But First He Lit It On Fire
_Floowandereeze & Simorgh_ (WIND) ️️️️️️️ Winged Beast / Effect _Cannot be Special Summoned. If this face-up card would leave the field, banish it instead. You can only control 1 “Floowandereeze & Simorgh”. If this card is Summoned, or if your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card or effect or Special Summons a monster(s): You can either Inflict 1000 Damage to your opponent OR draw 1 card. Once per turn, you can take 1 “Floowandereeze” or “Simorgh” card, or 1 monster that cannot be Special Summoned, from your field, GY or Banishment; Either add it to your hand OR Shuffle it into your Deck. If a Winged Beast monster is Normal Summoned to your field while this card is banished: You can add this card to your hand._ ATK/2900 DEF/2000 Basically the idea was, since Simorgh and Floo are each Normal Summon focused WIND Winged Beast archetypes by themselves, it would be thematically and practically appropriate to make a card of both archetypes melded together. It has a suite of effects from both archetypes monsters, while also having a new effect of letting you recycle one monster that can’t be Special Summoned from your field, GY or Banishment (alongside either its archetypes cards) into either your hand or Deck… And according to Yugipedia, there would be a solid 112 different “Cannot be Special Summoned” monsters that would be viable targets for this effect, so this card could suddenly take one of the harshest restrictions a monster can have and turn it into an advantage. Edit: I was hoping the inability to Special Summon this card AND only being able to control the one instance of it would be enough to help me avoid having to put HOPT’s on it, but since that’s NOT the case… _Cannot be Special Summoned. If this face-up card would leave the field, banish it instead. If this card is Summoned, you can take 1 “Floowandereeze” or “Simorgh” card, or 1 monster that cannot be Special Summoned, from your field, GY or Banishment; Either add it to your hand or Shuffle it into your Deck. If your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card or effect or Special Summons a monster(s): Either Inflict 1000 Damage to them, or draw 1 card. You can use each of these effects of “Floowandereeze & Simorgh” once per turn. If a Winged Beast monster is Normal Summoned to your field while this card is banished: You can add this card to your hand._ THERE, I tied the recycle effect to its summon, and separated the summon from the possible triggers for the draw or burn damage, and I made these 2 effects a hard OPT. To help mitigate the loss in power (and to save on text space), the “can only control 1” bit has been undone. LazerSwordKirbo
This card is absolutely broken. While its on field it acts as a maxx c that also triggers on spell/trap cards or it can be equivalent to 2 Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragons that triggers on summoning instead. This would be played in every non-ftk burn strategy in existence.
But First He Lit It On Fire
THERE, I made some edits that should rein it in a smidge. I was hoping in the OG that the inability to Special Summon the card AND only being able to control 1 of it at any given moment would be enough to reign it in without having to resort to a hard OPT.
LazerSwordKirbo
If you want it to be activatable multiple times per turn you could make the number of times the effect can activate each turn equal to the number of Winged-Beast monsters you control. But First He Lit It On Fire
I like that, but how would I word that as an effect properly?
LazerSwordKirbo
Just put a "This effect can only be activated a number of times per turn equal to the number of Winged-Beast monsters you control." tag as the sentence immediately following the effect instead of a once per turn that restricts all of the cards effects or a once per turn that is built into it. Although NOW I have to figure out a Spell/Trap interaction to keep in character with the “Simorgh” of this thing (The Floo half is plenty present in the banishment-related effects)
