THIS IS NOT THE EXAM, IT IS TO PREPARE YOU FOR THE EXAM.

 

I’m not sure what is on the Exam that SoulChildxxxx will be giving those who want to enter The Card Maker Club, but he did say it will be based on the qualities needed to join. So, until he returns from his prior engagement, here is an unofficial exam preparation quiz. Keep in mind, none of this may be on the test, it’s all guess work on my part.

 

criteria:

~Teamwork

~Honesty

~Creativity [cool card ideas]

~eye for detail, and picture choosing skills[frequently chooses suitable pictures for cards]

~basic art skills [achieving a good quality card which means editing, cropping etc]

~Grammar/punctuation [goes without saying]

That’s what he wrote in the Card Makers Club original post, so that’s what my review will be based on. Each Question is worth 2 marks with the exception of question 4. Good Luck

 

1) Create a monster card that is based on an ice cream flavor(Can be written). Try to include “Ultimate Flavor” in its card name.

 

2) Which of the following pictures works best with the card name “Malevolent Gift”. Why?

3) Why is the following card overpowered?

Bountiful Fusion

Normal Spell

Send from your deck to the Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters listed on a Fusion Monster in your Fusion Deck and Special Summon that Fusion Monster to the field (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon).

 

4) Can you edit an image using any editing program (Paint, Photoshop, etc.)?

 

5) Correct the wording on the following 2 cards:

a) “When this monster attacks, stop the fight, and bounce this card into your hnd. When a creature attacks, you can discard this card to the discard pile to reflect the atak back at the enemy. If you have three of these out of the game, you win!”

 

b) “This card will not be summoned, This card cannot be smnd except when, sacrificing all your monsters you have.”

 

6) Which of the following pictures would not belong in a set with the others, and why:

BONUS QUESTION: When the Card Makers Club starts up, who will be making the first card?

 

DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN THIS THREAD. WAIT UNTIL TEST DAY WHEN I POST THE ANSWER KEY.

 

Also, you can give your test answers to me via pm and when I release the results of the pre-exam, whoever scores the highest percentage will get a rep.

If you want, but the answers won't be given out until the day the exam is released. Hopefully SoulChild will get my pm and and tell me before sending it so I can provide all of you with the answers to this quiz.

Yes, you can answer them. But, do not post your answers here. I do not want people who are taking this quiz to get the answers(or maybe wrong answers) from other people. Either save them and wait for the answer key to be posted by me, OR, pm your answers to me and I will mark them. I will not be giving back marked work until the day the exam is given.

The sad thing is, some people actually put that on their card.

lol, to tell you the truth, alot of it like "stop the attack and send it back at them" was taken from cards I had previously read.

 

Okay I'll get to answering them soon, I'll need to clean out my inbox, it's like almost full, XD. Nevermind I'm thinking of DGEmu.com. Are we allowed to make multiple cards for the first question?

Nope, only 1 card for question #1.

Yup, if you want.

 

Why do we need the real exam to be released to know what marks we got?

Because I like to have control over other people, lol. Seriuouisly though, I want all the pre-exams to be given back at once so answers are not given away. This quiz was meant to help people. I'm waiting until the exam day so that as many people as possible can take this quiz.

I will be send a pm to each person who sent their pre-exam to me with the marks they got from each question.

 

Next, here is the percentage of each participant:

ScoreBoard.jpgZaloog91 will be getting a rep for having the highest percentage adn Oplo will be getting a rep for being the only one to get the bonus question right.

 

Here is the answer key:

 

1. Basically, if you created the card as the directions said, you got 2 points. I would only deduct points if the card was horribly overpowered or had to many wording mistakes. This was just a test so I could see how creative you were.

 

2. The answer is “B”, because to be “malevolent” means to be wishing ill to others. So naturally, the darker more evil looking is the correct choice. I chose the word malevolent to see if anyone would confuse the word with “benevolent”. You got 1 mark for answering the question right and another if you answered it right for the correct reason.

 

3. Though this question was out of only 2 marks, you get these two marks by mentioning any of the following: No cost, no restriction or requirement, shouldn’t be a Normal Spell, comparing it to future fusion, etc.

 

4. Simple yes or no question, only worth 1 mark.

 

5. Translations did not need to be spot on.

 

Answers:

a. “When this card attacks, return it to its owner’s hand. When a monster attacks, by discarding this card from your hand, negate the attack and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of that monster. If you have 3 copies of this card removed from play, you win the duel.”

 

b. “This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by tributing all monsters you control.”

 

6. The answer is “C”, because the other three pictures are all pictures of Knights while picture C was a Samurai.

 

The Bonus Question: We’ll all me making the card together, of coarse.
