Code Vermillion
I've quickly fallen in love with the Ragnaraika Archetype, and have been playing it A LOT. Found a guy in my area doing the same and we have been spit-balling ideas and wants for the deck. I threw together a couple cards today and wanted to get input and some help fleshing them out. I've always been in the middle of casual and meta, so I'm not the best with PSCT but I'm trying! A lot of what's here was snagged from existing cards and altered as needed. Summoning Dance is literally a copy paste of Branded Fusion, with edits to specify Link and tri-type. It's meant to be a boost in 1-card openings as no variation of Ragnaraika has a 1 card opening yet. It's also Ash bait, so you can hard play seed, or visa-versa, just like with Fallen of Albaz. Burial Dance was an idea just to give a searchable Crow type effect, as Crow is something I've been talking about in my circle a lot lately. Basically just ripped Ragnaraika Hunting Dance for it. Rising Tide was meant to be part starter part extender, and was made a while after I made the Kodama card that comes next. She's a lot like Snake Eye Ash in a lot of ways and her intended us, but offers a few different things. Rising Tide and Kodama have a bit of synergy, but also a bit not so much as Rising Tide's tribute effect doesn't matter if Kodama specials itself. She's more intended to grab Seed, or whatever piece you need. If you already have that piece though, grab Kodama so he can do Kodama things, and then use her effect to summon whatever else you have in hand. Kodama is definitely clunky given the other cards I made after him, so he's likely to get reworked. But I made him when Sharks got their own Poplar, and said screw it, why not Raika too? lol Forest was my first attempt at a field spell and is definitely not the best card I've designed. I really just wasn't sure what I wanted it to do and feel it's thematically all over and just not what the deck needs right now. Other than the protection effect. They do need that. Mutation Dance was meant to be somewhat inspired by mask change, or any other tag out kind of card. It really helps get you to Seed, and force certain effects to be live for the different Ragnaraika littles. The quickplay aspect was meant to dodge targeting to protect things like seed from imperm, but that may be a bit much in terms of overtuning the card.
