Damage Condenser so that I can summon a new monster whose Attack is equal or less than the Damage taken by discarding a card,” said Dox as he discarded Ancient Gear Factory, “as such, I summon the Big Shield Gardna in Defense Mode.” (100/2600)

A barbarian carrying a large shield appeared in front of Dox & shielded him.

“But I would regret not including you in the fun myself,” said Genevieve, “therefore; I activate the Continuous Spell Card Drunken Daze!”

The card appeared, showing a Dizzy Angel who was being drunk.

“By this card’s effect, I can select 1 monster that either one of you possess & that lucky monster will gain 300 Attack points & goes to Attack Mode permanently, but it will inflict damage equal to half of its attack to its controller during his/her Standby Phase,” said Genevieve, “and now, guess which monster I would pick.”

“But there’s only 1…oh, it’s obvious…” said Tyson.

“Yup, I select the Spear Dragon, but aren’t you glad that I can prevent its bad side-effect now,” said Genevieve as Spear Dragon was covered by a purple aura & risen from its Defense Mode, (1900/0~2200/0) “with that, I end my turn with a face-down card.”

“I draw!” said Dox, “and Release my Gardna for my Ancient Gear Beast!” (2000/2000)

The warrior turned into a portal of light as a lupine creature of gears & scrap metal appeared from it. It growled at Genevieve.

“Attack Bacchus with Powered Pounce!” declared Dox as the gear beast pounced over the Olympian God.

“Oh no, you don’t! I activate Attack Guidance Barrier,” said Genevieve, “I can redirect your attack to another monster like Spear Dragon & it gains 600 Attack points for this occasion.” (2200/0~2800/0)

Ancient Gear Beast landed directly in front of Bacchus as it pounced again towards Spear Dragon, only to be destroyed by its Cyclone Blast.

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 3000)

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 3000)

“Hey! If it weren’t for your monster, I would be in the lead by now!” snapped Dox.

“Blame yourself for being so offensive in your tactics,” retorted Mary.

“That, coming from the one who attacked that Foaming Beauty who would weaken my Ancient Gear Knight enough for it to be destroyed,” remarked Dox.

“Things are sure tensed up there,” commented Teong as he watched the duel.

“Genevieve has a talent of causing strife in a duel easily, that’s why I had it as a Tri-Duel with my niece,” said Charles.

“Master Charles…” said Martin, “are you saying that you are related to Mary Willis?”

“Impossible! Their last names are different!” claimed Norman.

“She’s actually Darren’s daughter,” explained Charles, “when Darren grew obsessed with Psychics & the supernatural realm, his wife chose divorce & took custody of Mary who also took after her family name. Darren never visited them again, but I still kept in touch with her. That’s how she came there.”

“So you want to include her into the business?” asked Norman, “it’s a dangerous one.”

“I don’t really want to either, but she only left Darren because he would never tell them what’s going on,” said Charles, “I hope to reconcile them with this.”

“I play Ancient Gear Castle & 1 face-down card,” said Dox as an old castle made of gears appeared behind him.

“Draw!” said Mary as she was suddenly attacked by her own Spear Dragon.

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1900)

Genevieve (LP: 3300) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1900)

“Arg…I Release my Spear Dragon for this…my Handcuffs Dragon!” (1800/1800) said Mary as Spear Dragon disappeared for a long thin dragon with both ends being a pincer.

“Since a monster has been Normal Summoned, my castle gains a counter!” said Dox as a torch lit up on a tower.

“But he’s weaker than Spear Dragon, guess you don’t appreciate my gift,” said Genevieve.

“Whatever, I attack your Bacchus with Wrapper Shooter!” said Mary as Handcuffs Dragon flew up to Bacchus & crushed him with its pincer.

Genevieve (LP: 2900) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1900)

However, Bacchus remained on the field.

“But how!” exclaimed Mary, “Handcuffs Dragon destroyed it & that should be it!”

“Because I had used this Trap Card-Immortal Ecstasy!” said Genevieve as a card, showing a grand feast that Thor & Odin partook, appeared, “I can prevent my monster from being destroyed, but the Battle Damage would be doubled.”

“There must be a reason for all this,” thought Dox.

“I end my turn with a face-down card,” said Mary.

“My turn,” said Genevieve, “and during my Standby Phase, he gains 300 Attack points.” (1600/1600~1900/1600)

“So he’s stronger than my Dragon now,” said Mary calmly.

“But I am aware of your dragon’s effect, so I won’t be attacking it,” said Genevieve, “I play Divine Chalice. It only works when I have WATER monsters on my side of the field & it summons a Crimson Token.” (1000/1000)

A golden chalice appeared & a red liquid sprouted out & formed into a sort of creature made of slime.

“Attack Dox directly!” ordered Genevieve as the Crimson Token charged at Dox.

“I activate Attack Director!” said Mary as the card, showing a traffic police directing a busy street, “I can redirect an attack with this card’s effect & I declare that my Handcuffs Dragon will take them all.”

At last minute, the Crimson Token flew towards Handcuffs Dragon instead & crushed it.

Genevieve (LP: 2100) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1900)

Genevieve (LP: 2100) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1900)

“I still have Bacchus left!” said Genevieve.

“Attack Director will force all monsters to attack,” said Mary as Bacchus attacked & destroyed Handcuffs Dragon.

Genevieve (LP: 2100) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1800)

Genevieve (LP: 2100) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1800)

“And now my Handcuffs Dragon’s effect activates,” said Mary as Handcuffs Dragon reappeared & cuffed Bacchus. (1900/1600~100/1600)

“What the heck?” exclaimed Dox & Tyson.

“That’s merely the effect of Handcuffs Dragon,” explained Mary, “when it has been destroyed in battle by an opponent’s monster, it will become an Equip Card equipped to that monster & it will lose 1800 Attack points.”

“Anyway, thanks for bailing me out,” said Dox.

“Yeah, let’s work together & put her out of the duel,” said Mary.

“Finally they are working together, all’s going according to the big plan,” said Charles as he smiled upon his niece’s joy that he could feel.

“I see you’re working together now, but you 2 shall fall together then,” said Genevieve, “I summon Ghost Gardna in Defense Mode & a card face-down. I finally end my turn.” (0/1900)

A ghost-like pale white creature appeared & shielded itself in defense. Meanwhile, Ancient Gear Castle gains 1 more counter.

“Is that a ghost?” asked Tyson.

“No…he’s a Warrior of the DARK Attribute,” said Mary.

“Let’s go!” said Dox, “By Releasing my Castle that has 2 Counters already lit up, I can Advance Summon…my Ancient Gear Golem!” (3000/3000)

The castle of gears suddenly engulfed itself in flames as it fell apart. From the debris, the almighty Ace of Dox’s deck rose in all its glory.

“Attack Bacchus with Mechanised Melee!” commanded Dox.

Following its master’s orders, Ancient Gear Golem punched at Bacchus, but Ghost Gardna suddenly flew in to take the hit instead. Despite that, Ancient Gear Golem had still destroyed it.

Genevieve (LP: 1000) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1800)

“Let me explain about Ghost Gardna. When 1 of my monsters is in the danger of being attacked, the attack will be redirected to my Ghost Gardna instead,” said Genvieve, “but there’s more…when destroyed, he can weaken a monster’s attack by 1000 for this turn only.” (3000/3000~2000/3000)

“I end my turn,” said Dox, “take it from here.” (2000/3000~3000/3000)

“With pleasure, Dox,” said Mary as she drew her card.

“She will most certainly attack my weakened Bacchus…” thought Genevieve, “but I’m clever…”

“I summon…” said Mary.

“Go, Curse of Anubis!” said Genevieve, “all Effect monsters will be in Defense Mode & their Defenses will be reduced to 0.”

Ancient Gear Golem & Bacchus knelt down as they glowed a vile-looking aura from them. (100/1600~100/0, 3000/3000~3000/0)

“I summon my Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress 1,” (1400/1200) said Mary as a blue winged dragon appeared & roared as it appeared, “I had such fond memories with this card, after all Uncle Charles gave it to me when I just started out Duel Monsters…” said Mary, “Winged Dragon, attack Bacchus with your Fireball Attack!”

The blue dragon blasted a ball of fire at Bacchus & destroyed him

“At least my Life Points are saved,” said Genevieve.

However, Handcuffs Dragon suddenly rose from Mary’s graveyard. (1800/1800)

“But how!” exclaimed Genevieve.

“When Handcuffs Dragon has been destroyed as an Equip Card, I can re-summon him as a monster,” said Mary, “Attack her directly!”

“Yes, girl!” cheered Dox.

Handcuffs Dragon then flew towards Genevieve & tackled her head-on.

Genevieve (LP: 0) Dox (LP: 2400) Mary (LP: 1800)

Genevieve approached both Dox & Mary, who were in a joyful mood following their victory.

“Dox, you have most certainly proven yourself as a strong duelist,” said Mary.

“Of course! Now I can face Grand-uncle Vellian’s grave in pride,” said Dox.

“I’m sure the old man would be proud too,” said Genevieve, “and Genevieve, your uncle would be most proud of you in this duel. You were willing to help your ally & worked together to defeat me.”

“Wait…you knew Uncle Charles!” said Mary.

“Sure I do,” answered Genevieve as she took a blow of her pipe & took out 2 letters. She then gave them to both of them.

“Hey, it’s from Uncle Charles!” noted Mary.

Dear Mary & Dox,

If you are reading this, that would mean that you have won against Lady Genevieve, the Ecstatic Queen of Winery. Firstly, I am proud of both of you…or rather Dox’s improvement as told by both Clair & Norman & also Mary’s incredibility which I can be sure of. I want this duel to occur in preparations of a future event that may affect the whole world; I must implore the greatest duelists I could find to come to my cause. This is my plea for help that I hope you would agree as well.

Charles Vi Aria

Leader of the White Hawks

P.S. Mary, if you want to know why Darren neglected you & your Mom, now’s our chance.

“Me…talented…not sure but, I would join in the party,” said Dox.

“I agree with Dox, I will also put myself in this,” said Mary.

“Hopefully, I can now know everything & why Da…no…that jerk backstabbed us,” thought Mary.

“Then it’s all settled then! Let’s celebrate this occasion with a nice big dose of the best wine you have!” ordered Genevieve, “preferably a 2039 Black Widow.”

“Right away, madam!” responded the bartender, “you sure know your wine, that’s pretty powerful & tasteful stuff!”

