My First Decent Attempt at a Sig

There's a few mistakes in the second one, but I don't have very good programs here at work.

 

Oh, I used a tut in combo with CS3, Gimp, and Paint.net (for various touch-ups).

 

Comments/suggestions for improvement would be helpful.

Not too bad to be quite honest. However the background could use some work, there are a few tutorials for that sort of thing on DA. Blending isn't too bad at all either, and that is always hard to do. First border is much more better since the second is way too thick. The best thing you want to do is to start looking for tutorials for Beginners, and also look for ones for these things...

lol, Photoshop IS the best program and if you have it then you should delete everything else including GIMP and Paint.net and even Paint.

No, just no Shini and Cyber. Telling him to read more tutorials doesn't help, you should tell him WHAT tutorials to look at like I did. And Shini V1 border does not suck, that is actually a decent border.

well any tut he reads helps him, even if i dont like the outcome i see the tut cause i'm sure i will learn 1 or 2 new tricks. At this stage ANY tut he reads will help him.

i suggest making a folder and saving every tut you read, it helps you if you feel uncreative and also if you learnt something but forgot it.
