they managed to get to Darren a little too easy i think... Perhaps there is a traitor among them.

Ch 30-Knowledge Well

 

Deep within the White Hawks’ secret underground lair, Charles was talking with Juan privately inside a room.

“Perhaps you know why you’re here in my office today?” asked Charles.

“Of course, I did my research,” said Juan, “You wanted me to test 1 of Clair’s allies, am I right or am I right?”

“Yes…and your target will be…” said Charles as he took a profile.

“Miora Nemnia, an Exodia duelist,” interrupted Juan as he took out a deck of cards from his pocket, “as a matter of fact, I have even prepared a special deck for her.”

“How wonderful of you to have prepared so much for this simple duel,” said Charles, “now go.”

“Yes, my Lord,” replied Juan as he took the profile & left.

 

The Oregeorgian Grand Mall was a deluxe shopping mall equipped with shops selling a wide variety of goods. Besides that, it had quite a good reputation for security & customer service. A main attraction there was the Duel Fields there that could be accessed free of charge. Such a place would be a utopia for any teenage duelist girl…such as Miora Nemnia. In fact, she was having quite a mad shopping spree going on. Her 2 arms were armed with multiple bags that would explode at any moment soon. The tired Miora then took a break in the food court & was very depressed.

“What’s the matter, miss?” asked a kind voice nearby.

Miora turned around & saw Juan with a suitcase with him. He was looking at her.

“What the heck!” exclaimed Miora, “Don’t come any closer or I’ll shout, you pervert!”

“Goodness, please do not misunderstand me,” replied Juan, “I mean you no harm.”

“Fine, but I’m watching you,” said Miora, who was still suspicious of the man.

“Before I forget, I am Juan,” introduced Juan as he sat opposite of Miora’s position, “you seem quite gloomy, did something happened?”

“Yeah…my friend…she got kidnapped…” said Miora in an uncharacteristic manner.

“Cheer up, girl,” consoled Juan, “I suggest a duel would be enough to lighten things up.”

“But…” hesitated Miora.

“No buts, girl. I would even lend you my Duel Disk too,” said Juan.

He opened his suitcase to reveal 2 Duel Disks on 1 side & several cards on the other. He then tossed 1 of the Duel Disks to Miora & strapped the other one onto his arm.

“So are you up to my challenge or are you too scared?” said Juan.

“If you insist…you’re on,” replied Miora.

“That’s the spirit,” said Juan, “let’s move out to a more suitable space.”

Later, they stopped by a Duel Field & began their match.

From a distance, Charles, Norman & Clair were watching their duel from above.

“Ladies first, I always say,” said Juan as he gestured for Miora to begin.

“Gladly,” said Miora as she drew, “I summon Sangan in Defense Mode.” (1000/600)

The 3-eyed ball-shaped fiend appeared on the field & crouched in defense.

“And that’s all,” said Miora.

“Then it ought to be my turn,” said Juan, “I summon Zombyra The Dark.” (2100/500)

The dark superhero appeared & struck a heroic pose.

“I suppose that you’re gonna attack Sangan now,” guessed Miora.

“Not really. I give him this…the Omega Glasses,” said Juan as a pair of glasses with a third eye appeared around Zombyra’s eyes, ‘with this card, I can take a look at 1 card in your hand by forgoing the equipped monster’s attack for this turn.”

The Omega Glasses glowed brightly & the image of a card was seen above Miora. It was the Right Leg of the Forbidden One.

“So you do have Exodia,” said Juan, “since I can’t battle this turn, I will leave my duel with 2 more face-downs.”

“Draw,” said Miora, “and I…”

“In your Standby Phase, I activate Deck Devastation Virus,” said Juan, “by Releasing 1 DARK Monster of mine which has at least 2000 Attack, all monsters with the maximum attack score of 1500 on the field & in your hand are destroyed.”

Zombyra cast a dark aura around him & then shattered into darkness. The dark shards then floated around the field, causing Sangan to shatter as well. Miora reluctantly took out a Witch of the Black Forest to her hand. However, the virus had reached out to her hand & both Witch of the Black Forest & Right Leg of the Forbidden One shattered immediately.

“If I am correct, the only remaining cards in your hand ought to be Spell or Trap Cards, since an Exodia duelist won’t keep high-attack monsters in their decks,” said Juan.

“I place 3 cards face-down & end my turn,” said Miora.

“Draw,” said Juan, “and I play the Pot of Greed to draw 2 cards.”

The ugly green fiendish-looking pot appeared & shattered immediately, leaving Juan to draw 2 cards.

“I play Tribute Burial,’ said Juan, “by removing 1 monster from each of our graveyards, I can Normal Summon a Level 6 monster without any Release. So I remove your Right Leg & my Zombyra to summon…The End of Anubis!” (2500/0)

The apparitions of both Zombyra & Exodia’s Right Leg merged together as 1 dark aura that erupted onto the field. Out of it, a black bipedal demonic jackal appeared & roared.

“Attack with Deathstrike Claw!” commanded Juan.

“I activate Dark Magic Retribution!” said Miora, but the card shattered.

“All card effects that target cards in the graveyard are negated by effect of Anubis,” said Juan, “continue your attack.”

The End of Anubis raised its claw & reached out for Miora to slash her.

“She is still handicapped by that Fiend,” said Charles, “similar to his namesake, his effect guards the dead by rendering all card effects aiming cards in the graveyard useless.”

“Therefore, when an Exodia past is sent there, that’s it,” said Norman, “and 1 of them has already been removed…that move must be aimed towards stopping Exodia Necross.”

“Say, what kind of deck does Juan use anyway?” asked Clair.

“A brief outlook of it will indicate it as a DARK Deck, but Juan always studies his opponent heavily & carefully,” explained Norman, “so, he would usually include various cards designed to counter as much of the opponent’s tactics & moves as possible.”

“I will follow up with Card Destruction to replace our hands,” said Juan as they discarded their own hand & replaced them with a new one. Miora noticed that there was another Exodia part (Right Arm of the Forbidden One) among those cards drawn, but Juan could guess what she got.

“I play my face-down card, Serial Spell!” said Juan, “by forgoing my entire hand, I can reuse a Spell Card like Card Destruction.”

Juan once again discarded his hand, while Miora grudgingly did the same & drew once again.

“I end my turn,” said Juan, gesturing Miora to begin her turn soon.

“Fine,” said Miora as she drew her card.

“By the effect of my virus card, you must reveal that card you just drew & that’s goes on for the next 2 turns,” said Juan.

Miora then turned the card around to reveal it as Mystical Elf.

“Her Attack score is only but a mere 800, so it must be discarded,” said Juan.

Miora simply discarded her Mystical Elf as simple as that…and several cards suddenly slid out of her Graveyard slot.

“No way!” exclaimed Juan, “I didn’t see that coming…”

“By returning every monster that lay in my grave back to my deck, I can Summon…Exodius, the Ultimate Forbidden Lord!” (?/0)

In a burst of light, the armored version of Exodia appeared. (0/0)

“With your graveyard devoid of monsters, your Forbidden Lord is powerless,” noted Juan.

“I know that, so I play Foolish Burial to take my Mystical Elf back there again,” said Miora as she slid Mystical Elf in her Graveyard, “and I play this, the Flute of Hammelin.”

Another Spell Card soon appeared, showing a piper playing music in a night scene.