Charles & his allies were watching all that from their tent & Charles smiled at his niece’s admittance.

“I’m happy for all these; my plan is going all according to plan,” said Charles, “and now, for my next target, Martin shall take it from here & this shall be your target.”

He then handed Martin a profile of Monty Fisto.

“Yes, sir,” replied Martin.

Meanwhile, there was a duel along the silent ruins left by Chimeratech Overdragon’s rampage. Milton Mackinson was dueling against a seedy-looking man in a black sweater & jeans of the same colour & he fainted as the remainder of his Life Points was gone from him, putting him out of the game.

Stranger (LP: 4000) Milton (LP: 0)

Stranger (LP: 4000) Milton (LP: 0)

“Ha, you’re so pathetic,” said the stranger, “but since you have lost the duel, I shall admit you into my collection.”

“No, please…don’t!!!” yelled Milton in fear.

His eyes glowed a shade of violet that covered the area. As it died down, Milton laid there unconscious & the stranger held up a card & a letter in his hand.

“I must train even harder for that tournament coming up,” said the stranger, “and I should expand on my collection while I’m at it…”
Handcuffs Dragon

WIND/Dragon-Effect/LV 5/ATK 1800/DEF 1800

When this card is destroyed by battle with an attacking monster your opponent controls and is sent to the Graveyard, you can equip this card to that monster. The equipped monster loses 1800 ATK. When it is destroyed and this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card.

Charles: This is the Card of the Day, Mary’s Handcuffs Dragon. It is quite a new addition to her deck of WIND Dragons, but it still works for her. It may seem weak enough to be destroyed, but it can come back & hold back the monster that destroyed him with a grip taking 1800 points worth of Attack. Even when it is destroyed as an Equip Card, it can return to the field again.

Genevieve: Indeed, sir. That is 1 monster I won’t want to get on its blacklist.

Norman: Interesting on how it portrays the long arm of the law though…
Norman: So you want that new guy, Martin to try Monty Fisto out. Are you sure about this?

Charles: I want to train both Martin & Monty only. Next on Yu-Gi-Oh Key of the Mind-Ch 34-Starstruck!

Martin: Wow! I’m actually duelling Monty Fisto!!! This is gonna be great!

Ch 34 is up now.

This is merely a smaller production of mine.

Also, after this chapter, I will have to focus more on my upcoming examinations & can't tend to this for a while.

Ch 34-Starstruck

Ch 34-Starstruck

As dawn descended upon Oregeorgia to signify another day, Martin was sitting in his apartment with a deck of cards on a table near him. He was grinning at them.

“With these cards, I will duel & win against Monty Fisto,” said Martin as he looked at the cards.

He noticed the clock & quickly packed up his cards inside his deck holder in his pocket & left the house along with his Duel Disk.

Meanwhile, at a mansion inside George’s Hill, there was a mansion made of natural materials that housed the Pro League duelist called Monty Fisto. Besides him, Gladys would also come there from time to time to help clean up his home for him. Suddenly, the door rang.

“I’ll go get it,” said Gladys as she opened the door for Martin, “yes?”

“I’m here to look for Monty Fisto,” said Martin with determination.

“I can see that you are a duelist,” said Gladys as she stared at Martin’s Duel Disk, “but, only the best can deal with him, so you had to get through me first!”

“Fine by me, I would need a warm-up myself,” said Martin as he placed his deck inside the Duel Disk.

“But Monty is not a dueling opponent & so am I,” said Gladys as she placed a Duel Disk onto her arm.

In a matter of 5 minutes, the outcome was declared as Martin emerged victorious. Gladys looked down in disbelief at her quick defeat in merely 2 rounds.

“Guess I’ll be dueling Mr. Fisto then,” said Martin.

“And who dares to stomp into my humble home with the thirst of challenge?” bellowed a voice as the shadow of a man somersaulted his way directly in front of Martin & Gladys. It was Monty Fisto, who had a Duel Disk all ready.

“Hello, Mr. Fisto. I’m Martin, 1 of your biggest fans & I am honored by this meeting,” said Martin.

“Indeed, but are you certain in dueling me?” questioned Monty.

“Actually, I have,” answered Martin, “and I came here for another matter of great importance.”

“Very well then, let’s duel!” cried Monty as he struck a karate pose.

Meanwhile, Charles & Norman were watching that particular duel again on GPS.

“Seriously, I should invest in these GPS systems, they are simply too great,” commented Charles.

“Since I see that I am the more superior one here, I shall grant you the honor of going first,” said Monty as they drew their opening hands.

“I set 1 monster & place another face-down card only,” said Martin.

“So, you choose to be passive towards me,” said Monty, “but this will not work as it’s now my turn! I summon my Howler Ape!” (1500/1200)

A pale white monkey appeared onto the field & hopped around in a hyperactive state.

“Attack that face-down monster with Hyper-Sonic Howl!” ordered Monty as Howler Ape unleashed a sonic blast from its mouth over the hidden monster, which revealed itself a small button-like creature. (100/100)

“Now my Howler Ape’s effect activates, it inflicts the opponent 500 points of damage whenever it destroys a monster in face-down Defense Mode. Outburst Holler!” said Monty as Howler Ape gave out a loud shriek at Martin.

Monty (LP: 4000) Martin (LP: 3500)

“That’s my Batteryman Micro-Cell!” said Martin, “when he’s flipped up, I can Special Summon a Batteryman as long it has a different name & I choose my Batteryman AA!” (0/0)

A red slender battery-shaped being appeared & sparked off electricity.

“1 last effect of Micro-Cell, when it has been destroyed in battle after being flipped up, I can draw a new card,” said Martin as he drew 1 more card.

“That was nothing compared to my big plan, I activate Inferno Reckless Summoning to summon more copies of my new Batteryman,” said Martin as 2 more Batteryman AA appeared.

Suddenly, all of them sparked out electricity that coursed through one another. (0/0~3000/0 x3)

“But that card should never in the middle of a battle & why did those batteries even gain that much Attack so fast?” wondered Gladys.

“Micro-Cell’s effect was a Flip Effect that only works after a monster’s destruction,” said Martin, “and AA gains 1000 Attack Points for every copy of itself on the field.”

“But I can also use this effect as well, so I summon my only other copy of Howler Ape!” said Monty as another Howler Ape appeared, but it crossed its arms to defend, (1500/1200) “and now, let’s go back to the wild with the Field Spell called Deep Forest.”

The luxurious mansion was then transformed into a jungle area full of dense vegetation & minimal sunlight. The 2 Howler Apes & Monty hollered in delight over the field change.

“How great is this wondrous land, I place 1 more face-down & end my turn,” said Monty.

“But they couldn’t help you from my strategy, I draw,” said Martin, “now I shall attack your Attack Mode Howler Ape with my Batteryman AA. Fry that monkey with Electric Charge AA!”

Batteryman AA discharged electricity from its body towards Howler Ape, but it suddenly hopped onto a tree & effectively escaped the attack.

“What!” exclaimed Martin?

“That’s the effect of my Deep Forest. Once per turn, when 1 of my Beast, Beast Warrior, Plant or Insect monster were being threatened by an attack, I could remove them from play for that turn only & negate that attack at once,” explained Monty.

“But I can still attack your other Howler Ape with Electric Charge AA!” ordered Martin as another Batteryman AA launched an electric attack on Howler Ape, destroying it this time, “and lastly, my final Batteryman AA, attack him directly!”

“Sorry, but I activate my Trap Card, Blessings of the Nature Goddess!” announced Monty as the card, showing a beautiful goddess in a luxurious forest, “when I control a Field Spell & was being attacked directly by a monster with over 2000 Attack Points, I can gain Life Points equal to the supposed damage.”

Batteryman AA unleashed its attack, but it was blocked out by a green veil of light.

“I say, Monty Fisto sure has a way of his duels,” commented Norman.

Monty (LP: 7000) Martin (LP: 3500)

“That’s it, Monty!” cheered Gladys, “Show him what you’re made of.”

“I play Lightning Conductor to give 200 points of damage for every card in your hand,” said Martin.

Monty (LP: 6600) Martin (LP: 3500)

“Well…I guess that’s it,” said Martin.

“At your End Phase, my Howler Ape returns to me,” said Monty as the Ape dropped from the sky, “and it’s my turn, draw!”

“I move my Ape to Defense Mode & set 1 more card. I end my turn,” said Monty.

“I draw!” said Martin, “Attack Howler Ape with Electric Charge AA!”

Batteryman AA released a bolt of electricity towards the ape, but it vanished at last minute.

“I remove Behemoth from play to negate the attack,” said Monty.

“But I still have 2 more Batteryman AA left & they are in the position to attack you right now,” said Martin, “Attack!!”

“I activate Offensive Guard to draw 1 card & halve your monster,” said Monty as he drew a card. (3000/0~1500/0)

The second & third AA fired volts of electricity at Monty, frying him into submission.

Monty (LP: 2100) Martin (LP: 3500)

Monty (LP: 2100) Martin (LP: 3500)

“How’s that!” claimed Martin, “I end my turn as that.”

“Draw,” said Monty, “I Special Summon my Dasher Ape.” (800/1200)

A small skinny monkey appeared & it jumped in a hyperactive state.

“I can Special Summon him when you got more monsters than me & their combined attacks are more than that of my own monsters,” said Monty, “now I can Release them both to Advance Summon my Sengenjin!” (2750/2500)

Both ape monsters leaped up into the sky as energy beams that form into the blue armed ogre.

“Now I play Wild Nature’s Release to increase his attack by his defense points,” said Monty, (2750/2500~5250/2500) “and now…attack AA with Millennium Clobber!”

Sengenjin charged at AA & smashed it with its club.

Monty (LP: 2100) Martin (LP: 1250)

Monty (LP: 2100) Martin (LP: 1250)

The 2 remaining Batteryman sparked off dimmer. (3000/0 x3~2000/0 x2)

“With less Batteryman, your monster’s power decreases,” said Gladys.

“I set 1 card face-down & end my turn,” said Monty as Sengenjin roared in pain as it shattered into pixels, “of course he is now destroyed by effect of Wild Nature’s Release.”

“Draw,” said Martin, “that last move was great, but you had left 1 big loophole in your plans when you leave your field empty like that…which I will take maximum advantage of! Attack him directly!”

