Kizzi
Why the hell did you add those gradient maps? It looked best at Step 4.
Enigma Zero
Disclaimer:As has been stated in previous posts by myself when it comes to sprites and artwork, I do not belong to the "effect, Effect, EFFECT, and EFFECT" way of creation. I know some people on this forum think less of my abilities because I tend to draw things out myself as opposed to relying on 50 downloads from other people. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with either style of artwork. I am simply saying that I work differently, which goes a decent ways toward explaining why I have certain opinions on certain things that others might not have. I guess I'm just set in my old ways...because they work for me. :D The tutorial itself is solid. My only complaint is that the background, from pretty much step 1, isn't the best color for the sprite. IMHO, the whole end result would be 100 times better if you.... 1. Start with either a deep purple or dark blue.2. Either recolor the effect sprites or(if lazy) greyscale them and apply them as either Darken, Hard Light, or Soft Light(preference issue) layers. 3. Skip the Clipping Mask and Gradient(as Kizzi said). Like all things in life, sometimes less really is more. ;)
Cyber Altair
not really.... besides people never do the whole tutorial but add and remove some steps and they should if they didn't.