“According to the diary of Hamelin the Pied Piper of Vengeance, they said that he was angered the the townspeople didn’t pay for his services & in revenge used his power of absolute obedience to lure all the children of the town to uncertain doom,” accounted Juan, “the morale of the incident-don’t mess with a Psychic unless you know how to deal with him.”

“A Psychic! You know them!” exclaimed Miora.

“That’s why we never let him go on missions,” lamented Charles, “he simply has a habit to talk way too much & elaborately.”

“But I didn’t know that it was real,” remarked Clair.

“Trust me, many stories of the supernatural are versions of the numerous encounters in the past between Psychics & the regular humans,” said Norman.

“As for that question, I will explain later,” said Juan, “just like that story, this card drags every other Mystical Elf there is to the Graveyard.”

Miora sent her only other copy of Mystical Elf to the graveyard. (0/0~2000/0)

“Now I attack your Anubis with my Exodius. Go, Lightning Fire Flash!” commanded Miora.

“You’re only sending your monster to its demise!” said Juan.

“Actually, no,” said Miora as she held Left Arm of the Forbidden One & slid it to the Graveyard, “Whenever Exodius declares an attack, I can discard another Normal Monster & that gives 1000 more Attack points.” (2000/0~3000/0)

Exodius unleashed a blast of red energy at The End of Anubis to destroy it, causing a great explosion.

As the smoke around the area cleared up, The End of Anubis was still seen standing there with an aura projecting around it.

“But how!” exclaimed Miora.

“Because I activated my Continuous Trap Card, Soul Anchor,” said Juan as the card appeared, “It is instantly equipped to my monster & it cannot be destroyed as a result of battle & it will remain in Attack Mode always.”

“Guess this deck is based on The End of Anubis who can negate all effects involving the Graveyard,” remarked Norman.

“But Miora still has Exodius who simply draws power from the Graveyard, so she should be alright,” said Clair.

“I set 1 card & end turn,” said Miora.

“Draw!” said Juan, “I play the Pot of Greed for 2 cards.”

The green fiendish pot appeared. It chuckled for a moment as it burst into shards as Juan drew 2 cards.

“Now I play Arms Hole to get 1 Equip Spell by milling away 1 card,” said Juan as he discarded the top card of his deck (Helpoemer) & then took out another card from his deck & placed it into his hand.

“But he couldn’t summon a monster this turn, so that Equip Spell ought to be something,” said Clair.

“Now I’ll use it, I play Rainbow Veil!” said Juan as a multi-coloured aura surrounded The End of Anubis.

“This is bad,” exclaimed Charles, “Rainbow Veil negates all Monster effects during battle, if End of Anubis attacks Exodius…”

“It will be all over since Exodius will have 0Attack points,” continued Clair.

“It has been real & fun, but all things must come to an end & that time is now. End of Anubis, Deathstrike Claw!” yelled Juan.

“I can send Giant Soldier of Stone from my deck to grave in order to further power him up,” said Miora as she discarded the said monster. (3000/0~4000/0)

“When a monster with Rainbow Veil attacks, all monster effects are useless against him,” said Juan. (4000/0~0/0)

“I activate Armor Break,” said Miora, “this card can destroy an Equip Spell card…such as your Rainbow Veil.” (0/0~4000/0)

The rainbow-like aura surrounding End of Anubis disappeared as it struck Exodius with its claw, but Exodius intercepted the attack & fired his own attack on the jackal demon. However, it still survived the blast.

“Fortunately, Soul Anchor still prevents End of Anubis’ demise,” said Juan, “I set 1 face-down & end my turn.”

‘Draw!” said Miora, “I play this-Rage of the Forbidden One! It can negate all Continuous card effects like your Soul Anchor.”

The Soul Anchor card turned dull & the pink aura also disappeared as well.

“Now that your monster is rendered as a mortal, I will attack it & Exodius grows stronger yet again,” said Miora as she discarded Left Leg of the Forbidden One to the graveyard, “Go, Lightning Fire Flash!”

Exodius launched an energy wave towards End of Anubis, causing an explosion. Howls of pain were heard from the scene, apparently coming from End of Anubis. As the smoke cleared up, End of Anubis was indeed gone, but Juan was still standing.

“But that last attack should have defeated you unless…” exclaimed Miora as she suddenly remembered that face-down card.

“Before your attack connects, I play Emergency Provisions & send the useless Soul Anchor to the graveyard to gain 1000 Life Points…just enough for me to resist your attack,” said Juan.

“But don’t forget, I can now use my Graveyard & I play this Qiuck-Play Spell Card,” said Miora as another card appeared on the field.

“Hey! That’s Necro Illusion!” said Clair, “it can revive an opponent’s monster that was destroyed recently, but can only stick around for this turn.”

A beam of light flew out of Juan’s graveyard & it formed into The End of Anubis. (2500/0)

“And my Battle Phase is still far from over, so End of Anubis, attack!” ordered Miora as End of Anubis struck Juan with its claws.

Juan knelt down in defeat, but was satisfied with the duel. Miora walked up to Juan & looked at him.

“I think you need to answer some of my questions now,” said Miora.

“Questions that we can answer, milady,” said Charles as he walked towards with Norman & Clair following.

 

Later in the evening, Miora & Clair were in Norman’s car as they talked about the recent happenings.

“So that guy was to test me on how I could do against Psychics,” said Miora.

“Yah & you have passed it with flying colours,” said Clair.

“I’m glad to have the power to save my friends,” said Miora, “and I will make good use of it.”

“Ladies, we have arrived at Miora’s house,” said Norman, who was the driver.

“So long, Clair,” said Miora as she left the car.

“Bye,” said Clair as she smiled.

 

Meanwhile, in Miami Maximum Security Asylum where the most twisted minds were kept there, another incident occurred there. It was apparently break time as several patients were around the facility & 2 patients there were playing tabletop Duel Monsters as a few other patients were looking at the duel too. 1 of the patients was angered by the fact he lost again against that guy.

“Damn it!” cursed the patient, “Mao! What’s your secret of winning your duels so easily?”

“Yah…it’s as though he can read his mind or something…” remarked another patient who was observing the duel.

“Not be crazy! That’s impossible!” rebuked another spectator.

“Hmph, we are all crazy to begin with. That’s why we were locked up here,” said the other player called Mao. He was a white-haired & pale skinned Chinese youth in a straitjacket with white baggy pants that had straps everywhere. He also had a pair of headphones connected to a MP10k, the latest in all MP technology.

“Yo, Mao!” called a commanding voice.

All the patients turned around & saw a large muscular man in police uniform behind them. Along with him were 2 guards.

“Yah, Mr. Warden,” said Mao as he smiled.

“I don’t know how, but…” said the warden.

“I had been invited to the Special Cup Tournament held by Yugi Tenma in the city of Oregeorgia in about 1 week’s time,” said Mao as his eyes glowed dimly.

‘Uh…yeah…anyway…” said the warden.

“Just give me the invitation, sir,” said Mao.

“Ok…” said the dumb-founded warden as he gave Mao the invitation, “and seeing that you are requested to take part in this tournament…”

“I will be paroled for now, but I shouldn’t be getting my hopes,” said Mao.

“Glad that you know,” said the warden, “everyone, return to your cells…”

“It’s only 5 minutes, so what’s the rush?” remarked Mao.

“Fine, but I want this place soulless when I get back,” said the warden, who was getting infuriated by Mao.

Juan: I shall be talking about a card in today’s anti-Exodia deck-The End of Anubis. According to my extensive research on the card, I have found out that it could easily negate any effect affecting or activating in the graveyard. With that kind of power at hand, it can crush down several strategies…including Miora’s Exodia.