“You need to learn more of a good show when you deal with a Pro Duelist like me. We always like to put in climax to the duel & I am no different as I play this! Reveal Trap Card, Birthright!” announced Monty, “I can revive a Normal Monster from my Graveyard in Attack Mode, and I summon the only available monster, Sengenjin!” (2750/2500)

Suddenly, the blue ogre rose & smashed Batteryman AA as it attacked Monty. (2000/0~1000/0)

Monty (LP: 2100) Martin (LP: 500)

Monty (LP: 2100) Martin (LP: 500)

“But I’m still prepared. I play…Quick Summon!” said Martin, “By Releasing my last remaining Batteryman AA, I can Advance Summon…my Super-Electromagnetic Voltech Dragon!” (2400/1000)

Batteryman AA turned into a portal of light & a metal dinosaur came out of it & roared loudly.

“Those 2 are pouring in everything on the line with this duel,” said Norman.

“Interesting, but I don’t see how that could help you,” said Monty.

“My Voltech Dragon draws power from the 3 Batteryman themselves & gains an effect based on the specific one that was Released,” explained Martin, “Since I used Batteryman AA, my dragon gains 1000 Attack Points.” (2400/1000~3400/1000)

“Oh no! That thing is now strong enough to…” exclaimed Gladys.

“Destroy his Sengenjin with Voltage Blast!” shouted Martin as Voltech Dragon launched a blast of electricity at Sengenjin.

“Are you forgetful or what? I can use Deep Forest’s effect to negate the attack,” said Monty.

“Not when I blow it all down with my Mystical Space Typhoon!” said Martin as a powerful windstorm swept across the forest & blew it down, rendering the area back to its original state, “

and now, my Voltech Dragon can continue its attack!”

Voltech Dragon blasted an electrical blast at Sengenjin & had successfully destroyed him.

Monty (LP: 1450) Martin (LP: 500)

Monty (LP: 1450) Martin (LP: 500)

“I place 1 face-down card& end my turn,” said Martin.

“My face-down card…Backup Charger…by removing Batteryman in my graveyard from play, I can increase my Voltech Dragon’s Attack by 300 each…he will attack my Dragon if he could next turn,” thought Martin.

“My turn, draw!” said Monty, “I play the Pot of Greed to draw 2 new cards.”

Monty drew out his 2 cards, 2 Spell Card.

“Now I play Premature Burial & pay 800 Life Points to summon Howler Ape,” (1500/1200) said Monty as the ape reappeared on the field again.

“So that’s not going to do anything!” said Martin.

“Maybe so…until I activate my final card, the Spell Card of Intimidating Roar!” said Monty as the card, showing a group of hunters frozen in fear as another group of Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts surrounded them, “It only works when I control a Beast-Type monster. I can switch your monster to face-down Defense Mode.”

Voltech Dragon groaned as it was replaced with a face-down card.

“Attack that face-down monster with Hyper Sonic Howl!” said Monty as Howler Ape let out a deafening shriek over the field & the face-down card was destroyed after flipping over as Super-Electromagnetic Voltech Dragon, “and now for its effect, which will be your downfall, Outburst Holler!”

Monty (LP: 1450) Martin (LP: 0)

“So…he did win…I shall make a call,” said Charles as he held his phone.

“Great job, just like I had expected from a duelist I long admire,” said Martin.

“Please…I’m just a simple duelist…no need to be so classy ab…” said Monty as the phone rang, in which Gladys went out to get.

“Hello?” said Gladys, “oh, it’s for you, Monty.”

She then put on the loudspeaker to allow everyone around there to hear.

“I congratulate you, Mr. Fisto for your great dueling skills,” said Charles.

“But how did you know that?” questioned Gladys.

“That is not important for another matter, no…crisis has struck the world & I reach out to the best duelists around to help my cause,” said Charles, “and so, will you?”

“Hmmm…perhaps I will,” replied Monty.

“And if Monty goes, so will I,” said Gladys.

“Glad to hear, Martin, you have done great,” said Charles before hanging up.

“Norman, that left us with only 1 man left…the Duel King, Noland Blight…” said Charles, “against him, I shall send in…”

Card of the Day

Howler Ape

WIND/Beast-LV 4/ATK 1500/DEF 1200

When this card destroys a monster in face-down position, inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent.

Monty: The card of Today is my new addition, the Howler Ape. When it seems weak in the offense department, it can actually inflict 500 points of damage if it manages to destroy any face-down monsters.

“Me?” exclaimed Norman when he heard Charles’ briefing.

“Did I stutter or something? Yes, it is you!” said Charles.

“But why me?” said Norman.

“You’re the best duelist in the team, that’s why,” explained Charles, “anymore objections?”

“The car…I need to make the arrangements for the reconstruction of my car & it can’t wait,” said Norman, “I’m sorry, but it has to be like this. But I shall find a replacement immediately.”

“Very well then,” said Charles as he walked off.

Norman then turned to his handphone & went under the contact, “Gaius”.

“Hope you can pick up, my friend…” said Norman as he held the phone.

Outside Oregeorian General Hospital, Noland was there as he took a deep breath at the world he could see & feel once again.

“Ahh…I guess that duel will never have a conclusion,” said Noland as he looked up to the skies, “I guess it’s time I let go of the world.”

“Or rather, brace yourself for the boundless future,” said another voice.

“Oh, who’s there?” wondered Noland, “I thought I was alone.”

From the shadows, Gaius & Teong walked out to greet him.

“Dr Teong and…who’s that knight?” wondered Noland.

“My name is Gaius, the Last Scion of the holy clan of Lancelot!” introduced Gaius as he took his sword out of its sheath & hoisted it high above the sky, “my glorious ancestors have resisted countless invasions upon Great Britain ever since the time of the Roman Empire & I am its last descendant. Now, I request a duel with you.”

“Noland, this ties with an important matter that affect the whole world, so please duel him,” said Teong.

“Hmm…of course, I will,” answered Noland.

“Good,” said Teong as he tossed him a Duel Disk while Gaius activated his Shield Duel Disk, “gentlemen, let’s duel!”

Gaius (LP: 4000) Noland (LP: 4000)

Gaius (LP: 4000) Noland (LP: 4000)

“My turn, draw!” said Noland, “I place a monster face-down & another 2 more cards to go.”

3 face-down cards then appeared.

“My turn & I draw,” said Gaius, “I summon Blade Knight in Attack Mode!” (1600/1000)

A knight in armor similar to its master’s appeared & swung his sword.

“And I attack your face-down monster with Blade Strike!” ordered Gaius.

“I activate my Trap Card, Surprise!” said Noland as a card, showing a shadow jumping out of a hole to ambush a soldier, “It activates through your monster’s attack. I can flip 1 face-down monster face-up & I flip open…my face-down.”

The face-down monster opened up to reveal a grey jar with a black spirit-like creature inside. (700/600)

“Morphing Jar…Blade Knight’s effect could have negated it,” commented Teong.

“When my Morphing Jar is flipped up, we both discard our hands & replace with the next 5 cards of our decks,” said Noland as they discarded their cards & replaced them.

Suddenly, an ugly bony fiend with a spear appeared. (1600/1300)

“When Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World has been discarded, I get to Special Summon him,” said Noland, “and since another card I had just discarded is called Broww, Hunter of Dark World, I can draw another card.”

Noland drew an additional card.

“But my attack is still on Morphing Jar,” said Gaius as his Blade Knight slashed Morphing Jar, “after that, I place 2 cards face-down myself & end my turn as that.”

“My turn,” said Noland, “and I shall Release Beiige for the Advance Summon of Gaap the Divine Soldier!” (2200/2000)

Beiige turned into a small portal that expanded for a winged humanoid in demonic armor.

“Next I play Forces of Darkness to take my 2 Dark World monsters back to my hand,” said Noland as he took Beiige & Broww, “next I will use Gaap’s effect & by revealing you any number of Fiend-Types in my hand, it gains 300 Attack points for each.”

Noland revealed Beiige, Broww, Scarr & Reign-Beaux that were in his hand & Gaap glowed with power. (2200/2000~3400/2000)

“Attack Blade Knight with Divine Deceit!” declared Noland as Gaap unleashed a barrage of darkness from its wings to shroud Blade Knight.

Gaius (LP: 2200) Noland (LP: 4000)

“I play the Rope of Life!” said Gaius, “by discarding my hand, I can revive Blade Knight & he gains 800 more Attack Points.”

Gaius discarded his hand & Blade Knight rose again. (1600/1000~2400/1000~2800/1000)

“Not to mention that its effect gives him 400 more Attack points if you have 0 or 1 card in your hand,” said Noland.

“And I just threw them all away to use Rope of Life,” said Gaius.

“In that case, I play a Spell Card Decisions of the Ruthless Lord,” said Noland as a card that showed a king overseeing an execution, “This card allows us to discard every monster on both our hands at the cost of 1000 Life Points & I can draw a card.”

Gaius (LP: 2200) Noland (LP: 3000)

Since Gaius had an empty hand, Noland discarded the 4 Fiend monsters in his hand. After which, he drew 2 cards & Beiige appeared in a kneeling position. (1600/1300)

“I set 1 card & end my turn,” said Noland.

“Draw,” said Gaius, “I play the Pot of Greed for 2 new cards & activate the Continuous Spell Card called Justice Wave.”

The card, showing Kuraz the Light Monarch in a dark forest as light shone over from the sky, appeared.

“Everytime a LIGHT Monster destroys a DARK or Fiend monster, you will take 300 points of damage,” said Gaius, “and I summon Queen’s Knight in Attack Mode.” (1500/1600)

A female knight in red armor appeared & struck a stare at the Dark World Fiends.

“Attack them now!” said Gaius, “Blade Strike & Royal Sword!”

Blade Knight slashed Gaap with his blade, while Queen’s Knight slashed the defending Beiige.

Gaius (LP: 2200) Noland (LP: 1800)

“Have enough yet?” said Gaius.

“I’m just getting started, boy,” replied Noland.

“I end my turn,” said Gaius.

“Ok, let’s go!” said Noland, “I play Card Destruction for another new card.”

Gaius didn’t draw any cards as he had nothing to discard in the beginning, while Noland drew out a new hand.

“You thought you had me cornered, but guess again,” said Noland, “I summon His Royal Madness, Brron, Mad King of Dark World in Attack Mode!” (1800/400)

An insane-looking fiend appeared. His head was slanted to 1 side & he wore a blue torn-off jacket along with a set of chains that was wrapped around his upper body. He suddenly cackled hysterically & broke off his chain to free his body.

