@JoC and ton, It is perfectly fair for the entry deck, if they can't play at all, then they don't belong here, there can be special exceptions, but wasn't the reason we started this was because we all played IRL? It's just like what I posted in response to a Pojoidiotroll on Gaia, he kept telling us to play on the interwebz, I kept posting this: The game is played IRL because it is more fun IRL, knowing you own the cards to win, instead of getting them on an interwebz program makes it that much more satisfactory. Sure you can pwn in golf on a video game, but when you pwn IRL, it feels awesome. That applies to Yugioh too. I just want to see if they are good IRL, can play IRL, and can build decks without netdecking IRL. I've played a netdecker, and he's good, he was netdecking GK Monarchs, too bad I was running Macro Monarchs, I got 15 points from that...

 

Also, I might have to go out of state for Regionals =( Damn this small state!

Pfft... Exams are going to be scheduled soon, you must use a webcam, and it will be over MSN or AIM. No DMU or any other program for draws. You may petition for an exception. Find a webcam, borrow one, it doesn't matter, if you are trustworthy enough you can go without a cam. But I am not that trusting. You must use an IRL deck and have proof you own it. No more than 10 proxies are allowed.

I just came back from my locals yesterday, here's what happened...

Round 1: Vs. beatdown

Won 2-0

The kid was terrible. Nothing much about it, his only good card was mobius. lol

Round 2: Vs. Gadgets

Lost 1-2

I didn't have anything to side against gadgets, and both my draws the time I lost were terrible. One was a hand of monsters and the other was a hand of spells.

Round 3: Vs. Macro Monarchs

Won 2-1

Should've won 2-0 but forgot to side RFTDD. Was a cookie cutter deck from the structure with a DMoC, that's about it.

Round 4: Vs. DAD

Won 2-1

I was shocked. I actually beat this guy, and he was what consider "pro". Lol he was an ault too, so he could just take his paycheck and buy anything he wanted. He had 3 DAD, disk commander, Darklord, Plasmas, and a CCV. First time I won he scooped because it wasn't turning out well and then the 2nd time, He had a bad hand, I dustshooted his disk commander, kept on keeping him scared because he though I had Creature Swaps (which I sided for shadow mirrors), and I had a crow in my hand, ready to remove his disk. He got it there, I used crow, he had a limit reverse (lol) and then he got out DAD... I raigeki breaked it and continued to beat him... with a Meane the Thorn (she did over 6000 damage to him that entire round XD) He got out plasma last, then when my turn rolled around I topdecked brain control, hit him for game. Funny thing is, I never drew a single shadow mirror.

Round 5: vs. Lightsworn

Another one of those netdecked LS made by a fat loser who lives with his mom and can buy whatever the hell he wanted. Lost 0-2.

I was able to hold him back for a while with creature swaps and whatever, but I set mind crush turn 1 and he just stormed it. Lost that, sided in light mirrors and crows. Wanna know what? I didn't draw any mirrors or any crows. They were all together at the bottom of my deck. OF course, I didn't place them in the deck together, I put them in different spots. Yet, fate screws me over and I didn't get my mirrors XD

 

In the end, I got 13th out of 28. Until I can afford gadgets, lightsworn, Six samurai or DAD, I won't place much higher.

 

Trades / pulls:

I got a crappy rare out of my CP06, but my brother got stratos.

Traded for a parallel rare royal decree, ultra premature burial, 3x hand destruction, jinzo, Arcana force XXI, and a SR CyDra...

 

Okay day, I suppose.

 

 

EDIT: As for the exams thing, I have no AIM or MSN and no webcam. I could use DMU, but we'd still have to petition for it.

I've played DMU, it is about as bad as YVD on draws. Someone gets sheet, someone gets the greatest possible hand in the world. Webcams aren't needed but are a big bonus.

Proof (Pics of every single card or a video)

If you have the cards you can text duel, it's that simple.

I lol'ed at this. You really think the program distinguishes between cards? It uses a pseudo-random number generator to come up with the order of your deck. In other words, those programs shuffle your deck much better than you could in real life, unless you stack.

 

Also, I'm not really understanding your justification for wanting everyone to own the real cards. If we're dueling online anyways (even if we're using a webcam), what difference does it make? (Other than us being able to use really expensive cards that your real-life deck can't afford to use? The solution to that is simple, modify your real life deck using proxies for online play.)

 

Lastly, my IRL decks are rather embarrassing. (Due to a variety of reasons including both my jobless state and my parent's resistance to me spending money on cardboard.) I just use Macro Monarchs and Batterymen.

The program is about as bad as YVD, it doesn't distinguish between cards but 9/10 times it's a problem.

 

Again, the original uniting force for JoC, ton, and I was that we all played IRL. The club went out of hand and I would like to get back on track. Online isn't fair to the people who actually try and play and get their cards. Sure I can build an insane $2000+ deck on the internet and pwn anything, or I can play IRL and get real satisfaction. I already have covered proxies.

Fair enough. I do agree that playing IRL is far more fun. Still, I'm not sure I agree with limiting the entrance to an IRL deck. Again, this is because you are limiting creativity with the boundaries of fiscal responsibility.

 

Whatever, it's fine. Your intent for this team is obviously far more grounded in IRL than I initially thought. I prefer playing with actual cards, but I am by no means competitive IRL. If I dropped out, would I still be welcome in this thread and any others to discuss theorycraft?

You are already accepted, therefore, as I stated to Exiro, you are free to discuss deck ideas/cards/anything related to the TCG.

 

Also, you are most likely the new leader (as of tommorow) so I have little more power over you. The rule is tentative and pending change, but posted to make sure we have the best of the best. An official revamping should take place tommorow after the elections end so we can draft together a real version.

 

The problem came to my attention when I realised that anyone can make a simple LS or DaD list with no problem and get in, this way we can filter out the scrubs. Although, an original idea might work.

I do agree that netdecking is a problem. That's why I suggested that we judge based on originality and ingenuity rather than actual deck power. Making people post IRL decks would solve this problem to a certain extent.
