Quekest
Hi everyone! Below is my custom Archetype Darkflower, a mid-range/control deck aiming to lock up your opponent's board with useless cards while also burning/hitting over for game. Darkflower monsters are centered around the idea of parasitic plants, organisms that absorb nutrients from a host, often alive, damaging them in the process. This is achieved in game by equipping the opponent's card to them, and through the use of the field card (Garden of Parasites) filling your opponent's field with this now useless cards. The types of equipped cards provide different nutrients, causing the monster to gain different effects based on the type(s) equipped. Each Main Deck monster is based on a flower that is or can be Red/Pink, while the Fusion Monsters have become sentient and mobile (hence the humanoid artwork) and are based on Red/Pink poisonous flowers. Compounding on that, the spell/trap card of the archetype are all types of substrate/dirt the plants can grow in, and also can be equipped. Lastly, the Fusion Spells/Trap all contain types of pollination, which can lead to the hybridization (aka Fusion) of the various flowers. Each Fusion monster, with 2 exceptions, require a specific Darkflower Main Deck monster as one of the Fusion Materials, and has one or more effect that is similar, but more powerful than it's Main Deck progenitor. As stated above, this archetype is designed to play as a mid-range/control deck. Its strengths are the potential number of once per turns it can throw out, though it requires some forethought into which cards you will equip to which monster. It also has a decent amount of recursion, and as a control deck, can negate some effects/summons and lock up your opponent's board. Its weaknesses include limited protection, especially from non targeting/non-destruction effects, and the fusion spells are vulnerable to interruption, leaving the player with a less than ideal board. Also, you are limited in the number of Zones available for placing equipped card (even more so without the field spell). However, the deck do have the capacity to make a moderate number of plays during the opponent's turn. So, without further ado, here come the Darkflowers. Main Deck Monsters: Darkflower Bud Lvl 1 DARK Plant/Effect If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: you can add 1 "Darkflower Pollination" or 1 "Darkflower Cross Pollination" or "Darkflower Artificial Pollination" from your Deck to your hand. I am a returning player to the game and have been floored with the power-creep in the game, so I wanted to try my hand at creating something with today's power level in mind. I may have over done it, so please let me know what you think. Especially, with the field spell. I keep seeing crazy powerful field spells for archetypes that seem to do everything for a deck, but this still feels pretty strong. Also, I used AI for the art, which I know has been known to "borrow" people art, so if something you see is yours; 1) I'm sorry, and 2) let me know and I will do my best to edit the card and this post. Thanks everyone, I had a blast making these and I may do more in the near future with connecting lore. Quek/Quekest

Rongaulius
13 hours ago, eseer said: Roughly 65% of this art looks like it came from a Kikuo video. It's all AI-generated. AI images tend to look uncanny, because they're mostly right but there's still something off about them to our brain, even though we may not be able to figure out what it is at first. To the OP, this deck is more or less a clunkier repeat of Predaplant; Plant monsters that parasitize an opponent's cards and like to Fusion summon. Your Fusions have the major weakness of requiring Equip Cards in order to do anything on-field, where Predaplant can field any number of powerful Fusions that can heavily impact the board but don't need equip cards to work.