“He might be a lunatic, but he still rules Dark World nonetheless,” said Noland, “Brron, do away with the lad’s Queen’s Knight with Mad Maul!”

Brron rushed at Queen’s Knight like a lunatic & slashed her with his claws.

Gaius (LP: 1900) Noland (LP: 1800)

“And now, this is where my Mad King’s effect works, but I choose not to,” said Noland, “I set 1 card face-down & I end my turn.”

“Draw,” said Gaius, “I play Monster Reborn to revive my Queen’s Knight.” (1500/1600)

The knight in red armor rose again & she glares at Brron with anger in her eyes.

“Next on, I play Fiend’s Sanctuary to Summon a Metal Fiend Token,” (0/0) said Gaius as a small creature made of metal beads appeared, “by Releasing all 3 of them, I can Summon my Ace…Gilford the Lightning!” (2800/1400)

As the 3 monsters vanished into a single portal, the portal flew up to the sky where a storm was brewing with lightning cracking. 1 lightning struck the field & the form of an armored barbarian warrior appeared.

“I’m sure that you know of Gilford’s effect,” said Gaius.

“When he has been Advance Summon with a 3-monster Release, all of my monsters are destroyed,” said Noland.

“Go, Lightning Strike!” cried Gaius as lightning struck Gilford’s sword & he swung it to let out a powerful wave to destroy Brron. His screams of pain was the last thing heard from then.

“Since you are cleared up, I can launch a direct attack. Go, Raigeki Blade!” said Gaius as Gilford charged towards Noland.

“I activate my face-down card, Gateway to Dark World,” said Noland as a black portal appeared in front of Gilford, “this vortex is an inter-dimensional tunnel that connects Dark World to the graveyard, and so I may summon any Dark World monster from the great beyond…like Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World!” (2500/1800)

“My Gilford’s still strong & he shall destroy it anyway!” said Gaius.

The large fiend who rules Dark World appeared from the portal & Gilford struck his sword at him instead. However, the apparition of a warrior carrying a long shield intercepted the attack.

Gaius (LP: 1900) Noland (LP: 1500)

“What’s that?” wondered Teong, “it just blocked off the attack.”

“That’s my Shield Warrior,” said Noland, “by removing this card that rests in my graveyard from play, I can prevent my monster’s destruction.”

“But you take Battle Damage,” said Gaius, “and since when did you put that in your graveyard.”

“When I discarded my entire hand by effect of Card Destruction,” said Noland, “anymore moves to go.”

“Just 2 face-down cards only,” said Gaius.

“I draw,” said Noland as he drew, “by discarding my only remaining card, I can activate this, Super Polymerization!”

He discarded Dark Deal & a powerful vortex appeared over the field, which everyone struggled against to maintain their balance.

“What! A Fusion Card!” exclaimed Teong, “and one I never heard of!”

“This card is an ultra-rarity that was only awarded to special people by I2,” said Noland, “and yes, this card does fuse monsters.”

“Ha! You don’t have monsters, just a monster,” said Gaius as he struggled against the storm, “your hand is washed out & all you got is Reign-Beaux! What could you possibly fuse?”

“”Your Gilford,” said Noland, “the main difference that separates this card from its regular counterpart is that it can combine any monster on the field.”

“Not going to happen! I activate Solemn Judgment & negate Super Polymerization by paying half of my Life Points,” said Gaius.

Gaius (LP: 950) Noland (LP: 1500)

Gaius (LP: 950) Noland (LP: 1500)

Despite that, the vortex still continued & the Solemn Judgment card shattered.

“What!” exclaimed both Gaius & Teong.

“Another difference is that…Super Polymerization cannot be negated by any cards at all!” explained Noland, “Therefore, I fuse my Reign-Beaux & your Gilford to form the first monarch of Dark World, a Fiend who has the contradicting powers of both Light & Darkness on his side…I Fusion Summon…Colorless, Chaos King of Dark World!!!” (?/0)

Both Reign-Beaux & Gilford the Lightning were absorbed into the vortex & a violent gust of wind blew into the form of a tornado. Out of it, a titanic fiend appeared. Its skin was pale & practically blended in with the lights nearby. Like Reign-Beaux. It also carried a spear on his arm, but his version was both angelic & demonic in appearance. It had 2 wings of odd design, one side with bat wings & the other one having feathered wings.

“Behold, the mythical leader of Dark World who controls both the forces of light & dark. However, that power soon overwhelmed him & was obliterated by it, leaving only a fragment of its dark powers left to gain sentience as Reign-Beaux, who overlooked his throne in Dark World,” said Noland, “as such, I can only summon this beast by the powers of Super Polymerization when I combine Reign-Beaux with a LIGHT Monster & his Attack power is equal to the total Attack of the 2 monsters themselves.”

Colorless roared as it glowed with power. (?/0~5300/0)

“Oh no! If that thing attacks, he’s doomed!” exclaimed Teong.

“Colorless, attack him directly with Chaos Obliteration!” shouted Noland as energy formed within Colorless’ spear & it was shot out instantly.

“I activate Soul Resurrection, which will revive a Normal Monster in Defense Mode,” said Gaius, “be reborn, my Queen’s Knight!” (1500/1600)

The card opened & Queen’s Knight appeared again & braced herself for the attack coming at her.

“Futile, all futile…” said Noland, “Colorless can inflict piercing Damage to the opponent.”

“Say what!” exclaimed Teong as Queen’s Knight was consumed by the attack & Gaius was caught in the blast himself.

Gaius (LP: 0) Noland (LP: 1500)

Gaius (LP: 0) Noland (LP: 1500)

“So…that’s the power…of a Duel King,” said Teong as he went up to help Gaius up.

“So now, mind explaining what’s going on?” inquired Noland.

Just then, a white car approached them & stopped. Norman, Charles & Martin all stepped out to greet them.

“Hello, perhaps we can enlighten you,” said Charles, “I’m sure you would have heard of the Genocide 10 years ago.”

“Yeah…you’re not planning another one, are you?” questioned Noland, “I’ll stop you.”

“No, no…we want to prevent further misunderstandings in the world & we shall resolve this matter through dueling,” said Charles, “and we request you to help us in our cause.”

“No, I prefer that I should be neutral in this stuff,” said Noland as he walked away alone.

“We lost him,” said Gaius, “I’m sorry for that loss.”

“Don’t worry; he will see the truth when it all becomes clear to all,” said Norman, “by the way, thanks for the repairs, Martin.”

“It’s what I do, Norman,” said Martin.

Meanwhile, in the desert regions of Egypt on the other side of the world, a young-looking Egyptian man was typing away on his computer. His computer was currently on the blog site, Thoth’s Infinite Library. His eyes were glowing as he felt a fragment of a stone tablet.

The Black Dragon was the Ka of a Roman commander when he was appointed as an envoy to Egypt. Its power was known to be able to surpass even the famed White Dragon due to its ability to take various stronger forms easily. It was said that the Black Dragon was the end-product of the souls of all his fallen concubines that he had sacrificed to create the beast.

The man yawned a little at the typing as he suddenly received an e-mail from Yugi Tenma.

“Yugi Tenma, the head of I2? Why would he send me something?” wondered the man as he opened the e-mail.

Thoth Muran, you have been invited to the Duel Monsters Special Cup sponsored by Industrial Illusions Company. It shall be held in Oregeorgia Stadium in a few days’ time. This is a simple tournament against 7 other chosen people. We wish that you would participate in the tournament. All flight fee & other payments will be provided by the company.

Yugi Tenma

Chairman of Industrial Illusion Co.

“Me…in a tournament,” said Thoth, “its high-time someone from the source of Duel Monsters to claim their reputation back.”
Within the top office of Oregeorgia Press Building, Tyson was in a serious discussion with the various members of the Board.

“Sirs, I’m certain that Mary Willis should be able to be reinstated to her previous job,” said Tyson, “her talent in news casting was genuine & the audience loved her.”

“We know, but the tabloids thought otherwise…” said a director as he held a tabloid on his desk, “that incident had shamed us with such a scandal! We should have fired her when we had the chance.”

“But the tabloids are just ravenous ravens who looks for small incidents & cook up a big mess for everyone to see,” said Tyson, “They are just a bunch of liars!”

“He’s right about that,” said another director, “and she’s such a great reporter that gave our company high ratings.”

“But this company must focus on image!” said the third director, “We can’t afford to keep anyone who had themselves smeared with scandals!”

“Screw the image, we need talent!” snapped the second director, “Mary Willis was once my direct subordinate & she did fantastic during her time. I propose that we should keep her in the company.”

“But what about the tabloids!” said the third director.

“Don’t worry,” said the first director as he held up a tabloid, stating a scandal involving the sudden disappearance of Sakura Tenma, “they have something else on their hands right now…”

Later on, along the streets, Mary was reading up on that tabloid regarding Sakura Tenma’s disappearance as Tyson approached her exhaustingly.

“Mary…” said Tyson.

“Oh, Tyson, hello!” said Mary, “Now that I had so much free time, I had been reading up on tabloids. Apparently, Sakura Tenma’s disappearance was not reported to the police & no private investigation had been conducted. They say that she might have been killed and…”

“I came here…to tell…you that…” said Tyson breathlessly.

“Yah…speak up!” said Mary.

“That…I got you…a new chance at your job…” said Tyson.

“You did! Thanks!” thanked Mary, “You actually did something right for a change.”

“But there’s a catch,” said Tyson, “tomorrow at 12 noon, there will be a special audition just for you & you must be on time & show the Board of Directors that you are capable. Fail any of those…and you may consider your resignation.”

“Hmmm…I guessed that they would do such things anyway,” said Mary, “I will be there & will show them what I’m made of.”

During nighttime, in the White Hawks base, Mary & Charles were alone to discuss on several matters at hand.

“I always say you were the lucky one in the family,” said Charles, “getting your job back like that without lifting much of a finger.”

“You always flatter me like that, Uncle Charles,” said Mary as she blushed, “I still need to prepare for tomorrow’s test & that will be all or nothing.”

“I had confidence in you, lass! Just do it!” encouraged Charles.

“But, where’s Da…that guy?” asked Mary.

“Your father? Ever since I left him in Warehouse 13 to let him blow off steam, he was long-gone & not found yet,” said Charles, “I know you still miss him even if your mouth says otherwise.”

