KH911
I've been playing a lot of Abyss Actors on Duel Links recently and I decided to make some cards that I would like to see in this archetype. Also the art is not great because it's AI generated but it's better than nothing: Quote Abyss Actors relying on the opponent to destroy the set Abyss Scripts really sucks. They have Comic Relief and the field spell to help with that, but they're not enough so I decided to give them an extra tool to do so. As for the second effect, I was thinking of something that they don't have access to and fits the "Betrayal" theme. This also seems in-line with the power level of the other Abyss Scripts so it shouldn't be too crazy. Abyss Script - Unexpected Betrayal Quick-play Spell Give control of 1 "Abyss Actor" monster you control to your opponent, then that monster activates this effect: Your opponent destroys 1 set card they control. If this Set card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect, and you have a face-up "Abyss Actor" Pendulum Monster in your Extra Deck: Take control of 1 monster your opponent controls. You can only use 1 effect of "Abyss Script - Unexpected Betrayal" per turn and only once that turn. Quote I also noticed there's 0 ways of searching the field spell. That's right, a big fat 0. Half the cards in this archetype search, either Abyss Actor or Abyss Script, but some genius at Konami made the field spell have neither of those in the name so it can't be searched (same problem as Wagon but that one's not important). I made this search any "Abyss Playhouse" card on the off chance that Abyss Actors get another field spell, it would also be searchable with this. The second effect provides some much needed spell/trap removal since their only form of removal only hits face-up cards. Abyss Script - Surprise Release Quick-play Spell If you control an "Abyss Actor" monster: Activate 1 "Abyss Playhouse" card from your deck. If this Set card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect, and you have a face-up "Abyss Actor" Pendulum Monster in your Extra Deck: Destroy all spells and traps your opponent controls. Quote Spoiler warning, one of the cards is a fusion monster and this is the fusion spell for it. I made it a regular polymerization for any Fiend Fusion monster, but with an added benefit if used to summon an Abyss Actor monster. I wanted the second effect to interact with the extra deck so it's still fits the theme of "Fusion", and originally I was gonna make it banish a card from opponent's extra deck, then realized that effect already exists on another Abyss Script. So instead it recovers some of your Abyss Actors. Abyss Script - Awaited Reunion Normal Spell Fusion summon 1 Fiend monster using monsters from your hand or field as material, including cards in your pendulum zones. If summoning an "Abyss Actor" monster this way, you can shuffle cards from your face-up extra deck into your deck as material. If this Set card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect, and you have a face-up "Abyss Actor" Pendulum Monster in your Extra Deck: Add any number of "Abyss Actor" monsters from your face-up extra deck to your hand. Quote This guy is the star of the show. Being level 1 means he can be summoned with Trendy Understudy (a trend you're going to be seeing...I'll see myself out). He's a tuner (there's a synchro if you haven't guessed), and he can place any Abyss Actor in your extra deck to copy it's level. This not only enables your Abyss Scripts' floating effects, it acts as a "search" and also level modulation. After synchroing this guy off, he scales himself, which allows you to then fusion summon with his effect. He's one of those "1 card that does everything" but not really because you still need to have other synchro/fusion materials to make use of him. The name refers to how he can "copy" the other Actors using his make-up. Abyss Actor - Make-up Artist Dark / Level 1 Fiend / Tuner / Pendulum / Effect 9 [Pendulum Effect] 9 Once per turn: You can fusion summon 1 Fiend fusion monster using pendulum summoned monsters from either field as material. [Monster Effect] If this card is summoned: You can add 1 "Abyss Actor" from your deck to your extra deck; this card's level becomes that monster's level. If this card would go to your face-up extra deck, you can place it in your pendulum zone instead. Quote Now for the real meat of this post: the extra deck monsters. One thing Abyss Actors does really well is mess with the opponent's extra deck. Fire Dragon's Lair lets you banish 3 cards from the opponent's extra deck every time the targeted Abyss Actor battles a monster (doesn't even need to win the battle). Twinkle Little Star lets your monster attack 3 times, so by combining these you get to banish 9. Romantic Couple is meant to expand on this part of the Abyss Actor identity, all the while triggering your monster's destruction effects. The scales are 0 and 9 just because I really want pendulum monsters that have different scales based on where they're placed and a couple really fits the theme for that (also 0 and 9 are the best scales for Abyss Actor). I made it a level 8 so it can summoned using Trendy Understudy. Since a fusion monster is a combination of two things, and Abyss Actors are based on actors and cliche characters, a Romantic Couple was the only logical conclusion. The stats are a combination of Evil Heel's ATK and Mellow Madonna's DEF, because Dramatic Story shows Evil Heel and Mellow Madonna dancing together. Abyss Actor - Romantic Couple Dark / Level 8 Fiend / Fusion / Pendulum / Effect 0 [Pendulum Effect] 9 Once per turn: You can destroy 1 "Abyss Actor" monster; special summon 1 "Abyss Actor" monster with a different name from your deck. [Monster Effect] 2 "Abyss Actor" monsters If this card is special summoned: You can destroy any number "Abyss Actor" cards you control; randomly send to the GY an equal number of cards from your opponent's extra deck. You can only use this effect of "Abyss Actor - Romantic Couple" once per turn. If this card is destroyed, you can place it in your pendulum zone. Quote This is the Synchro monster. She provides a negate, which Abyss Actors have 0 access to, but it's not the generic dumb omni-negate, instead it only negates your opponent's face-up monsters for the turn. Making this first thing is akin to DRNM with a body, but the opponent can respond and you actually have to spend resources to make this. If it goes through, you're free to combo as much as you want (which is frankly not very much but their combos are scary, like the Fire Dragon's Lair combo I mentioned earlier). I chose this name since an Opera Singer can disoriented/disable the enemy with their singing, so it fits the effect. The reasoning for making her level 8 is the same as the previous card. Since this card is a boardwide negate meant to allow you to set up, I didn't want her to also be threatening your LP (looking at you Baronne/Accesscode/Apollousa/Borreload...holy hell this list never ends). The stat total is the exact same as Romantic Couple, except this one's got a fat booty. Abyss Acter - Opera Singer Dark / Level 8 Fiend / Synchro / Pendulum / Effect 0 [Pendulum Effect] 9 Once per turn: You can destroy 1 "Abyss Actor" monster; negate the effect of 1 monster your opponent controls. [Monster Effect] 1 Fiend tuner + 1 "Abyss Actor" monster If this card is special summoned: You can make all monsters your opponent controls lose 200 ATK for each "Abyss Actor" card you control and negate their effects until the end phase. This effect of "Abyss Actor - Opera Singer" can only be used once per turn. When this card is destroyed, you can place it in your pendulum zone.
