I made laughing at pojo cool.

Recommended Posts

Don't deny it YCM' date=' if it weren't for me you would never laugh at pojo.

That's not "making laughing at Pojo cool."

That's "making laughing at Pojo when this place is no better" cool.

Even then, you only made it cool in the YCM sense; GameFAQs has been doing it ever since... well, ever.

I always laugh at Pojo's Card of the Day reviews. "WOW! WE NOW HAVE MORE MONARCH SUPPORT!" They also slate any card that isn't Meta Material. Come on.... They re-reviewed Harpies Feather Duster a while back. Why review a card that will NEVER be unbanned?

It's Konami.

Even us Japanese do not understand how they think.

Cool' date=' an actual OCGer instead of the pretenders at most places.

How's the gaming clime over there, brother?

[/quote']

Everyone netdecking the latest Frontier deck, Rescue cat synchros everywhere, the price of Summon Priest breaking the 4k yen barrier and now going into 5k... all the usual.

The only good thing that happened to me recently was getting a Card Gunner for 500 yen, and that was about it.

Sanctioned tournaments are pretty much filled with people who want to get their rating up to within the 150th place by the end of the week, so they can enter the nationals. The store near my dorm, which usually has peaceful tournaments (according to the 60 year old duelist who claims to have been coming to the store for 4 years now), is pretty much filled to the brim with either Synchro DAD and... well, Synchro DAD.

Sometimes the odd Lightlord, but still.

Heck, our Nationals are in 2 weeks time, and Konami hasn't even released any info yet on where it take place.

I want to go watch, but without any info what can a guy do?

BTW: i entered pojo... readed total nonsenses... but when i saw a guy saying that jinzo-returner decks are tier on the meta, i made a doulbe facepalm and asked myself why i did enter there... it was really sad...

Good to see that a new mechanic introduced by Konami... became competitive right at the get-go. I'm a good deal pressured to ask whether or not you have any info about Konami's own communication to the players.

I'm sure the OCGers ask Konami why it makes cards like DAD - however, I've always wondered whether or not the OCGers' opinion of Konami as a cardmaker is a low opinion or not.

Actually, Synchro decks were not so popular until a few weeks ago, even when TDGS was released, even though Cat synchro was hyped then.

It's just that a guy made a Cat/Priest synchro deck work really well with DAD, and has 60~70% of becoming an OTK, so everyone started netdecking it.

The general opinion of Konami, by looking at larger Japanese forums, is this:

"Konami does not playtest cards"

"But Konami is better than UDE when it comes down to card rarities"

"Konami needs to write card effects in Japanese... not Konaminese"

The last point refers to Konami not being certain about card effects, and rulings that seem to come out of thin air.

Strange rulings are called 超裁定 (super-rulings) and is usually the butt of the joke on 2ch and such.

what do u mean minus the n00bs ycm has great members

Key Phrase: Minus the Noobs. Ever since the GFAQers joined, the noobs are quickly refuted any time they say something stupid, thus making this a better environment. (As opposed to Pojo, where the shear number of idiots keeps the intelligent people from winning any argument.)

There are a lot of idiots on YCM. We're just better at controlling them.

I wanna see some of these Chousaitei! I would think that they operate just like what the TCGers call "KSS" - a case of "Konami ga sou itterukara, Because Konami Said So."

I don't see how it took so long to make Synchro DAD work. I'd think that some sort of combo between anything + the card noted to be responsible for a lot of a certain format's pain = the first thing folks would try...

In reference to Konami not playtesting: Doesn't Konami get any complaints sent to them about it? Trust me, this is one point of contention where the TCG is with you OCG boys ALL THE WAY!

To put it bluntly, one of the best duelists I'm acquainted with... came up with good reasoning to Prohibit Snipe Hunter, through a lengthy, well reasoned argument. To be honest, there was no way to successfully refute the argument; Snipe, therefore, does deserve the prohibition until the argument is refuted.

However, I digress. A friend of that duelist, another one of the best duelists I'm acquainted with... said that "Dark Armed Dragon should be a Fusion of Snipe Hunter and The Winged Dragon of Ra."

Considering that the forum that these players frequent... abhors most of the silly parts of gameplay (like the Sangenshin), for them to make a reference to it... means that they mean business about what they say.

In reference to Konami being better about rarities: Folks need to ask themselves about what's different between the OCG and TCG.

It is irrefutable that all internationally known evidence points to the TCG having a better Organized Play system, between the mass Regionals, Shonen Jump Championships, Pharaoh Tour Events, Sneak Previews, et cetera. The TCG might have to deal with bullshit changed names and images at times, but I'd take the TCG events over OCG events in an instant.

However, these events cost money, and admission cost to them is on a strict not-for-profit basis. Often, it's not even used to pay UDE's costs for the events.

UDE has to foot the bill somehow; rarity changes DO drive up demand of the pack as a whole, albeit artificially.

In reference to writing effects in Japanese v. Konaminese: Kindly clarify a bit further ~ mou ichidou, kudasai, pizzaman-san.

If you have a problem with Omega, you are mentally impaired in some sort of way, most likely in the way that forces you to care too much about internet matters.