Miora: That’s why I have Exodius with me & that card was the reason why you lost anyway.

Ch 31-Virus Alert

Ch 31-Virus Alert

 

Along the silent streets of Oregeorgia, Norman & Charles were in the car & they were discussing about something.

“So Miora has proven herself to be able to handle them…now what,” said Norman.

“I wish to see how Marco will fare against…I need 1 of the best duelists to give him a real challenge,” said Charles, “perhaps you could…”

“Nah, and besides, we need this match to be behind closed doors,” said Norman, “the last thing we need is nosy reporters coming up.”

Suddenly, Juan appeared on a small screen.

“Sir, I have found out that Marco De’Lai has no Pro League Duels tomorrow as he will be visiting a childhood friend of his called Venus Lucia, aged 16, in Oregeorgian General Hospital tomorrow at 1300 hours,” reported Juan, “furthermore, I have conducted further research that Venus might be a Psychic too & she’s a member of the Order of the Cyber Style.”

“Hmm, this is big,” said Charles, “thanks for the info.”

“Just doing my job, sir. Seeing you satisfied makes me satisfied too,” said Juan as the transmission faded out.

“He might talk too much, but you got to admit that he does go good research,” said Charles.

“Yah…and that hospital is where Teong works at, maybe he could…” said Norman.

Charles held up his handphone & keyed in several numbers.

“Teong, sorry to bother you at this time,” said Charles over the phone, “but would you help me out in a matter of upmost importance?”

 

Later that night, it was night time in Oregeorgian General Hospital; Teong was accompanied by 2 nurses in a ward. In the ward, there was a teenage girl sleeping there. Teong tapped her shoulder to wake her up, and she woke up.

“Yeah, what’s the matter, doctor?” asked the girl.

“We need to transport you to another ward due to lack of available wards for other patients that are in critical danger,” said Teong, “on the behalf of the Hospital, I apologise. Nurses, take Ms Venus Lucia away.”

The nurses then prepared a nearby wheelchair & they lifted Venus away. All this time, Venus’ eyes glowed.

“In his heart, Dr Teong is a man of responsibility & holds upmost care for his friends & patients & an absolute sense of loyalty towards his duties,” thought Venus, “yet; he carries a secret agenda in his actions.”

 

The next day, Marco was putting his shoes on as he was about to leave the house. His 2 brothers, Damataeus & Kai, were watching him & sending him off.

“Are you going to see your girlfriend?” asked Kai slyly.

“She’s not my girlfriend!” snapped Marco, whose face turned red.

“Oh, look at yourself in a mirror. You are blushing & your shade of red is as red as the sun,” remarked Damataeus.

“Marco and Venus, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G…” chanted Kai in a sing-song manner.

“You 2 are impossible, grow up someday please,” lamented Marco, “I’m leaving & tell Mom I will be back by dinner.”

“Whatever…lover boy…ha-ha-ha…” answered Damataeus, whose last words made Marco uptight as he left the house.

At 1pm in the Oregeorgian General Hospital, Marco was at the reception desk & he was talking to the nurse there.

“I’m looking for a patient called Venus Lucia,” said Marco.

“Let me see…” said the nurse as she typed in her computer, “oh! You’re Marco De’Lai.”

“Yah, what’s the problem about that?” asked Marco.

The nurse ravaged in her pile of documents near her & found an envelope & gave it to him.

“Dr Teong had instructed me to give this to a Marco De’Lai who would be visiting Venus Lucia today at 1pm,” said the nurse, “I don’t know why or how though.”

Marco then opened up the envelope & read the letter in it.

My name is Teong & I am a doctor here. I have taken Venus Lucia in my custody last night & if you want to see her again, you must meet me in the small park outside the Hospital area as soon as possible. Also, bring our deck along.

Marco was immediately angered by the fact that Venus was apparently kidnapped by a doctor. He then took out his deck & stared at it.

“Come, let’s rescue Venus!” thought Marco as he left hastily.

Soon, Marco was in the small park outside the area, with his Duel Disk & he looked around for the so-called ‘Dr Teong’.

“Hey there, are you Marco De’Lai?” called out an Asian-like voice.

Marco turned around & saw Dr Teong, who also had a Duel Disk with him.

“Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Dr Teong, the leading doctor of Unknown Afflictions here,” introduced Teong.

“Cut the small talk, I want Venus back!” demanded Marco.

“What’s the hurry, boy?” wondered Teong, “why not we have a duel? They always do wonders for knowing new people.”

“I’ll entertain you for now, but you better tell me where’s Venus,” said Marco angrily as he activated his Duel Disk, “Game on!”

From far, Charles, Norman & Clair were seen watching them. Beside them was Venus, who was on her wheelchair.

“I’ll go first & I draw!” said Marco, “I summon Cyber Phoenix in Attack Mode.” (1200/1600)

A seemingly mechanical phoenix appeared in flames & screeched loudly at Teong.

“And I place 1 card face-down & end my turn,” said Marco.

“I expected more from you, a dueling legend of the Pro League, but it’s my turn,” said Teong, “All I will do is to simply put a monster face-down & 3 other face-down cards.”

1 card appeared in a face-down horizontal position, while 3 others appeared vertically.

“Not much of an attacker, I see,” said Marco as he drew, “I summon the Machine King Prototype in Attack Mode!” (1600/1500)

A small humanoid machine appeared; its appearance indicated that it was of an old model.

“This guy may just be a prototype for the Machine Kings, but it still gains 100 points for every other Machine there is,” (1600/1500~1700/1500) said Marco, “I believe that it is time for my monsters to attack. Go, Machine King Prototype, take down that face-down with Experimental Jet Fist!”

The prototype machine raised its fist & it automatically fired at the face-down card.

“I activate the Trap Card called A Feint Plan!” announced Teong, “you can’t attack my face-down monsters this turn…in other words, you can’t attack at all.”

“Arg…I end my turn,” said Marco madly.

“My turn,” said Teong calmly, “You must be dying to know what kind of monster I have underneath that I must be so secretive about. Let me quench your thirst of curiosity by flipping it.”

The horizontal card turned around as vertical & opened up. A green insect-like worm appeared from the card & it disappeared in a stream of light that went into Marco’s deck.

“What the hell!” exclaimed Marco?

“That card was Parasite Paracide, a special type of bug that will crawl deep inside the opponent’s deck when flipped up,” said Teong, “with that said, I summon the Chainsaw Insect.” (2400/0)

As such, a grey giant ant appeared. Its mouth was like a real chainsaw.

“Now I play Jade Insect Flute,” said Teong, “With this card, you must put an Insect monster in your deck on the top of your deck.”

“But I have no…” said Marco, ‘no…Parasite Paracide…”

“Yes, so do it now, I don’t have all day…I’m running on a schedule to defeat you by nightfall,” said Teong.

Marco was reluctant, but still found that card in his deck & placed it on the top of the deck.

“Now I attack your Cyber Phoenix with my Chainsaw Insect. Go, Buzzing Grip!” ordered Teong as Chainsaw Insect rushed at Cyber Phoenix & crushed it with its mouth. The Machine King Prototype unleashed a few sparks as well. (1700/1500~1600/1500)

“I activate Defense Draw to negate Battle Damage & I can draw a card as well,” said Marco, “not to mention when my Cyber Phoenix is destroyed in battle, I can get another draw.”