“Nonsense! He ditched me & Mom in cold blood for this without telling us!” snapped Mary, “Uncle Charles, I will take my leave now as I need to rest well.”

Mary then walked back to the surface, leaving Charles behind as Juan came in.

“Although she said that she hated him, she actually wants to know him more,” said Juan, “after all; she even joined us probably for this reason only.”

“Yah…but Darren, you fool, where are you?” said Charles, “he really should grow up someday.”

During that exact same night, in the Overmind’s fortress, Dario, Gethin & Marin knelt before the seated Overmind as he gazed at them.

“All 3 of you are proudly invited to the Special Cup, that Mr. Tenma & I had compromised together,” said the Overmind, “this tournament is the key to mass accumulation of energy that is vital to my plans & as such, I do not expect anyone to fail me. Is that understood?”

“Yes, my Lord!” said everyone, “We shall not fail for your sake.”

“As for you, I shall bestow you powerful cards that shall guide you towards our ultimate victory,” said the Overmind as a dais was raised in front of the 3 Psychics, “Dario, take the card on the far right & Gethin, you shall take the one on the far left.”

Both of them then took their respective cards & resumed their positions.

“Last, but never the least, Marin, I could only prepare 3 of these creatures for now as they were too powerful even for me,” said the Overmind, “but knowing you, you would put that into good use.”

“Indeed I shall, my Lordship,” said Marin as he took the 3 cards from the dais, “I will make excellent use out of my current resources.”

At the same time, in the dungeon areas below, Curtis had pushing the door with great force as he tried to bulge his way out. A tentacled Syntho-Daemon was stationed at his cell & was so irritated by his resistance that its tentacles reached inside her cell & strangled his neck.

“Silence!” said the Sytho-Daemon, “or else it shall be your life.”

“Well, bring it on! I’m not scared of you,” dared Curtis.

“Or rather…it would be your kin’s life instead…” said the Sytho-Daemon, looking at Curtis’ parents as they were fast asleep in their respective cells.

“Please don’t…I give in…ok!” said Curtis, “you octopus freak.”

“I’m no octopus freak! My name is Metiel!” said Metiel.

“But where’s Penny?” wondered Curtis as he retreated to his cell.

Much later, Blake was discussing with Marin in a hallway.

“When I am gone for the tournament, you must protect His Majesty with your very life for he is the very symbol of our ideals & hope,” said Marin.

“Don’t worry, Marin. He is also my Lord that we, Knights, must protect & serve loyally,” said Blake, “though I’m really concerned about the White Hawks. They were the main group who incited the Genocide 10 years ago & they would most certainly strike again if we were to operate en masse.”

“I already knew that & I had also found out that they are aware of us & are planning to counterstrike,” said Marin, “but I have a good plan here. The leader of the White Hawks, Charles Vi Aria, has a brother & niece, Darren Vi Aria & Mary Willis respectively.”

“Yah…and so,” said Blake, “won’t it be better to simply kill them all off when they are still in the dark.”

“You honestly lack style. I plan to kidnap them both & use them as blackmail, so that Charles would be in our power,” said Marin, “we already had Darren in our hands, and all we need now is Mary Willis herself.”

“And I know how we could achieve that…” said Blake sinisterly.

During the next day at 11.45am, Mary was on the way to the Press Building, with Tyson escorting her. She had dressed herself on this occasion, applying make-up & a simple attire for the tryout. As they passed by the street nearest to the Building, a gang of cloaked men stopped their progress.

“Hey, buster! Get out of the way!” yelled Tyson, but they remained still.

“Mary Willis…duel me,” said 1 of the cloaked men spookily as he threw a Duel Disk at her, “or else, you shall not go anywhere.”

“If this can free us, then…let’s duel!” said Mary as she strapped on the Duel Disk.

“Good…and I’m No. 1586,” said 1586 as he revealed himself to be wearing a mask with an emerald on it.

“Who refers themselves by numbers only?” wondered Tyson.

“One who is a servant of the kings of the future world,” said another cloaked man, “only the kings of the next world shall be referred by their holy names, while we, commoners, are encrusted by a number as mark of our eternal servitude.”

Just then, the Board of Directors was seeing the whole thing from their office.

“Those men seem to be troublemakers,” said the second director, “should we call the security?”

“Nah, let’s just watch the good show below,” said the first director, “We can already cancel the pre-arranged tryout.”

1586 (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 4000)

“Let’s go & I draw!” said Mary, “and I summon Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress 1 in Defense Mode!” (1400/1200)

A blue dragon appeared & roared loudly as it covered itself with its 2 wings.

“That creature…” thought 1586 as he stared at the summoned monster.

“I lay 2 cards face-down & end my turn,” said Mary.

“My turn,” said 1586, “I play the Spell Card called Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen!”

A large majestic gateway suddenly appeared behind the masked grunt & as it slowly opened, an air of holy power emulated from it.

“A door!” exclaimed Tyson, “I’ve seen better moves from others!”

“But that’s no common door. This is a passage to the holy realm of Valhalla, where mystical fairies roam & rule as the lords. Therefore, I can Special Summon 1 Fairy-Type monster from my hand if I had no monsters on the field,” said 1586, “so I can Special Summon Darknight Parshath in Attack Mode.” (1900/1400)

Out of the doorway, a centaurian demonic knight came out of it. However, this creature had an aura of darkness & wickedness from it.

“What’s that!” exclaimed Mary, “I thought it was supposed to be a Fairy, not a Fiend!”

“But it is a Fairy, just one of darkness,” explained 1586, “I equip him with Fairy Meteor Crush & he will attack that dragon with Slash of the Morning Star!”

Darknight Parshath’s blade glowed red as it charged towards the defending dragon & cut it into half.

1586 (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 3300)

1586 (LP: 4000) Mary (LP: 3300)

“Let me guess…your Parshath have the piercing effect, right?” said Mary.

“Yes, I end off my turn as that after 2 face-down cards,” said 1586 calmly.

“Draw,” said Mary, “and I play my face-down Trap Card, Revival Gale!”

The face-down card opened, showing a flying dragon being consumed by a tornado. Suddenly, a tornado also appeared on the field as well.

“I can now revive 1 WIND Monster from my Graveyard, but it will only be temporary,” said Mary, “so I summon back my Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress 1.” (1400/1200)

The rough shape of a dragon appeared from the tornado & the familiar monster reappeared. (1400/1200)

“But he won’t be here for long…because I’m going to Release him for my Luster Dragon 2!” (2400/1400) said Mary as the winged dragon disappeared for a larger emerald dragon, “Take down his Parshath with Emerald Flame!”

Luster Dragon 2 breathed out emerald flames from its mouth & scorched the Dark monster to its destruction.

1586 (LP: 3500) Mary (LP: 3300)

“But that’s not all yet,” said Mary, “I activate my face-down Trap Card, Destruction Follow-up!”

The other face-down card opened & showed a dragon breathing fire onto a ruined castle.

“Since my monster has just destroyed a monster this turn, you take Damage equal to half of the destroyed monster’s Attack,” said Mary as Luster Dragon blasted a ball of fire at the grunt directly. Part of his mask was chipped off as a result of that blast.

1586 (LP: 2550) Mary (LP: 3300)

1586 (LP: 2550) Mary (LP: 3300)

“I say…Ms Willis sure can duel quite well,” remarked the third director.

“Told you so,” said the second director.

“Just 1 card to be set & my agenda for this turn is done,” said Mary.

“My turn,” said 1586 as he drew, “By effect of Valhalla, I shall Special Summon Dark Valkyria in Attack Mode!” (1800/1050)

A sinister-looking dark armored fairy appeared & it looked at Mary wickedly.

“I don’t like that smirk on her face…” said Mary.

“Indeed, for I shall Second Summon her so that her effect can be activated,” said 1586 as Dark Valkyria glowed, “and now, have you heard of Breaker the Magical Warrior?”

“Yah…a powerful Spellcaster monster that gains a Spell Counter when summoned & can use it to destroy Spell or Trap Cards,” said Mary, “but what’s the point?”

“Because my Dark Valkyria also works like that,” said 1586, “I give her a Spell Counter now & she gains 300 Attack points.”

An orb on the DARK Fairy’s armored glowed as she glowed with power. (1800/1050~2100/1050)

“So what!” exclaimed Mary, “she still couldn’t touch my dragon.”

“While Breaker destroys Spells or Traps, my Valkyria can destroy monsters,” said 1586, “Go, Dark Spell Eradication!” (2100/1050~1800/1050)

The glowing orb on Valkyria shot out & blasted Luster Dragon 2 into pieces.

“Now, a direct attack should do,” said 1586 as Dark Valkyria blasted Mary at blank point.

1586 (LP: 2550) Mary (LP: 1500)

1586 (LP: 2550) Mary (LP: 1500)

“I end my turn,” said 1586.

“Mary had better end this quickly…otherwise her job’s at stake!” thought Tyson anxiously.

“Arg…my turn,” said Mary, “I summon the Cave Dragon in Attack Mode.” (2000/100)

A large dragon appeared on the field & it let out a low bellow with its coming.

“But she can’t attack just yet,” said the third director.

“Huh? But that dragon’s stronger than that…uh…witch,” said the first director.

“I think that’s because Cave Dragon can only attack when there’s another dragon on Mary’s side of the field,” said the second director.

“I play my next card, Silent Doom,” said Mary, “this allows me to Special Summon a Normal Monster from my graveyard, but it will be in Defense Mode & thus couldn’t attack. Rise again, Luster Dragon 2!”

The familiar emerald dragon reappeared again & crouched in defense. (2400/1400)

“With a fellow dragon on my side of the field, my Cave Dragon can now attack you,” shouted Mary as Cave Dragon breathed a blast of dust at Dark Valkyria.

1586 (LP: 2350) Mary (LP: 1500)

1586 (LP: 2350) Mary (LP: 1500)

“Pray that my Luster Dragon 2 still can’t attack for now,” said Mary, “I place another face-down card & end my turn now.”

“Draw,” said 1586.

“I play my Dust Tornado to destroy your Hall of the Fallen!” yelled Mary as a tornado blew away Valhalla.

“I play…Reload,” said 1586 as he swapped his entire hand. As he looked at his new hand, he smiled to the cards he got, “I play the Needlebug Nest Trap Card, which allows me to send away 5 cards to the graveyard.”

