Hydra Essence

Little idea I had for a hand trap based on the hydras from the myth of the Second Labor of Heracles. Basically, it's a hand trap that brings out hydra tokens at a hefty LP cost. But they get bigger stats the more of them there are on the field at once. Spawning new ones during the End Phase, if other hydra tokens have been destroyed earlier in the turn, doesn't come with a LP cost. But it all hinges on keeping the hand trap in your hand. If it leaves your hand, all the tokens are destroyed, and it will cost you a LP fortune to bring them back out afresh again, even if you can get the hand trap back in your hand.

Attribute: WATER

Level: 8

ATK/DEF: 3000/2500

Effect: Once per turn, during the Standby Phase: You can reveal this card in your hand, and if you do, Special Summon up to 5 "Regenerating Hydra Token(s)" (Sea Serpent/WATER/Level 7/ATK 0/DEF 0), and if you do that, pay LP equal to the number of "Regenerating Hydra Token(s)" you Summoned x1000. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if any "Regenerating Hydra Token(s)" you controlled were destroyed this turn: You can reveal this card in your hand, and if you do, Special Summon up to 5 "Regenerating Hydra Token(s)". As long as this card is in your hand: Increase the ATK of all "Regenerating Hydra Tokens" you control by the number of "Regenerating Hydra Tokens" you control x600, and increase their DEF by the number of "Regenerating Hydra Tokens" x500. If this card leaves your hand, destroy all "Regenerating Hydra Tokens" you control.

This is a very powerful card! I think it is pretty well balanced. Gives a great outlet for LP gain decks. I'm a little worried about the link climb potential, and the fact that is a one card OTK with no combo (with no disruption). Would love to see it tested!

Thanks for the feedback! I'd be happy to try and test it on Duelling Book. I'm not the best player, but I could give it a go. What other cards would you recommend for a deck to test it in?
