Quagmire_jr
srry if i offended any1, but I really have to no and yes. i no i spelt grammer rong. im just typing like this to attrac any1 this question is about isnt this suposed to b for fun? how come we need to have everything spelled perfect? (and for that matter, then why do people care about that, but not as much about if the card is worded like a real card?) School is out... so shouldnt we be able to not care about grammer and spelling.... Is it so wrong if we type card as crad or defense as defence? how come people freak out on me if i forget to hyphenate face-down and face-up? This is a forum, so isnt typing shorthand normal and making mistakes when u type not unusawl? WHAT IS UP WITH THIS? please respond. i really have to no. and again, im sorry if i offended any1. that was not the point. if i wanted to offnd people, there were a lot of thing i could have said... Shaco
It just makes it look more like the actual card, and professional. And it helps people understand the card better. Like there is a distinct difference between Sending a card, and Discarding a card, so the right terminology is important as well. And with more of a professional look, you get more respect from your fellow card makers. Also, it's easier to think of situations to use that specific card
Quagmire_jr
my point pretty much is that some people will freak out about grammer, but then not care if its phrased like a real card. if u dont want both, then why do u care about either??? that and its suposed to b for fun, not another school asignment where everything needs to be perfect or u fail (iv lost contests cuz of my grammer) and i agree that terminology is important, but thats different from grammer. im talking about epople who freak if it says "face down" instead of "face down" or "defence" instead of "defence" or people who care if we forget a space or capital
Tkill93
No1 cn understend U if u speek like a mor0n Some people are grammar nazis and pick at every little thing. Some people type like a moron. Some mistakes are okay, no ones perfect but atleast let your sentences be reasonable about it ;)

If you take Yugioh seriously then give it some respect, and make it properly!! Damn if I ever hold a contest then first rule I'm putting in is that it has to be worded correctly with spelling perfect! There's no excuse. Use your computer to do your spell checking. Read, and understand Yugioh terminology. Understand wording of cards. Download YVD, and refer to the cards listed to better understand how some cards effects are written out. It is a different language so you have to follow how it is set out. If you got the nerve to come, and complain about people disliking your cards because of poor grammar then YOU do something about it, and fix your cards. Don't tell someone that they shouldn't be telling you not to care about your grammar, and wording when they are in the right! If you are too lazy to use correctness then you deserve what you get. Don't be a punk, and wise up. You seem to be taking yugioh a little too seriously.

SushiTheLegend
Not really...would you play yugioh IRL, if you couldn't even understand a word of what the card was saying, it stands to reason and I honestly don't know how any of you can even shorten words, I mean I have done it myself, but I almost always write FULLY, it is how I have always written things. I just can't see why you can't NOT BE LAZY and write the full words, what is so hard about that?
Tkill93
I think were on different pages. The grammar he's using , you shouldn't use that on a cardBut you make a god damn mistake or 2 and forgot to overlook its no big deal. And it doesn't matter how old your sister is, nor is it relevant. If i make a card and have 1 or 2 mistakes you have no right to say any of that. And who cares what someone writes in there card ITS FOR FUN. Respect for the game, its cards nothing big there. And hey if i want to make a card with mistakes its my problem. Sick of what? People spelling how ever they want? Blasphemy! But yes you can draw the line and tell someone of there errors but someone does something bad and if you say " LEARN TO SPELL OR GTFO!" thats not right. Yes, people should spell correctly but people should be polite about telling em about it aswell Phew. :P
SushiTheLegend
When it comes to realistic cards and it's what we are actually refering to. Then yes it is a big deal, especially when you have some guy posting in there with NORMAL MONSTERS with 4000 attack, I mean seriously. On other cards fair enough and yes the small mistakes are fine, but what about huge mistakes and shortened words, I mean wtf dude.
Tkill93
Well some shortend words should aslo be okay. But yeah speaking in 1337 and crap is shouldnt be done, but people shouldnt get carried away and flame them
SushiTheLegend
We can't help it if we prefer people who actually speak correct english. Tkill93
Yes, but no matter what forum your on not everyone will use perfect grammar. We have to accept it. SushiTheLegend
That might be true, but as far as I'm concerned, you all need to get off your lazy arses and stop being lazy about your grammar. I hate grammar, but I at least spell words properly.

Tkill93
Quote I don't have to accept it. When is accepting something wrong the right thing. I can deal with it though. Hell If you've even read anything I've said and had the IQ higher than a 10 year old ( You seem to like bringing up intelligence ) You'd understand what I'm saying. Hell, he has a right to complain to a degree. If people are going around "GTFO RESPECT YUGIOH! ITS NOT FUN ITS A RELIGION! " Thats not right! What i said was horrbible grammar is bad but you have to deal with it politely. You have no right to flame someone due to the way the spell There will always be people who dont use proper grammar, flaming them wont solve anything. And flaming them would make you even worse.