The grunt then discarded the said 5 cards. (Reaper of the Cards, Dark Returner, Negate Attack, Doma the Angel of Silence & Chaos Burst)

“But I shall acclaim victory,” said 1586, “I play Call of the Haunted to summon back my Dark Returner!” (1000/1000)

From the ground, a geyser of flames shot up & a small slim wicked demon appeared.

“But why would you summon that…unless…” said Mary.

“That’s right! I plan to Release it,” said 1586 as his mask continued to chip off & the demon turned into a portal of light, “so that I may Advance Summon Darklord Zerato!!” (2800/2300)

From that portal, the evil twin of the famed Archlord appeared. Instead of elegance & holy might shown in his counterpart, this one eluded a feeling of evil & corruption in it.

“What in the name of the Lord is that?” exclaimed Tyson.

“When Zera attained the power of the Archlords to become Zerato, he was prophesized by a Spellcaster that at the end of all realities, he would be corrupted by its own power & become this creature before you,” said 1586, “now for my Dark Returner’s effect, he returns to my hand when he has been Released for the Advance Summon of a DARK Monster.”

The Dark Returner card slid out of the graveyard slot & went to his hand.

“As for Zerato’s ability, by discarding a DARK Monster, all of your monsters are destroyed. Go, Armageddon Smite!” said 1586 as he discarded Dark Returner & Darklord Zerato swiped his sword to destroy the field.

At that moment, the grunt’s mask finally cracked apart. It revealed his face to be…

“Dad!” exclaimed Mary, “Uncle Charles & I were worried sick of you.”

“I know not this so-called ‘Dad’, I am No. 1586,” said Darren coldly, “finish her off with Corrupt Scimitar!”

“No way, I activate Offensive Guard,” said Mary, “I can halve your monster’s Attack & draw 1 card.” (2800/2300~1400/2300)

Darklord Zerato then flew towards Mary & slashed her with his scimitar, while she drew a card, Monster Reborn.

1586/Darren (LP: 2350) Mary (LP: 100)

“Since the Battle Phase is over, my Zerato’s regular stats are returned,” said Darren. (1400/2300~2800/2300)

“I equip my monster with Fallen Wings,’ said Darren as a pair of black wings was attached to Darklord Zerato, “and I end my turn. But since I had used the effect of my Darklord, it is destroyed.”

Darklord Zerato groaned as it shattered into pieces.

“All I need is to summon back Luster Dragon 2 & it’s done,” thought Mary.

“But now, my Fallen Wings can revive the equipped monster if it was destroyed by a card effect,” said Darren as Darklord Zerato reappeared again. (2800/2300)

“My turn,” said Mary as she drew the Spell Card, Adamantine Sword Revival.

“There’s still a chance left…” thought Mary.

“I play Monster Reborn to revive Luster Dragon 2 again!” said Mary as the familiar dragon was called back again. (2400/1400)

“That would be useless, my Zerato can destroy it easily,” said Darren mockingly.

“Not when I do this! I activate Adamantine Sword Revival,” said Mary, “by Releasing a Dragon that was just Special Summoned from the Graveyard, I can summon my Diamond Head Dragon!” (0/2000)

The emerald dragon glowed brightly & as the light dimmed, another form replaced it. It was also a green dragon, but this one was made of diamonds.

“But it has 0 Attack Points,” said Tyson, “what could it do?”

“Accumulating Attack points, my dragon gains 1000 points along with that Released Dragon’s,” said Mary, (0/2000~3400/2000) “attack that evil angel with Diamond Burst!”

Diamond Head Dragon unleashed a blast of diamonds at the Darklord to destroy him. That blast had practically shattered Darren’s entire mask into pieces.

1586/Darren (LP: 1750) Mary (LP: 100)

1586/Darren (LP: 1750) Mary (LP: 100)

“Arg…Mary!” exclaimed Darren as he saw his daughter, “what am I doing here & what am I wearing?”

“It’s a long story, Dad,” said Mary.

“Those cards…they aren’t mine,” complained Darren, “I’m giving up the duel.”

Just then, the remaining masked grunts all fled the area in defeat.

“Dad, I will start off by saying this,” said Mary, “I know of your secret in the White Hawks.”

“You…what…Charles told you,” said Darren, “I told him to not involve the young ones!”

“But I’m no longer a child;” retorted Mary, “let us fight the evil together.”

“Since you’re so bold, then let it be so,” complied Darren as he hugged Mary in a tight embrace.

“Well done, Ms Willis,” said someone.

They all turned around & they saw the 3 director all there.

“Ms Willis, we are officially hiring you for our Duel Reporter & you can have your old job back too,” said the second director joyfully.

“Duel Reporter! That’s what you were giving me!” said Mary, “but how did you know that?”

“Well…I had to tell them…and…the rest is history,” stuttered Tyson.

“But it all ends well,” said the first director, “you have shown great dueling skills & your first job would be that Special Cup held tomorrow.”

“That’s 1 of the biggest dueling events in Oregeorgia!” exclaimed Mary, “thanks for giving me a second chance!”

“No, thank your boyfriend, Tyson,” said the third director, “he had prepared a detailed proposal to reinstate you & kept your desk in peak condition during your absence.”

“Ha! I guess I can hand Mary to you without worries now,” said Darren jokingly.

“Dad, I’m a career woman, not some toy to be passed on around guys!” retorted Mary, in which everyone laughed.

Unbeknownst to them, Dox Crowler was only nearby & he had a Duel Disk with him.

“Hello, I’m here for the job,” said Dox sheepishly.

“You’re no longer needed, Mr. Crowler,” said the directors.

“What! I came all this way just to be rejected!!!” snapped Dox, in which everyone else laughed at his rage.

At nightfall, in the sky fortress, Marin & Blake were conversing among themselves in Marin’s private chamber with a bunch of bodies lying around them.

“Damn it! Those grunts couldn’t do anything right!” yelled Blake, “we should have used the Syntho-Daemons instead!”

“But the Syntho-Daemons are under reserve for the big plan,” said Marin calmly, “but must you use your powers to reverse the blood flow of the remaining grunts? That could kill them.”

“Correction, already killed them,” said Blake remorselessly as he stepped on a grunt, “in this world, failures deserve to die.”

Just then, Dario came inside the chamber.

“Excuse me, but His Lordship is having an assembly now in the Main Hall,” said Dario as he peered inside.

“Yah…we will be there in a while,” said Marin.

With that, Dario walked off on his own. As the door closed, Blake let out a breath of relieve.

“Everytime I see that kid, I keep getting goosebumps over him,” claimed Blake as he panted.

“That’s just his power to control emotions, it’s all in your mind,” said Marin as he opened the door, “but now, let’s proceed.”

Later, everyone was gathered in the Main Hall. Masked grunts & several Syntho-Daemons were standing upright on the ground level with a group of cloaked figures & Hametsujin in front of them. The 2 Knights, Marin & Blake, were in front of everyone else. From a dais above, the Overmind walked into the scene.

“Everyone, for too long have we allow weaklings to rule the lands,” said the Overmind, “Their actions have lead to destruction & death. Therefore, by the will of Mana, the soul of the universe, they are deemed unworthy to rule anymore. Tomorrow is when we shall strike! The Special Cup shall provide us with the power to awaken Mana & reshape the universe via destruction & recreation!”

After his speech, everyone cheered for him. However, a few were engrossed in other matters.

“Sometimes…I wonder how I got into this mess?” thought Gethin, “oh yeah, I was foolish back then.”

“The Ove…no…His Lordship had helped me in my time of need & I must aid him now,” thought Dario.

“His Almightiness’ plans…is it truly that?” thought Marin worriedly.

“Whatever happens, I don’t really care,” thought Blake, “as long I have my fun share of destruction, I am satisfied already.”

“Destruction, eh…I like this guy,” thought Hametsujin.

Meanwhile, in Hilton Hotel room where Clair, Fuyuki & Norman were staying, they also had a little talk.

“You know, Clair, this tournament is only tomorrow & I bet that there’s some motive in inviting you,” said Norman, “but…just watch your back.”

“Don’t worry, I will be fine,” reassured Clair, but the spirit form of Mind Master spoke to her, “what! There’s danger.”

“Did your Spirit Partner say something?” asked Fuyuki.

“Yah…and it’s something bad…” said Clair.

Meanwhile, in Oregeorgian General Hospital, Dr Teong was inside Venus’ ward.

“So are you ready for tomorrow?” asked Teong kindly.

“I hope so,” said Venus, “but I still need the wheelchair.”

“Don’t worry, 1 step at a time. You will recover soon,” said Teong, “I have made the necessary arrangements for you, so that you made leave tomorrow on time.”

Meanwhile, in the local park, another duel had occurred & 1 of the duelists yelled as he disappeared. The other duelist smirked at what happened as he held up a card in his hand.

“Tomorrow’s tournament is all in the bag,” said the person, “for I am Ryo Worth.”

Meanwhile, in Cairo International Airport, a large group of Egyptian people were sending off Thoth Muran to his journey to Oregeorgia.

“Go, Thoth! Make Egypt proud of you!” yelled the crowd as Thoth himself went in Customs.
Diamond Head Dragon

LIGHT/Dragon-Effect/LV 8/ATK 0/DEF 2000

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Adamantine Sword Revival". The original ATK of this card is equal to the ATK of the monster Tributed by the effect of "Adamantine Sword Revival" + 1000.

Mary: Today’s card is my Diamond Head Dragon who can only be summoned by effect of Adamantine Sword Revival. At first glance, it has seemingly no Attack Points. However, its Attack is actually 1000+the Attack of the dragon Released by Adamantine Sword Revival. This goes handy with all those revival cards that I have.
In the Oregeorgian Stadium, there was a crowd gathering there. Most of the seats were being occupied & there was a long line at the entrance. Mary & Tyson were there & they were setting up a broadcast of the event.

“Hey there, you guys. Mary Willis is back again & I will be doing the duty of a Duel Reporter. Anyway, I am now at the entrance of the Oregeorgian Stadium where crowds are flocking like birds migrating south for the winter. If you ask why, I’ll tell you. Today’s the grand opening for the Special Cup held by Industrial Illusions Company & it drives 8 special duelists to this battleground for an epic showdown. We shall give you further insight on the event on a later timing, so stay tuned!”

From the White Hawks Headquarters, the various members were watching the show from a television set.

“Hmm…that’s my daughter over there,” said Darren, “she’s so great in this.”

“Indeed,” said Charles as he handed Darren a small set of discs, “all these are records of Mary’s newscasting that I had made over the years. You can watch them in your free time.”

