URBAN LEGENDS

I will post Urban Legends each week and you have to guess, in the Poll up above, which of these actually happened.

I will give you the origins and you can base your guess on it if you want.

I have one thing to ask: Please, if you do know the answer, not to reveal it. Please keep it to yourself.

One of the three legends is right, however, the other two are false. After you read each one's origins, you may take your pick and vote on which one is true. Have fun reading!

The first ones will now be posted.

1: Diet Riot

Diet Coke and/or Pepsi contain more calories than stated, but their manufacturers get away with the deception by paying a yearly fine.

How long this particular belief has been going around is anyone's guess, but there are sightings of it dating back up to 1990. There are claims of Diet Coke, Pepsi or Pepsi One (Which state 0 calories) actually containing 25, 50, 70 or even 90 calories, in each case the parent company's paying an annual fine to continue falsely listing the beverage's Calorie Content.

Common sense should also serve to rule out what the whispers say about an annual payoff. For health reasons, many potential customers of Diet Drinks have to carefully monitor what they ingest. For instance, the lovers of the Coke Products would see glucose levels spiraling out of control! Imagine the lawsuits resulting from that!

Besides, even if the companies say there are no calories, what about the Artificial Sweeteners or Colouring inside the drink? Don't they add any calories to the mixture?

2: Ohio Slayers

The Ohio Players' recording of the sing "Love Rollercoaster" includes the scream of a murdered woman.

It's a metaphor: Love is a rollercoaster ride. Both involve their fair share of screaming, so when the Ohio Players recorded their 1975 hit "Love Rollercoaster", they naturally incorporated the scream into the Track. In the 1970s you couldn't just do something like that because it simply made sense, though, so it wasn't long before improbable stories about the origin of the scream began to circulate by word of mouth, aided by an army of Disk Jockeys eager to pass along a juicy anecdote.

The most outrageous rumour associated with this would be the one about the girl modeling the Album on the cover of the the 1970s album called "Honey". According to the legend, the girl was horribly burned due to the Fiberglas which she was covered in during the photo shoot. What most people have heard is that she stepped into the recording studio in anger and threatened to sue the Band for all it was worth. The Band Manager pushed her out of the studio and started stabbing her repeatedly. She let out a big shriek that is now what can be heard on the final product.

The scream in question does seem a little bit out of place, due to being a feminine voice among a group of Male Signers, and it does sound a lot like the cry of a woman in terror. It's not hard at all to imagine how easily people receptive to rumour could be convinced that this particular sound did not belong on the Track, but had inadvertently slipped in.

3: Date Tape

Couple accidentally returns erotic tape of themselves to the Video Store

In late 1986 in the small town of Council Grove, Kansas, Corky Woodward rented a camera and a videocassette player from the only Video Rental Store in town. Woodward, the sheriff of Morris County, then made a 90-minute erotic tape of himself and his wife Dannette, but inadvertently left the tape in the VCR when he returned it to the store. The next person to rent the video player got the tape as well, and soon, hundreds of copies of that video were circulating all around town.

Big embarrassment for the both of them! There are different variations of this Legend seen in movies as well such as a School Teacher showing a video of himself masturbating and mistaking it as an Educational Film. It was also said that some of these cases have also occured all over Canada and all over the USA.

You decide...

Now that you have read about these legends, you may now vote for which one of them is real. Hope you had a good one![/align]