“By destroying a monster, my Chainsaw Insect gives you another card too,” said Teong, “by that will be your downfall for I activate Greed & for every card drawn by a card effect, the person drawing it will lose 500 Life Points per card.”

Marco gulped as he drew the 3 cards & energy flowed from the Greed Card to him & shocked him.

“I just noticed that 1 of those 3 cards was Parasite Paracide,” said Teong, “when you drew him, it will instantly come out to the field in Defense Mode & when that happens, you lose another 1000 points.”

Suddenly, Parasite Paracide appeared onto Marco’s side of the field (500/300) & it faced Marco to attack him.

“And there’s more…my Parasite will now transform all of your monsters into Insects,” said Teong as Machine King Prototype was transformed from a robot to an armored bug.

“That could be something bad, Marco’s deck are mainly Machines & they need all the Machine support they can get,” said Clair, “and with their types changed, most of Marco’s draw might be dead draws.”

“Exactly why we have selected Teong for this job, his Insect deck have various means & ways to change the opponent’s types to Insect & that works against Marco,” said Norman, “just as how we had believed that Juan’s strategy can handicap Miora yesterday.”

“Not to mention the special inclusions that Juan had advised,” elaborated Charles, “Teong now has a powerful Anti-Machine/Fusion deck that could easily dissolve Marco’s Cyber Dragons.”

“C’mon, Marco, I know you can do it…” murmured Venus.

“I play Insect Barrier to block off all your Insect monsters’ attacks & I turned all of them as such,” said Teong as a laser-like barrier surrounded his side, “I end my turn.”

“I draw,” said Marco as he drew out his ace monster, the Cyber Dragon.

“I could Release Parasite Paracide to summon him & I will be freed from its effect…he ain’t the smartest duelist around, is he?” thought Marco.

“If you are thinking of Releasing my present, think again. I won’t be stupid enough to let you Release that card like that,” said Teong, “I activate my face-down card, Crystal Seal.”

The face-down card opened up & Parasite Paracide was instantly sealed inside a block of crystal.

“As long as that card is active, Parasite Paracide can’t be Released or be involved in a battle,” explained Norman, “I would expect that from him, pulling off that stunt to save his strategy like that.”

“Arg…I Release Machine King Prototype for my Cyber Dragon,” said Marco as Machine King Prototype disappeared for the famed dragon of Cyber Style, which curled itself. However, it roared in pain as it became green & more like a gigantic version of Parasite Paracide, (2100/1600) “but he shall be in Defense Mode.”

“I think I’m going to hurl now,” remarked Venus.

“There, there…you’re gonna be ok,” consoled Clair.

“My favourite monster…looking like the…thing that’s ruining my duel…how ironic,” thought Marco.

“I set 2 cards face-down & I end my turn,” said Marco.

“My turn,” said Teong, “I Release Chainsaw Insect for Her Royal Highness, the Insect Princess!”

Chainsaw Insect shattered into grains of lights as a green slender humanoid bug flew out. (1900/1200) Her form sent a graceful feeling throughout the area. However, that didn’t change the invigoration of the 2 duelists.

“That makes no sense! Why did he Release a stronger monster for a weaker one?” wondered Venus.

“When Insect Princess is on the field, all of your Insect monsters must be in Attack Mode,” said Teong as Cyber Dragon & Parasite Paracide shifted positions, “now I play Equip Spell Poison Wings.”

The wings of Insect Princess glowed with a purple aura.

“When the equipped monster attacks, the attack target will lose 500 Attack points & it destroys a monster, you lose 300 points,” said Teong, “and now, attack him with Poison Dust Twister!”

Insect Princess flapped her insect wings & a wave of poisonous dust was scattered towards Cyber Dragon. (2100/1600~1600/1600)

“Oh no! I activate my face-down card, Attack Reflector Unit!” announced Marco, “It lets me Release Cyber Dragon for…the Cyber Barrier Dragon.” (800/2800)

Cyber Dragon glowed for a while & it transformed into a new form. It was similar to the original Cyber Dragon, except that this version had a collar with 4 extensions. It also fell prey for Parasite Paracide’s power & became another giant version of the parasite monster.

“Are you digging your grave?” questioned Teong, “You’ll be finished by that attack.”

“When Cyber Barrier Dragon is in Attack Mode, I can negate 1 of your attacks,” said Marco, “Cyber Barrier!”

Insect Princess’ dust storm shot towards Cyber Barrier Dragon, but the collar extensions suddenly activated to form an energy shield to block out the attack.

“So you saved your skin for now,” said Teong, “but we will see how long that will last. I end my turn with 2 more face-downs.”

“Draw,” said Marco as he drew another Effect Monster, the Cyber Valley, “I summon Cyber Valley in Attack Mode.” (0/0)

A mechanical snake appeared & it also was transformed into another version of Parasite Paracide.

“0 Attack! Is he mad?” exclaimed Clair.

“But with Insect Princess on the field, he has no real choice,” said Venus.

“But Cyber Valley’s effects…” said Clair.

“Cyber Valley has 3 different effects & I will be using Effect No.2,” said Marco, “by removing Cyber Valley & another monster that I control from play, I can draw 2 cards.”

“But you lose 1000 points because of that…no…your real aim is to remove Parasite Paracide from play,” said Teong.

“Brilliant! Crystal Seal might prevent Release or destruction by battle, but it can’t do anything in the face of being removed from play,” said Norman.

Cyber Valley & Parasite Paracide disappeared into thin air as Marco drew 2 more cards. 2 energy bolts flew out of the Greed card & struck Marco. Cyber Barrier Dragon then returned to its original Machine form.

“This is very bad,” said Venus, “Marco is down to his last 500 points, while Dr Teong retains his full Life Points.”

“You had better drew something good because you don’t have much life left,” said Teong, “or rather…no life left! I activate Greed to force you to draw 2 cards.”

“Well, thanks for that…because I activate Fusion Guard,” said Marco, “by discarding 1 Fusion Monster, I can negate Effect Damage. Therefore, I discard…Cyber Twin Dragon.”

Marco then drew 2 cards & electricity came out of the Greed card, but it was blocked off by a shield as Marco discarded Cyber Twin Dragon.

“I have to say…thanks for all those cards,” said Marco as he smirked at Teong, “I play…the Spell Card…Overload Fusion!”

As the card appeared, the ground rumbled as though there was an earthquake.

“By removing monsters on my side of the field & graveyard-bound from the game, I can summon a DARK Machine-Type Fusion monster to the field,” shouted Marco, “Therefore; I remove Cyber Dragon, Cyber Barrier Dragon, Cyber Twin Dragon, Cyber Phoenix & Machine King Prototype from play to summon…the almighty Chmeratech Overdragon!!!”

The images of Cyber Dragon, Cyber Twin Dragon, Cyber Phoenix & Machine King Prototype appeared as they all vanished into light. Then, a dome of black metal ending a mechanical tail appeared. 5 hatches of the dome opened up & a mechanical dragon head came out of each of them. Then, all of the heads roared in rage. (?/?)

“Its Attack & Defense Points are equal to the number of monsters used in it’s summon times 800. With 5 monsters, his Attack is 4000!” said Marco. (?/?~4000/4000)

“Too bad that all your efforts to summon him would be wasted…” said Teong, “I activate Anti-Fusion Device to destroy your Overdragon.”

“I guard him with this-Card Guard!” said Marco, “by discarding 1 card, I can negate your Trap Card’s effect.”