“Thanks…brother,” thanked Darren.

“You’re welcome too,” said Charles, “but I should thank you for acknowledging me as one at last.”

“I’m still having bad vibes about that tournament there,” remarked Gaius.

“Don’t be such a negative dude!” retorted Juan as he drank his wine, “Let’s enjoy the dueling marathon coming up.”

“We won’t be worrying if you just do your work right,” said Gaius angrily.

“Well…there are some things that can even escape me sometimes,” said Juan.

“I wonder where’s Norman?” asked Genevieve as she looked around the area from the sofa she rested on, “I’ve saved him a seat here.”

“I think he went to the Stadium himself as our live agent,” said Teong, who was standing beside Juan.

“Aw man!” sighed Genevieve as she laid there & took a sniff of her pipe.

In the locker rooms of the Stadium, Miora, Norman & Fuyuki were talking to Clair about the tournament.

“Be careful, Clair,” said Norman, “we have no idea on the motives of the Overmind yet or anything else.”

“Don’t worry, I can handle anything they can throw at me,” said Clair bravely.

“Ok…we better be leaving now,” said Fuyuki as they left the room, “we will be sitting next to Marco & his brothers at the 8th row by the way.”

Later, back at the Stadium itself, everyone was excited over the mysterious tournament. Among the audience was Miora, Norman & Fuyuki, who were watching the scene by their seats. Next to them were the 3 De’Lai brothers. Everyone was chatting among themselves when a loud voice boomed throughout the area.

“Everyone, listen!!!” yelled the voice.

Suddenly, the entire stadium was silenced as MC Ben appeared onto the center of the stadium.

“I am MC Ben & I shall be your MC for this super special awesome Special Cup!” cried MC Ben excitedly, “firstly, I would like to thank Industrial Illusions & its chairman, Yugi Tenma!”

He then pointed up to the VIP stand & several holographic footages appeared throughout the stadium.

“Greetings, viewers,” said Yugi, “I bring you this grand tournament for 1 purpose…that is to dig out new talent in the dueling world & this tournament shall be their stage where they can unleash their true potential which shall change the world forever!”

The audience cheered to his speech. While, Charles was in deep thought over what he said.

“So that would mean that most of them are just new in professional dueling…rather strange tournament though,” thought Charles.

“Let us introduce our 8 lucky contestants for this match!” exclaimed MC Ben, “come & give’em a warm welcome!”

The floor in front of MC Ben opened up & 8 platforms rose from the hole. Out of it, Clair appeared & saw her other competitors. Among all of them, she recognised quite a few of the, the wheelchair-bound Venus & the 3 agents of the Overmind, Marin, Gethin & Dario.

“It’s them!” exclaimed Damataeus, shocked at the appearance of those people.

“Yo! Zip it!” yelled a Jamaican man who was in the audience.

“Goodness, he has 3 members there in the tournament,” said Norman, “Clair must be careful now.”

“Say…that dude looks so familiar,” said Darren, “oh yeah, he dueled me that night & I lost & then…I was dueling against Mary.”

Besides them, there were 3 other competitors unfamiliar to her. 1 of them was seemingly a Chinese teenager & he was bounded by a straitjacket & had a MP10K over his ears. The second man was a man wearing merely a sweater with jeans & he looked sadistic & mean. The last man was an Egyptian with tanned skin tone & was wearing an outfit similar to Indiana Jones’ clothing.

“Now that you have seen them, let’s do the match-up!” shouted MC Ben as a hologram of all 8 contestants appeared above him, “Duel Selection, dial on!”

The 8 pictures then jumbled among the 8 places & as it stopped, the match-up became as clear as daylight itself.

Round 1 Match-Up

-Marin VS Thoth

-Dario VS Clair

-Mao VS Venus

-Ryo VS Gethin

“So Clair will be dueling 1 of the Overmind’s men first, eh,” said Norman.

“And there you have it! The first match of the day shall be between Marin Defleto & Thoth Muran!” said MC Ben, “the other duelists may take their leave & watch it from the inner rooms.”

As such, the others had walked off to the exits as the crowds anticipated a great duel.

From the VIP stand, Yugi was not alone as the Overmind & Blake also oversaw the duels.

“So Marin’s going up first, how nice of it,” said the Overmind emotionlessly.

“In case you are in the dark about our competitors, I shall tell you,” said MC Ben, “The gentleman on the left is Marin Defleto, a mysterious man who guarantees a powerful impact on his own duels! While, his opponent is the intellectual of Egypt, the site admin of Thoth’s Infinite Library, I give you…all the way from the burning sands of Egypt…Thoth Muran!!”

“The audience cheered loudly over the introduction as both of them took their sides on the field.

“Duelists, set your Disks & let’s duel!” shouted MC Ben as both of them activated their Duel Disks & he himself retreated to the MC‘s booth.

Marin (LP: 4000) Thoth (LP: 4000)

“My turn, draw,” said Thoth, “I summon Spiria (1200/1600) in Defense Mode & a card face-down as my only moves.”

A fairy with 2 big wings appeared & covered herself with her wings as another set card appeared behind her.

“Oh my! Thoth has just summoned Spiria, a rare card only exclusive to special Egyptian tournaments dedicated to the Egyptian goddess of Isis,” exclaimed MC Ben, “Spiria has the ability to prevent her own destruction by discarding a card & that leaves room for quite a combo1”

“I end my turn, so that I may see how you would resist my tactics,” said Thoth as his eyes glowed, “but loneliness from an early age is always such a dread.”

“What! How did he know?” thought Marin, “Must be his power! But I must get my head in the game!”

“Draw,” said Marin, “I’m afraid that you will fail to use that monster’s effect.”

“Huh?” wondered Thoth.

“It seems that Marin has a strategy to counter the defensive measures that Thoth had just set up,” inferred MC Ben.

“I summon my Vice Dragon in Attack Mode,” said Marin as a purple dragon appeared. (2000/2400)

“But how could you summon that? It’s a Level 5!” exclaimed Thoth.

“Vice Dragon can Special Summoned from my hand if only you control a monster, but its stats will be halved,” said Marin, (2000/2400~1000/1200) “next off, I summon the Tuner Monster of Chaos-End Master in Attack Mode!” (1500/1000)

Beside the dragon, an angelic warrior appeared.

“That’s a Tuner Monster, it could mean only 1 thing,” said Clair as she watched from the inner halls.

“Damn…Synchro Summon,” muttered Thoth.

“Exactly! I Tune both my monsters now!” declared Marin, “The uncaring heart will now file through here! Take witness to its creation-shattering powers! Synchro Summon! Soul of Aloof, Red Dragon Archfiend!!!” (3000/2000)

Chaos-End Master turned itself into 3 rings of light that Vice Dragon filed through & became 5 stars. Then, they all aligned to form a large red dragon that seemed demonic.

“Oh my God!!! Marin has just summoned the legendary Red Dragon Archfiend, the trump card of Turbo Duel King, Jack Atlas!! We are in for some battle now,” said MC Ben.

“Red Dragon Archfiend…1 of the 5 Dragons of the Signers,” muttered Clair as she watched the duel from her room with Venus, “how did he get those?”

“So he used it, the only complication is whether Marin could properly control those spirits,” said the Overmind.

“Juan, type away!” commanded Charles, “I want to know everything about that monster he summoned!”

“Already done that,” said Juan as he faced a laptop, “Ok, let me see…Level 8…DARK Dragon…Synchro Monster…related to the Archfiends & 5 Signer Dragons...also the trump card of Jack Atlas…”

As Red Dragon Archfiend graced the field, it stared down at Spiria, who was frightened by the demonic creature.

Attack Spiria with Scorching Crimson Flare!” commanded Marin.

Red Dragon Archfiend then opened up its jaws & unleashed a stream of flames at Spiria. Some of the flames were poured towards Thoth & some of the audience who could feel the heat of the attack.

“But what’s the point! I discard a card to block out that attack,” said Thoth as he discarded a card.

“The point is that Red Dragon Archfiend had just attacked a monster in Defense Mode…now his effect activates & destroys all of your monsters in Defense Mode,” said Marin, “Burn all those who cower before your power with Absolute Power Force!”

Soon, the flames spread like wild fire & burnt away Spiria.

“Is it just me or is the temperature here rising?” asked Kai.

“I think it’s the latter, those flames sure feel like the real deal,” said Marco.

“Arg…I activate my face-down card, Birthright!” yelled Thoth as the card opened, “I can Special Summon a Normal Monster from my Graveyard with this card.”

“But your Graveyard only has Spiria…” said Marin.

“But I can summon the monster that I just discarded,” said Thoth as a dark vortex appeared in the ground & a skeletal black dragon appeared. Its blood-red eyes pierced into the hearts of the audience, but not Marin & his dragon. (2400/2000)

“He’s got the Red-Eyes B. Dragon!” exclaimed Damataeus, “that’s 1 of the rarest cards in the game ever!”

“In this duel, trump cards of famous duelists just keep popping up! Those who always wanted to see a duel between Jack Atlas & Joey Wheeler, your wish has finally come true & there’s no need to pinch yourself over this,” said MC Ben.

“I place 1 face-down card & end my turn,” said Marin.

“Draw,” said Thoth, “I play Inferno Fire Blast to take out your Life Points by 2400 points! Go, Inferno Fire Blast!”

Red-Eyes B. Dragon flew up & shot a ball of fire at Marin.

Marin (LP: 1600) Thoth (LP: 4000)

Marin (LP: 1600) Thoth (LP: 4000)

“In just 1 move, Thoth had just reduced his opponent’s Life Points by more than half!” said MC Ben.

“I place 2 more cards face-down & there goes your turn,” said Thoth.

“Which I shall gladly take,” said Marin, “Attack his Red-Eyes with Scorching Crimson Flare!”

As such, Red Dragon Archfiend breathed a blast of flames to burn Red-Eyes to oblivion.

Marin (LP: 1600) Thoth (LP: 3400)

“Now I play this-Rebirth Tablet!” said Thoth, “since my monster had just been destroyed, I can summon him back!”

The famed Red-Eyes B. Dragon reappeared again & roared loudly. (2400/2000)

“I activate my own Trap Card, Synchro Blast!” said Marin, “when a Synchro Monster of mine attacks you, you take 500 points of damage.”

