OMG! Why do we have to give credit for the images we use in our cards now? It's not like we're using someone else's images to make cards to make a profit or anything. We're just using them to make cards for fun.

 

And it's not even like we have to give credit to the person who made it. We just can't take credit for someone else's images. So, by saying "I didn't make the image used for this card" is fine? That's stupid and pointless. We all know most of the people who make cards aren't making their images. Unless you see someone post a card like this, I think it's pretty safe to say that person didn't make the image. And if they did make the image and it looks really nice, then they would probably let you know they made the image. If I could make really nice images for cards, I'd let everyone know about the images I made.

 

I think that posting "I didn't make the image used for this card" or just not trying to take credit at all is basically the same thing. Unless I'm using someone else's images and telling everyone that I made them, I really don't think there is anything wrong.

 

Besides, if someone made an image and wanted to be selfish and not let anyone else use it, they shouldn't have uploaded it on the internet for everyone to see and take it.

 

What are your opinions about this? And If you don't agree with me on this, then that's fine. Say you don't agree all you want. Just don't be rude about it in this thread.

Really the members of DA got pissed off at us (YCM) for using their images so God Kaze made a rule where you have to give credit to the member or you have to ask their permission to use it. Their was a thread about this somewhere wait.

Yeah, well, what can they do to us? If we're only making the images for fun, and we're not making a profit off of them, or claiming the images as our own, then we haven't done anything wrong.

Actually it is theft of artwork if you don't credit them, so yes we kinda are, and if the site gets shut down because of idiots like you, then don't start complaining, sheesh if there is a rule just follow it, if you don't like it then go somewhere else.

1. I'm not an idiot, and for you to call me one for having an opinion shows how mature you are.

 

2. "...if you don't like it then go somewhere else." That line's been used before and I'm pretty sure you didn't make it up. So, you're stealing someone else's words without giving credit to them. That's called plagiarism. And if you don't agree that you're plagiarizing by saying that, then you shouldn't agree that I'm stealing someone else's images when I use them in a card.

 

3. Do I not have a right to my opinion? This is the QUESTIONS, Comments, Suggestions forum. Am I not allowed to ask a question here?

Second of all, wtf are you on about I could say every word you have said is copied from someone else, written stories and the likes have been created by someone else whereas simple quotes and setences are another thing all together, so again GTFO.

 

Thirdly you are not asking a question, you are whining that the rules are unfair, therefore your total side to this arguement is NULL. Hey Titus, is it really that hard to post image credits? If it is, then that would mean you are just being lazy. And if you have pics on your computer that you saved a while ago and can't remember who owns them, then just don't use the pic, or look for it online again to see who made it.

1. I never said you couldn't argue your opinion back. I was talking about how rude you were. Which brings us to #2.

For the first quote...you called me an idiot, before you knew anything about me. How exactly is that not rude? And for the second quote...I'm being a stuck up child? Ok, I never said I wasn't going to do it, which would be the "stuck up" part, and I'm not a child.

Well, what if I crop an image someone else made to use in my cards? Am I not stealing because I'm only using part of the image?

5. I really don't recall calling you "immature". I remember saying "...shows how mature you are.", but I never actually called you "immature". And so far, you've called me an idiot and a stuck up kid, when I haven't called you any names at all.

 

6. I get it now. You've proven your point, even though you acted like you did in doing so. We credit the images because that site may get shut down if you don't, and you still want to be friends with DA. See, now I answered that in 1 sentence. It took you 4 paragraphs, along with criticism towards me, for you to say that. But anyway, it was fun. I like debates (or fights...whatever you call it) like this. I would have liked it more without the name calling, but still. Hope we can move on from this.

You don't get my point. Did you even read my whole post? It's not that I don't remember who made the images on my old cards, it's that I don't know who makes the images on ANY of my cards. I find all my pics on Google or PhotoBucket. And the rules for posting cards is that you don't actually have to give credit to the person making them, you just have to not claim the image as your own. So, if I say "I don't claim the images in my cards as my own," then I'm fine. So that's pointless. And I'm NOT lazy. Lazy's got nothing to do with it. I already have the disclaimer in my sig, which shows up on all my posts, so lazy isn't a factor in this. My point was merely that it's pointless if we're not forced to give credit as long as say we don't claim the images.

Yes you did indeed ask a question, but that attitude was uncalled for, you would not like it if you made something, put it up to get people's opinions much like GFX artists like myself do, then have someone put it on there signature, card and not even say it was made by you, which is the reason for it, not to mention having other sites report us.

Where the @$%# did "Baka" come from? And saying something, and meaning something is two completely different things. If you said I was BEING a child, that means you're saying I AM a child. Fine then. Here is my opinion of you. I think you're a jerk. I think you don't think before you talk to people. You're annoying. I think you are very immature. And, I think you're the idiot here. Ok, you are getting really aggravating. You just keep changing the subject so you can have something to fire back at me. You said I wasn't asking a question, so I pointed out 3 questions I asked. THEN, instead of admitting you were wrong, or even defending yourself, you try to find another fault in me so you don't look bad. AND HOW DID I HAVE AN ATTITUDE?! All I did was ask why we had to put credits for the pics we use! If you see an attitude in that, then your senses are impaired. I never said I wouldn't give credit, and I never complained about doing it. I only asked WHY WE HAD TO and why I thought it was pointless.

 

And you are COMPLETELY missing my point! Pay attention to the next thing I say, because I'm getting sick of saying it! I'll even put it in bold for you. I am not saying giving credit to people for their art is pointless and stupid. I'm saying that being able to just put "I do not claim these images as my own" instead of giving credit is pointless.