Marco discarded a card from his hand & Anti-Fusion Device shattered into pieces.

“So what! Your Chimeratech Overdragon might be powerful, but it can’t attack me directly,” said Teong.

“But I shall still attack you. Go, Strident Blaze Overdrive!!!” yelled Marco as all the heads of Chimeratech Overdragon fired their attacks at 1 go to form a super-attack at Insect Princess. Insect Princess was vaporized y the combined attack within a second of the collision.

“I activate Half-Life to resurrect your destroyed Insect Princess, but she only gets half of her original Attack,” said Marco as Insect Princess reappeared again, (1900/1200~950/1200) “and now, my monster will attack her again! Strident Blaze Overdrive!”

Chimeratech Overdragon fired its powerful attack at Insect Princess again, destroying it again.

Teong fell down in exhaustion, but Marco was far from over.

“Tell me where Venus is! Or else…Chimeratech, Strident Blaze Overdrive!” cried Marco.

“That kid just won…and he had gone bonkers!” remarked Norman, “we need to stop him.”

Clair raised her palm & a telekinetic force was fired at the dueling area. However, 1 of Chimeratech Overdragon’s heads intercepted the attack with a Strident Blast.

“That monster…it’s becoming real…” said Clair.

“There’s no way that could…but…it might be crossing over to our world!” cried Charles.

“Wait, I can stop him…I have a way,” said Venus as her eyes glowed.

“Sam Hill! She’s indeed a Psychic!” exclaimed Charles.

“That surely teaches us to trust in Juan more often,” said Clair, “but what’s her power?”

“But the big problem now is that…look!” exclaimed Norman.

Chimeratech Overdragon was moving around. Despite the black dome, it was moving rather fast & it was heading for the rest of the city.

“You 3, Handle Chimeratech! I’ll deal with the source!” yelled Venus.

“But…” said Clair.

“Only I can solve this…because I was the one who did all this!” confessed Venus.

FLIP: Put this card face-up in your opponent's Deck and shuffle it. When your opponent draws this card, it is Special Summoned on your opponent's side of the field in face-up Defense Position and inflicts 1000 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points. Then all face-up monsters on your opponent's side of the field become Insect-Type as long as this card remains face-up on the field.

 

Norman: Technically, Teong should be do this instead…but due to what happened back there, I have to do this myself. Today’s card is Parasite Paracide. From what I saw, when it is flipped up, it retreats to the opponent’s deck and…when the opponent draws it, Boom! It comes out onto the field automatically & you lose 1000 points.

Charles: Norman, finish this fast! That monster is burning the town…ah...my butt’s on fire!!!

Norman: Oh, in a minute! Not to mention that all other monsters will become an Insect too…

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who had been loyally reading this.

Secondly, I would like to say that this is my greatest chapter with over 5000 words & covering 12 pages on MS Word. Without further ado, I present to you...Ch 32...

Previously on Yu-Gi-Oh Key of the Mind

In order to gain more allies in the great battle we all had envisioned, we sent Teong to try Marco out. However, everything changed when Marco summoned…that thing, Chimeratech Overdragon! After that duel, it had seemingly come to life & went on a destruction spree. Also, Venus knows something about all this…and she may be our only hope…

 

“What do you mean by that?” demanded Norman.

“It’s rather complicated; I’ll explain it all to you later. But now, I got something to do,” said Venus as her eyes glowed even brighter & both Marco & Venus remained still & immobile.

“Venus, Venus…” called Norman.

“Forget about her for now, our worry should be the monster,” said Charles as they left to handle the greater danger.

 

Chimeratech Overdragon was slithering throughout the city, blasting everything in sight with its attacks. Clair, Norman & Charles arrived at the place, only to see the mayhem caused. Buildings were set ablaze & crumpling apart. The famous local reporter, Mary Willis, was also in the area of destruction with a cameraman next to her.

“Wow! Check that out!” exclaimed Mary as she saw Chimeratech Overdragon wrecking havoc, “That’s something you don’t see every day, Tyson. A ferocious monster attacking a city…reminds me of King Kong & Godzilla except that we are actually feeling the scenario.”

“Enough of your weird movie references, we should be running like them,” said the cameraman, Tyson, as he pointed at the other people who were running away.

“Nonsense!” rebuked Mary, “This is great feed for the station. Just like that time many decades ago when Duel Monsters appeared worldwide & that other time with the worldwide eclipse that somehow made everyone vanish. So, set up that camera.”

Tyson could only just do what Mary told him & set up the camera as told. Meanwhile, Mary powdered herself in preparation of the news broadcast.

“Attention, all! This is yours truly, Mary Willis, braving the storms to bring you this news. The city of Oregeorgia is currently under attack by…what that seems to be the Duel Monster called Chimeratech Overdragon. Currently, it is rampaging the entire area & local enforcement are no match against this monstrosity. We have received information that military support will be here shortly, so have no fear…”

Just then, a Strident Blast hit an area near them. Terrified, they decided to run away together in fear.

“To top things off, here’s a friendly advice from me-RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!”

“But what about the news?” asked Tyson, “I thought you said…”

“Tyson, never mind what I said, mind what I am saying now!” yelled Mary, “and I’m saying run now! You should have told me that we were in danger earlier. What kind of boyfriend are you?”

“Shush, Mary…we are still live,” said Tyson.

“What the F***ING HELL!!!” yelled Mary, “now everyone knows the truth now! This is not my day at all.”

“You can say that again. I think at least half of Oregeorgia heard that word coming out of your mouth,” said Tyson, “looks like someone’s getting a pay cut or even a demotion, but I can still support you, baby.”

Mary only growled at him as she didn’t want to ruin her reputation even more.

 

In the local Hilton Hotel that was safe from the chaos since it was on the other side of town, Fuyuki was watching that live broadcast news & chuckled at the last part.

“They are sure quite dumb this time round…but why is there a real Duel Monster tearing the place apart?” wondered Fuyuki, “Clair & the others may be need my help.”

With that, he quickly rushed out of the room to aid Clair…wherever she was.

 

Meanwhile, in a hazy environment, Venus had been walking around there. She apparently didn’t need the aid of a wheelchair as she was walking with her 2 legs.

“This is so foggy. By my power, fog of the subconscious, begone!” ordered Venus as the surrounding fog slowly faded away.

As the fog faded, it revealed the surrounding area as something one would see in the Far East with all the old Oriental houses all over the place. However, the sky was red & the ground had something that seemed to be bloodstains in a flowing pattern. The buildings there were also crumpling & the house behind Venus suddenly collapsed, shocking her.

“Oh lord! This is getting insane!” shouted Venus, “That’s it! Hametsujin, come out now!”

“Now, now…I’m everywhere, girl,” said an ominous voice that echoed throughout the place.

Out of nowhere, black smoke came out of several parts of the area & they combined into a single mass. From then, a humanoid form walked out as the smoke. It was remarkably similar to Marco, although his eyes carried malice & sadism.

“Greetings, Venus Lucia,” greeted Hametsujin.

“You dare to resurface after all these years, you demon! And you even took the form of Marco!” said Venus, “Grand Master had sealed you once & so will I!”

“Times have changed, girl. I have grown stronger ever since he sealed me inside Chimeratech Overdragon,” said Hametsujin, “and I shall proof that with a duel.”

“You’re…challenging a Cyber Duelist…to a duel…you won’t stand a chance…” said Venus.

“We shall see about that,” said Hametsujin as a black Duel Disk with blood red outlines was formed around his arm.

