WhiteThunder777
Now that you have made an idea for your custom archetype and what it wants to do (i.e. figuring out its intricate mechanics and what it wants to do), how do you go about Deck Building and testing it? Well, here's the way to do that, and it's here. Just to let you know, some custom card servers let you play with archetypes other people have made, which is a good thing. Let's start off with Invoked as Invoked as an example. The Invoked engine is all about normal summoning Aliester and invoking the fusion monsters through the Invocation Spell. Hence, you would run 3 Aliester, 2-3 Invocation, 3 Magical Meltdown as a starting point. As this example shows, anything that you want in your hand must be ran at 3 copies. What the example shows us is if you want to build and play test an archetype, you need to find that archetype's searchers within the archetype itself (or look outside for them). The archetype's searchers are what you want in your hand, hence they must be ran at 3 copies. Keep in mind that searchers are the one gathering resources from your Deck to your hand. You'd also want extenders as well should your opponent dare to attempt to disrupt your play. Like the Invoked example, look for what resource(s) you want to have in your hand. The opposite is true for other cards in the custom archetype - if the card does not help your strategy or is too situational to use, those cards must be ran at less than 3 copies each. Now for the Extra Deck - keep in mind that the Extra Deck monsters are like monsters that you wished you had in your main deck. Now that you have searched for the resources that you have, you'd want variety in your Extra Deck, hence some cards in the Extra Deck shouldn't be ran at 3 copies. Those that are easy to get out can (but keep them at 2-3 copies at best). Those with harsher summoning requirements should be ran at 0-1 copies at best. This is because the Extra Deck has only 15 available spaces. Deck building can be complicated in some cases, and it's not always the same for other custom archetypes. If anyone wants wants to add onto this, please feel free to.
WhiteThunder777
In some cases, you will see that an archetype can be paired up with another archetype. Look at Invoked Eldich as an example. Eldlich uses a lot of spells and traps with GY effects so Mechaba not only negates your opponent's cards, it also helps set up your GY as well. Cynet Mining is for Cyberse based custom archetypes as they discard 1 card to help set up your plays for Cyberse based strategies. Cynet backdoor is for Cyberse that prefer to banish themselves. Reinforcement of the army is for Warrior based Decks. It searches any level 4 or lower warrior monster.