Marin (LP: 1600) Thoth (LP: 2900)

Marin (LP: 1600) Thoth (LP: 2900)

“I place a face-down & end my turn,” said Marin.

“Draw,” said Thoth as he drew a Polymerization card, “Do you know of Red- Eyes’ true back-story?”

The crowd then became silent over his story.

“It was said that in the periods when pyramids were still young, a commander of the Roman Empire wandered upon the land of Egypt & was found by the Priests. From them, he learnt of the secrets of Shadow Magic. Eventually, he harvested the souls of his concubines & merged them with his own Ka to form the Black Dragon…or rather what we now call the Red-Eye B. Dragon. Due to its creation, the Red-Eyes have a limitless array of powers that it could utilize. As the King of Games once said, while Blue-Eyes bring victory, but Red-Eyes bring potential…potential which I unleash by playing this!”

The image of a Spell Card appeared, showing a swirling portal with 2 monsters in it.

“I shall use Polymerization to combine both my Red-Eyes & the Meteor Dragon in my hand…to form the almighty Meteor B. Dragon!” (3500/2000) cried Thoth.

Another dragon that was shaped from a meteorite appeared beside Red-Eyes & they both disappeared into a vortex when a bright light engulfed the field. When the light died out, a purple dragon appeared. Along its body were jagged lines styled like lava & the ground.

“They say Yugi Muto once played this card to defeat Kaiba’s Blue-Eyes, quite a déjà-vu session we’re having,” mused Thoth, “but let the reenactment begin with its famous attack, Burning Dark Meteor!”

Meteor B. Dragon shot out a hardened fireball at the dragon fiend & there was a great explosion upon contact, but Red Dragon Archfiend was gone.

Marin (LP: 1100) Thoth (LP: 2900)

Marin (LP: 1100) Thoth (LP: 2900)

“It would seem that Thoth is putting the pedal in the metal in this duel,” said MC Ben, “but Marin had been so calm throughout the duel, is he planning something?”

“I set 2 more cards & end my turn,” said Thoth.

“With my face-down cards being Dragon’s Bead & Dragon’s Rage, there’s no way he could defend against me,” thought Thoth.

“Draw,” said Marin, “I activate my face-down card, Synchro Spirits!”

The card flipped open, showing Junk Warrior, Junk Synchron & White Magician Pikeru.

“But that means Marin can remove a Synchro Monster in his graveyard from play & Special Summon the Synchro Material Monsters,” said Clair.

“And we can already guess what’s trying to do,” continued Venus.

“I remove Red Dragon Archfiend who is in my graveyard from play to call back both Vice Dragon & Chaos-End Master,” said Marin as he took out the Dragon Archfiend & its Synchro Materials reappeared. (2000/2400, 1500/1000)

“So now, he could summon another Level 8 Synchro,” said Norman.

“I discard my Silent Strider to reduce my Vice Dragon’s Level by 1,” said Marin as he discarded the card. (LV: 5~4)

“Actually, a Level 7 Synchro,” corrected Fuyuki.

“I Tune my Level 4 Vice Dragon with my Level 3 Chaos-End Master!” declared Marin, “Chilling flames engulf the entire world! Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! Synchro Summon! Avatar of Ruin, Black Rose Dragon!!!” (2400/1800)

Chaos-End Master turned into 3 rings of light & passed through Vice Dragon, which became 4 stars instead. A pink beam shot up & a large red winged dragon appeared. This one had a resemblance to a rose as its wings were merely rose petals & its main body was the rose flower itself. There were also thorny vines on the underside & tail. It very presence caused strong winds to be formed.

“Another 1 of the Signer Dragons!” exclaimed Clair.

“I heard of that one…some call it the omen of destruction. When you see such a creature in your dreams, they say that a disaster will befall you,” said Venus, “my master once told a story of how his friend once faced the Black Rose Witch in an 8-way tournament & faced this creature on his first duel there. It was practically terrifying from his account to be hit by that thing’s attack.”

“Who was that friend of your master’s?” asked Clair.

“Just some self-righteous knight who can be over his head at times…Jill deLauncebeaxux,” said Venus, “I’ve clobbered his pathetic Masked Knights without breaking a sweat.”

“Juan, typ…” said Charles.

“Done that already,” reported Juan, “the Black Rose Dragon…Level 7…FIRE Dragon Synchro…one of the Signer Dragons…signature card of the Black Rose Witch, Akiza Izayoi…and 2 very deadly effects…”

“Your dragon is still weaker than my own! That move was all for naught!” mocked Thoth.

“On the contrary, that’s what I wanted,” said Marin calmly, “the Black Rose Dragon represents destruction & its presence alone could do just that. When it is Synchro Summoned to the field, I can destroy every last card on the field. Cleanse the field with your Black Rose Gale!”

Black Rose Dragon roared loudly as it flapped its wings & a barrage of rose petals flew everywhere to destroy all the other cards, including itself. The storm was so powerful that even the audience could feel the intense winds stroking their faces.

“What the heck!” exclaimed Damataeus as he covered his face from the winds, “that destruction effect feels so real!”

“Since the field’s all barren, I shall set 2 new cards & let you take over from here,” said Marin.

“I draw,” said Thoth, “by playing Silent Doom, I summon Red-Eyes B. Dragon again!” (2400/2000)

The black dragon with beady red eyes reappeared again.

“I know that most people would get tired when you see the same monster repeatedly, so let’s do something else,” said Thoth, “I Release Red-Eyes to summon…my Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon!” (2400/2000)

Several parts of Red-Eyes B. Dragon cracked as red energy flowed out of its hide. The power soon engulfed Red-Eyes & it imploded into a new creature. It was similar to Red-Eyes, being black with red eyes. However, this one had no claws & it was somewhat metallic.

“Also, Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon gains 300 Attack Points for every Dragon in my graveyard,” (2400/2000~3300/2000) said Thoth, “Let’s end this now with Inferno Darkfire!”

“I counter that move with the Trap Card, No Entry!!” said Marin, “it moves all monsters in Attack Mode to Defense Mode!”

As Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon gathered energy in its mouth, it suddenly landed & folded its wings.

“Next off, I play my face-down card, Wicked Reborn!” said Marin, “By paying 800 Life Points, I can revive a Synchro Monster in my graveyard, but it can’t attack this turn. Return to my side, Black Rose Dragon!” (2400/1800)

Marin (LP: 300) Thoth (LP: 2900)

A tornado of rose petals appeared & the rose dragon appeared & screeched loudly.

“By using that on your opponent’s turn, you won’t suffer due o its downside & still can attack next turn,” said Norman.

“Damn it! I end my turn,” said Thoth.

“Draw,” said Marin as he drew out Code Change, “I shall use the second effect of Black Rose Dragon, which I can activate only by removing a Plant-Type monster in my graveyard.”

“But you have no plants there! So I’m safe from it,” said Thoth.

“In your dreams! I play Code Change & declare Warrior for its effect. So now, I can pick a card on the field that involves monster types like my Black Rose Dragon here. For this turn only, I can use that effect by removing Warrior monsters from play,” said Marin as Black Rose Dragon ate the apparition of Chaos-End Master, “Go, Rose Restriction!”

Several vines on the dragon’s underside glowed & they reached out to bind Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon & forced it into Attack Mode.

“You fool! You could’ve destroyed when it is in Defense Mode!” exclaimed Thoth, “if you want to dig your own grave, I can arrange that for you.”

“I can arrange for your grave, since you will need it the most,” said Marin, “just look at your monster.”

As Thoth looked at his dragon, the vines constricting it were giving the dragon pain. (3300/2000~0/2000)

“But how!” exclaimed Thoth, who was startled by the attack loss.

“Rose Restriction reduces the current Attack of a monster to 0,” said Marin, “I declare my attack now!”

“If that attack hits, it will be no more than a direct attack!” exclaimed Marco, “and with Synchro Blast on the field, even more damage is taken out on.”

“It has been fun all the way, but it all ends now. Sink into the icy flames, Black Rose Flare!” declared Marin as Black Rose Dragon let out a stream of fire & rose petals at Red-Eyes that also went towards Thoth himself.

Marin (LP: 300) Thoth (LP: 0)

Marin (LP: 300) Thoth (LP: 0)

After that blast, Thoth fell on the ground, weakened by that blast. Marin, however, didn’t care less & just stood there.

“And the winner…Marin Defleto!!” yelled MC Ben, “with the combination of Black Rose Dragon, No Entry!! & Wicked Reborn, he had acclaimed a decisive victory over Thoth Muran!!”

“Synchro Dragons…so that’s what he uses,” murmured Clair.

“With Duel #1 gone with, let’s proceed to second one of the day!” said MC Ben, “May Clair Kinet & Dario Vertz please be on standby for the next duel.”

“Wish you luck in your next duel, Clair,” said Venus, ‘I’ll be watching from here.”

“Those 2 cards, Your Excellency…I have never seen Marin using them before,” said Blake, “did you duplicate them?”

“It wasn’t easy, but nothing was impossible,” said the Overmind, “Mr. Tenma, please send in my loyal Knight by my side. I wish to talk with him.”

“Now you see here, I won’t be pushed around by some Ironman!” snapped Yugi, but he was pushed down by the Overmind’s own power.

“Don’t test my patience. I could eliminate your daughter with ease,” said the Overmind as his eye shields glowed, “now, be a good boy & fetch me Marin.”

“Yes, of course,” said Yugi as he left the room.
Black Rose Dragon

FIRE/Dragon-Synchro/LV 7/ATK 2400/DEF 1800

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can destroy all cards on the field. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Plant-Type monster in your Graveyard from play to change 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls to Attack Position, and make its ATK 0.

Overmind: Here’s 1 card that I have recreated specifically for Marin, the Black Rose Dragon. As 1 of the 5 Signer Dragons, this one belonged to the Black Rose Witch, Akiza Izayoi. When it is Synchro Summoned, it leaves the field in ruins as it destroys everything at once. By removing a Plant-Type, you can shift a monster to Attack Mode & it will be powerless with 0 Attack Points. With those cards on hand, Marin must not lose!
Clair: Dario Vertz, the agent of the Overmind who captured my foster family whom I care with all my heart…on what grounds must you do those things?

Dario: He saved me from death; suffering & I shall repay his kindness with my cards. I Release my 3 monsters now for this! Next on Yu-Gi-Oh Key of the Mind-Ch 38-Shadow Tyranny!

Clair: I shall force you of the darkness of deceit & let you see the light of truth.