Grains of light also gathered around Venus’ arm & it formed into a platinum Duel Disk with the Tao symbol engraved onto it.

“Normally, a man should give way to a lady. But seeing as I’m not a man & you ain’t much of a lady, I will go first,” said Hametsujin as he drew, “I play Spell Card Future Fusion!”

The card image then appeared on the field, showing a grand portal of light high above a skyscraper.

“By sending Fusion Material Monsters from my deck to grave, I can summon their fused form in 2 turns’ time,” said Hametsujin as he took out his deck, “and I put in all the Machines in my deck into the mix, a total of 18.”

“But what could you possibly get out of fusing that many…no way…” said Venus.

“Yes way…I plan to summon Chimeratech Overdragon!” said Hametsujin as he laughed hysterically, “but why wait for 2 turns…when I can play this card…Overload Fusion!!! By removing every last one of those 18 Machines from play, we don’t need to wait any longer. Let’s put our hands together for…the Great Beast of Destruction, the Dreaded Omen of Armageddon, the almighty & unstoppable Chimeratech Overdragon!!!!!!” (?/?)

The apparitions of those monsters appeared for a while as they all vanished into light. Then, the ground shook violently & several buildings fell apart as the dreaded Machine Chimera rose from the debris & screeched loudly with all its 18 heads.

 

Meanwhile, in the Real World, Clair was fighting the Chimeratech Overdragon with her Astral Plane Dragon & Thought Ruler Archfiend. Clair’s 2 monsters both had unleashed their attacks on the titanic beast while Clair & her allies stood nearby.

“My monsters…they can’t hold on forever!” said Clair as she struggled to maintain their form.

Suddenly, more hatches were formed & other heads grew out, leading a 18 heads. The newly-generated heads then blasted Clair’s 2 monsters to the ground. As Astral Plane Dragon & Thought Ruler Archfiend laid tired on the ground, Chimeratech paid them no attention & simply resumed its destruction spree.

“How on earth did it grow some more heads?” wondered Charles.

“I don’t know, but we should catch up with it!” said Norman as he started his car’s engines, “everyone, hop on!”

As such, they drove in the car with Clair’s monsters flying behind them.

 

“Why did you use that card?” asked Venus.

“I’m technically using a replica of Marco’s deck, so no doubt about that card popping up…although this deck still has some cards not found in Marco’s deck,” said Hametsujin, “besides, I learnt of its power over time & I envy it. The infinite power of destruction…that’s something my kind has been searching for ages…and I had finally stumbled upon it!”

“When Grand Master sealed you in that card, he thought you would stay down…but it seems it was wrong,” said Venus, “Once I’m through with you, I will destroy you…for good!”

“Anyway…when he is Fusion Summoned, all the other cards on my side of the field are swept away by the sheer power of my monster,” said Hametsujin as Future Fusion was instantly destroyed, “and his attack score is the number of monsters involved in its fusion times 800…with 18 monsters fused, his attack score is…14400!” (?/?~14400/14400)

“No matter how strong your creature is, I shall still take it down!” cried Venus.

“I admire your boldness, but that is useless in front of my Overdragon,” said Hametsujin, “Since it’s only my first turn, I cannot attack you, so I end my turn.”

“I draw!” said Venus, “and I summon Cyber Knight-Hor in Defense Mode.” (300/1700)

As such, an Asian woman wearing snow-white tights appeared & stood on 1 of her legs & crossed her arms in defense.

“And I place a face-down card to top things off,” said Venus, “I end my turn.”

“Ha! Such foolish tactics would never work on my almighty monstrosity. I draw for my turn’s arrival,” said Hametsujin, “And I play the Spell Card called Aftereffect of Impact. When my Machine Monster attacks & destroys a monster in Defense Mode, the difference will be dealt as Battle Damage to your Life Points. So now…Chimeratech, attack that Cyber Knight with Strident Blaze Overdrive!”

Chimeratech Overdragon fired its attack from 1 of its heads towards Hor, but she suddenly jumped up into the air & landed towards her left, effectively dodging the attack.

“Hor is a practitioner of the Crane Style, a delicate art of martial arts based on flexibility & balance towards opposition. Thus, she can dodge 1 of his opponent’s attacks though her usage of the Crane Style,” explained Venus.

“But that effect will be put in vain…because Overdragon has an even deadlier ability, it can attack for a number of times equal to the number of monsters used in its Fusion Summon…in other words, it can attack 18 times!” explained Hametsujin, “and now, Strident Blaze Overdrive!”

Once again, Chimeratech Overdragon unleashed its multiple blasts at Hor. But, Hor didn’t move away from the attack & was obliterated by it instantly.

“I play Defense Draw to negate the Damage taken & a card to boot,” said Venus as she drew a card.

“Curse you!” cried Hametsujin, "I play both Purity of the Cemetery & Dark Room of Nightmares. End turn!”

“I begin my turn,” declared Venus when she was shocked by energy coming out from Purity of the Cemetery.

“Purity of the Cemetery deals you 100 points of damage during your Standby Phase for every monster is found in your Graveyard. Where else, Dark Room of Nightmares supplements that with 300 more,” explained Hametsujin.

“You’re a tricky one,” remarked Venus, “I play Tribute to the Doomed to destroy your Overdragon by discarding my Reinforcements of the Army.”

Venus discarded the card & the card appeared to fire off an energy blast. However, when it reached Chimeratech Overdragon, it was simply deflected.

“What! But how!” exclaimed Venus.

“With this!” responded Hametsujin as he pointed at the recently-activated card, “Rare Metalmorph can negate 1 Spell Card that’s aimed at my Machine & it also gives him 500 more points as well.” (14400/14400~14900/14400)

“I summon another Cyber Knight, the Knight of Ku & he shall be in Defense Mode,” (1600/1400) said Venus as an Asian man in a traditional qipao appeared & crossed his arms in defense, “I add 1 more face-down card & end my turn.”

“And you even dared say that I won’t stand a chance, but who’s winning now?” mocked Hametsujin, “I draw! I play Pot of Greed for the greatest gift ever, 2 new cards!”

Hametsujin then drew 2 cards from his deck & laughed loudly at what he just drew.

“I play this…Enemy Controller to change your Cyber Knight’s position to Attack Mode. Up-A-Down-B-B-C-START!” commanded Hametsujin as a giant remote controller appeared & the buttons automatically punched themselves. Ku then stood upright & took a combative stance, showing his 2 fists.

“With your monster all ready to face me as it prepares to die, Chimeratech, attack her now with Strident Blaze Overdrive!” yelled Hametsujin.

“Not quite…” said Venus slyly as her face-down card slowly opened.

Chimeratech Overdragon fired its multiple blasts towards Ku, but an aura glowed around Ku. That aura deflected the attack right back at Chimeratech Overdragon itself & it exploded by its own attack. Purity of the Cemetery also shattered along with Chimeratech.

“Impossible!” said Hametsujin, “my Ultimate Beast of Doom…gone…just like that…”

“Possible actually…with the Trap Card called Sakuretsu Armor,” said Venus, “when you tried to attack, my Armor took out your monster as easy as that.”

“That may be so…but I have a back-up plan,” said Hametsujin, “I play Burial from a Different Dimension, which allows me to return Chimeratech Overdragon back to my deck.”

The Chimeratech Overdragon card slid out of the Graveyard & Hametsujin slid it inside a compartment of his Duel Disk that stored the Extra Deck. Venus also noticed the other monsters there, Cyber End Dragon.

