If you do decide to make one of your own, I’ve had the idea for a summoning mechanic. I call them curse cards, I haven’t had a good idea for a monster yet but the idea is that you can activate a curse spell card once per turn and that curse will give you a restriction for the rest of the duel. An example would be preventing yourself from banishing cards, or preventing yourself from activating monster effects in the hand. Then you can special summon a curse monster from the extra deck that would need you to have a number of curses equal to its curse rating. The thematic idea would be if you want power you have to give up some of your ability to play the game.
