Shadow Archangel
I was going to put this in the same thread as the last one, but I discovered it had been locked. You guys are efficient! Anyway, I adapted this effect from "Spirit Ryu", and I wasn't 100% on it. Could somebody please let me know if it needs any changes or not? I'll even pass on some rep once I get the posts required (and I promise I won't forget :P). You can only activate this effect once per turn, during your Battle Step, if this card battles during your turn. You can increase the ATK of this card by 300 points until the End Step. If you do, skip your next Draw Phase. Link to comment
Larxene
You can only activate this effect once per turn, during your Battle Phase. If this card declares an attack during your turn, you may increase the ATK of this card by 300 until your End Phase. If you activate this effect, skip your next Draw Phase. i think thats correct Link to comment
SushiTheLegend
Problem, your monster CAN'T attack in anyone else's turn except your own, except if a Spell or Trap card is used by your opponent. Also...I must state this... It is CAN not MAY, ^^ Link to comment
Shadow Archangel
Ok, I don't want to be a jerk here, but I know that just because of what I'm going to say, it's going to sound like I'm being one, so I'm really, really sorry in advance. That's not how I want to come across... I took the first section "during your Battle Step, if this card battles during your turn." (notice the comma) directly from "Spirit Ryu", and I know that it's an old card, and that OCG has changed slightly, but what it says, and what you've written have two entirely different meanings:-- Battle Step vs. Battle Phase... this prevents you from activiating the effect in the damage step in response to a card like "Blast with Chain", etc. so it's kinda important.-- If this card battles this turn was originally a condition of activating the effect, how you've written it makes it only a condition of the effect working, after you've paid the price of giving up your next draw phase. Secondly... I'm not sure I've ever seen the word "may" on a card... I thought it was always "can". Are you sure about that part? Now, I know you're thinking, "He's asked this question, and then thrown my answer back in my face!", but believe me... the wording that I was looking for, you've given me... I was mostly unsure about how I'd put the final sentence. ... Yeah, now you see... that post just made me out to be a complete ... what's another word for jerk that I can use without looking more like a jerk?Anyway, I'm sorry again... I'm really a nice guy (most of the time), and I really did try to sound grateful, because I wasn't trying to be all 'I'm looking down my nose at you and your answer' kind of thing, and If this was a face to face conversation, you'd have seen that. It's just I couldn't convey the right tone, while using the right words... EDIT: And in the time it took to write that post, I was 10 minutes later than Haruno, who snuck in...That bit about attacking during YOUR turn also isn't relevant if you use the original sentence structure from "Spirit Ryu" for the first part... SushiTheLegend
Yes but as Browarod AKA The God of OCG stated, a monster can't attack in anyone's turn except yours, so that effect is completely pointless. Also I'm pretty sure the OCG did use to be "May" but I could be wrong. Also there is no such thing as a "Battle Step", the only type of step is "Damage Step". Link to comment
Shadow Archangel
No, I'm sorry, but that's wrong. The official rulebook clearly defines 4 'steps' of the battle phase, and always has done: the start step, the battle step, the damage step, and the end step. Also, I think that the "during your turn" is a way of stoping people from saying "but Spirit Ryu attacked last turn, so it should still work" kind of thing... just a way of differentiating 'this turn' (which would have been better wording) from 'any turn'. SushiTheLegend
Whatever, I just know of the Damage Step since no cards these days focus on anything else, because everyone sees Battle Phase as the attacking stage, and you are wrong about the "During Your Turn" because "This Turn" could refer to both your turn and your opponent's turn, so yeah. Also if that is the case, then why are you asking for OCG help when your OCG is obviously correct since ours are apparently "wrong". Link to comment
Junk Raver
Yes but as Browarod AKA The God of OCG stated' date=' a monster can't attack in anyone's turn except yours, so that effect is completely pointless. It has been said by many and all I AM THE GOD OF OCG, you should know that. Its 'can', not 'may'. Now Once per turn, during your Battle Phase, you can increase the ATK of this card by 300 until the End Phase. If you do, skip your next Draw Phase. And that, is that. Link to comment