“He’s there…” thought Venus as she looked at a card in her hand.

“I play Parallel World Fusion!” proclaimed Hametsujin, “If all the Fusion Material Monsters of a Fusion Monster are removed from play, I can use those monsters as Fusion Materials to Fusion Summon the said Fusion Monster. With those 18 Machines, I summon this again…the Chimeratech Overdragon!!!”

The ground cracked apart as Chimeratech Overdragon made another literally speaking ground-breaking entrance for itself. (?/?~14400/14400)

 

Meanwhile, in the Real World, both Astral Plane Dragon & Thought Ruler Archfiend were once again launching their attacks from a distance. A few heads were countering their moves as the rest were devoted towards random destruction. 1 of the heads’ attacks was fired towards Clair & her company. Clair took quick notice of it & acted fast.

“Go, Negate Attack!” cried Clair as an energy shield was formed around them to shelter them from the blast.

“Phew, that was rather close,” remarked Charles.

Suddenly, a barrage a golden shards shot was shot into the body of Chimeratech. Clair & company looked up & saw Fuyuki with his Golden Homunculus.

“Fuyuki, I thought you would come,” said Clair.

“Yah, but that thing seems unstoppable…we need a new plan to destroy it,” said Fuyuki.

“Pay heed to an old man’s words,” said an elderly voice.

Everyone turned around & saw a man covered fully in a brown cloak. In fact, he was also wearing gloves & boots of that same colour. The only features that could be seen was that he had a long white beard.

“Who are you, gramps?” asked Norman.

“My identity is of no concern to you, but my words are of upmost importance,” said the old man as he cleared his voice & his eyes glowed.

“What was that about?” wondered Norman, but the old man had suddenly disappeared.

“Maybe he’s only a mirage,” claimed Fuyuki.

“In a city…preposterous!” rebuked Charles, “though I can’t help feeling there’s about that riddle…”

“The Terror of Cyber…that could refer to Cimeratech Overdragon! A dark god…that I don’t really know, but fair maiden…that could be Venus since she did say that she knew what was going on,” explained Clair, “We need to return to the Hospital now. Astral Plane & Thought Ruler, return to your lady’s call!”

Almost immediately, both monsters had returned to be at the sides of her master.

“C’mon, guys, hop onto them!” said Clair.

Soon, Clair & Fuyuki rode on Astral Plane Dragon while Norman & Charles rode on Thought Ruler Archfiend. Everyone seemed to be taking the flight quite well, except for Norman, who kept vomiting throughout the flight on Thought Ruler Archfiend that didn’t like the treatment.

“Sorry there…but I have a…confession…this is my…first time…airborne…” said Norman as he vomited again.

“Rarww…” grumbled Thought Ruler Archfiend in disgust of Norman’s actions.

“Sorry about my colleague’s actions, let me clean you up,” apologised Charles as he took out a handkerchief to wipe off the stain on the Psychic Archfiend, “and Norman, this is also the first time for the 2 kids over there too. How pointless is your shame when…”

Suddenly, Norman’s car that was left behind at the scene of destruction suddenly exploded.

“Boy, I was sure glad to have left on time,” remarked Fuyuki as he pointed at the burning remains of the car, “or else, we could have been like those car parts there.”

“No!!! My baby! It’s gone forever!!!” yelled Norman before he was silenced by his vomiting again, “and I haven’t got insurance for it yet!”

“You can always let a rich benefactor to help you in the payment department,” said Charles, referring to himself.

“My monsters, let’s head back to the Hospital. I will guide both of you with my powers!” said Clair.

 

Meanwhile, inside the subconscious of Marco’s mind, Venus was up against the strange entity called Hametsujin.

“I’m seriously starting to get annoyed by that monster,” said Venus.

“But I admire it so much for it’s the power that us demons had been searching all of Hell, Heaven & the mortal dimensions for,” said Hametsujin, “but think again if you think I will be letting you off that easily. I play Sonic Roar to give you damage equal to half of my monster’s Attack Score.”

“But half of 14400 is…” exclaimed Venus as she was blasted by the attack.

“What! I still have 1 Life Point left!” exclaimed Venus.

“Sadly, Sonic Roar cannot balst one’s Life Points to 0. So be grateful, during my next turn is where you suffer,” said Hametsujin, “I equip him with Destruction Insurance. When Chimeratech is destroyed under any circumstances, you will take damage equal to half of its original attack. 14400 is considered as his original attack score, so you will take…”

“7200 points of damage…” continued Venus.

“Glad you know that. I place 1 more face-down card as you step up with your last turn,” said Hametsujin.

“And with my face-down being Final Attack Orders…she is bound to lose for sure…and I shall make my coneback at last!” thought Hametsujin.

“It all depends on it now, my last draw…my Destiny Draw…” thought Venus as she drew. Clair’s eyes also glowed suddenly at that moment.

“I play Tribute Draw to draw 2 cards by Releasing 1 monster I control” said Venus as Ku vanished & Venus herself drew 2 cards, Double Spell & Battle Fusion.

“You will need all the cards you can get when you are dealing with my Overdragon!” said Hametsujin.

“As you wish, I play this, Fusion Soul Mirror!” said Venus as a card showing a Chinese-styled mirror with the shadows of 3 dragons in the reflection, “This card can only be played when Ihave no monsters under my control. I can select a monster in your Extra Deck & summon it if all its Fusion Materials are removed from play. Therefore, with 3 Cyber Dragons removed from the game, I summon him…The Cyber End Dragon!!!” (4000/2800)

The silhouettes of the 3 Cyber Dragons appeared in front of Venus as each of them was absorbed into the mirror. Then, the mirror unleashed a blinding light that formed into the almighty monster famous throughout the Cyber Style…the Cyber End Dragon.

“So what…your monster’s still stronger & even if you manage to make strong enough to beat Chimeratech, you will only hurt yourself in the end,” said Hametsujin.

“That’s why I won’t be attacking. I use Double Spell & discard my Battle Fusion for your Sonic Roar,” said Venus as she discarded the card & Sonic Roar appeared in her hand, “and I will use it. Go, Cyber End Dragon, blast that imposter away!”

Cyber End Dragon roared as it shot out a blast from all 3 of its mouths at Hametsujin.

“That was futile!” proclaimed Hametsujin, “On my next turn, I will attack Cyber End Dragon & prove to him once & for all who’s the True Master of Cyber Style!!!”

“You’re quite dumb, Hametsujin. I was never aiming at you,” said Venus, “I was focusing more on boosting your host’s morale instead.”

“WHAT!!!” exclaimed Hametsujin.

“I figure that you had suppressed Marco’s conscious somewhere, so I decided to give him a little show to improve his morale. By taking out half of your Life Points at 1 go like that was already more than enough,” said Venus as her eyes glowed, “as such, Hametsujin, in the name of the esteemed Cyber Style, I expel you from this vessels, Marco De’Lai & Chimeratech Overdragon!”

Hametsujin groaned as it reverted to its true form, becoming a dark blue draconic creature. It drove into a frenzy & attacked Venus. However, its assault was blocked out by a Cyber Knight monster. This one was aged in appearance & wore long robes with a spear as its weapon. Hametsujin cried 1 last desperate cry as it dissolved into grains of light…

 

“Venus!” cried a voice.

Venus suddenly regained consciousness as Clair & Fuyuki were around her. Norman & Charles were supporting the still-unconscious Dr Teong. Just then, Marco woke up & saw Venus.

“Venus, are you ok?” asked Marco hastily.

“Hey, Marco, is that your woman?” asked Fuyuki, “She’s quite hot.”

“No & don’t you dare have any designs on her or our friendship is over!” snapped Marco.

“You 2 can settle scores later, but now, we need answers, Venus. The crisis is over, so tell us,” said Clair.

“Very well, this is a long story& I don’t know where to even begin, but I will try. It all began many years ago with my Grand Master, Syrus Truesdale…” said Venus.

 

Kyoto, many years ago…

It was in the quiet villages in Kyoto that were still engaged in simple lifestyles of Feudal Japan. Such lifestyles had remained unchanged under the various shoguns’ rule, the rule of Meiji, the American Occupation, the founding of the Diet or the reinstatement of mortalised divinity. However, the local villagers ran in fear as a duel took place there. The current master of the Cyber Style, Syrus Truesdale, was up against the powerful demon called Hametsujin, the Spirit of Destruction.

Hametsujin had a powerful creature called Id, the Super Demonic Lord with him in Attack Mode, along with 1 face-down card & the Equip Spell Card called Rebirth Ribbon, (2200/800) while Syrus only had a face-down card & a Jetroid in Attack Mode. (1200/1800)

“I am aware of your Jetroid’s ability, so I activate this Trap-Gestalt Drop!” said Hametsujin as an iron collar was cuffed around Jetroid, “This card shall render Jetroid’s effect null & its attack as 0.” (1200/1800~0/1800)

“Now I attack your monster with Id the Super Demonic Lord! Go, Violent Egoism!!!” yelled Hametsujin as Id slashed Jetroid with its claw.

“Master Syrus! Are you ok?” asked 1 of his Cyber Style disciples, who was watching the duel.

“I’m alright,” reassured Syrus, “that’s all, demon!”

“Yes,” said Hametsujin, “after I win this duel, I shall extract all your Duel Energy & become invincible.”

“In your dreams! My turn & I draw!” yelled Syrus, “I play Mine Blast to send the top 5 cards of my deck to the grave.”

Syrus discarded the top 5 cards of his deck. (Cyberdark Keel, Tyrant Dragon, Cyber Valley, Steamroid, Cyber Dragon)

this powerful Spell Card, Cyberdark Impact! By returning the 3 Cyberdark Monsters that are either on my side of the field, in my hand or grave back to my deck, I can Special Summon…their combined form, the Cyberdark Dragon!”

Syrus shuffled the 3 monsters into his deck & the skinny mechanical dragon made out of black metal appeared & screeched. (1000/1000)

“When summoned, I can attach a dragon monster to him & I select the Tyrant Dragon!” said Syrus as Tyrant Dragon suddenly appeared & was grabbed by Cyberdark Dragon with several wires plugged into it. (1000/1000~3900/1000)

“It may be strong enough to take down Id, but Rebirth Ribbon’s effect can revive him during the End Phase,” said Hametsujin.

“For every Mojnster in my graveyard, Cyberdark Dragon gains another 100 points,” said Syrus, (3900/1000~4300/1000) “battle. Destroy Id with Dark Cyber Stream!”

Cyberdark Dragon unleashed a blast of pure darkness at Id to destroy it.

Syrus was victorious, but Hametsujin was not about to give up yet. It quickly attempted to ambush Syrus from behind, but thanks to a warning from a disciple, he narrowly dodged it. Landing safely, he stared at the demon.

“I seal you within the card of Chimeratech Overdragon!” declared Syrus as Hametsujin slowly dissolved into dust that went inside the card.

 

“Yes…Syrus had once sealed the demon Hametsujin within Chimeratech Overdragon,” said Venus.

“Finally…something that I bet Juan doesn’t know of,” remarked Norman.

“But there’s more…ever since then, Grand Master Syrus had sealed away that card,” said Venus, “although, it was later established by the High Council 4 years ago that it must be used again. I was assigned to find the one who could handle Chimeratech Overdragon itself. I wandered across the world & finally found him, Marco.”

“That’s why you taught me how to duel,” realised Marco.

“Yes, I was nearly certain of it. But, when you had first used Chimeratech Overdragon, everything went wrong…” said Venus.

 

“I play Overload Fusion to summon Chimeratech Overdragon!” cried the young Marco as Chimeratech Overdragon appeared with 3 heads sprouting out, (?/?~2400/2400) “now I…SHALL DESTROY EVERYTHING!!”

“What!” exclaimed Venus, shocked at what happened?

 

“That was the first instance where Marco lost control over Chimeratech,” said Venus, “that still haunts me as part of my shame.”

“But then, how did you solve it?” asked Clair.

“The manifestation was much weaker that time, so I…eh…gave him a kiss right on the lips,” Venus embarrassingly said, “and I think your brother must have seen that. Sorry for all that chaos.”

“Oh my God! I had my first kiss by a girl other than Mum all those years ago…” said Marco, “if I had known that, I won’t be cleaning myself so much!”

“Well, at least now Chimeratech Overdragon is safe to use now,” said Venus, “I think I had completely dispelled Hametsujin from it.”

“Yah…but I think I won’t use that until I’m ready for it,” said Marco.

“A true Cyber Duelist will know when he is ready to use his Ace Card when the deck responds,” advised Venus.

“And in other news, both you & Venus are go enough to go & join us for a great crusade,” said Norman, “in fact, hat duel earlier was just a test. We never intended for something so serious. I think that the Chimeratech Overdragon should have ben long-gone by now.”

“It’s ok, no one got any serious hurting in the end,” said Marco, “but must they be that secretive?”

“They have to be…in order to replicate the conditions that the enemy could possibly utilize,” said Charles.

“Say, Venus, what is your Psychic ability?” asked Clair.

“It’s one that allows me to travel within one’s heart & soul,” said Venus, “but are you 2 also Psychics too?”

“Yup!” responded both of them.

Just then, a nurse had walked up to the group there.

“Ms Lucia, we had received this letter from Industrial Illusions this morning, but you were being relocated…but since you’re here, let me hand you the letter,” said the nurse as she gave the letter.

 

[align=justify]Venus Lucia, you have been invited to the Duel Monsters Special Cup sponsored by Industrial Illusions Company. It shall be held in Oregeorgia Stadium in 1 week’s time. This is a simple tournament against 7 other chosen people. We wish that you would participate in the tournament.

“Maybe we would be competing soon…” said Venus as she smiled back.

“Anyway, nurse, Dr Teong needs some medical treatment,” said Norman.

“Right away! Please follow me with Mr Teong in tow,” said the nurse as she left with Norman & Charles.

 

Meanwhile, in the sky fortress of the Overmind, the Overmind & his 2 Knights were looking inside a glass cylindrical prison where what that seems like Hametsujin was kept inside.

“As more & more of the pieces assemble, destruction of the flawed world shall soon commence & the Final Rebirth shall follow up,” said the Overmind, “see to it that my will is implemented upon all!”

“Yes, Your Majesty!” replied his 2 Knights as they knelt before him.

Venus: The Card of the Day has been the same monster that has been rampaging the city since Ch 31, the Chimeratech Overdragon. To Summon him, you need 2 or Machine Monsters, at least 1 of them being a Cyber Dragon. Its Attack & Defense values become the number of Fusion Materials times 800 & it can attack monsters for a number of times equal to the number of Fusion Materials. Grand Master had once sealed away the demon, Hametsujin, into this card & I had been searching for the one who can handle its power…Marco.
