Atypical-Abbie
Instrumental Beast is an archetype of Trap monsters with various Types and Attributes and Levels. They also got a main archetype called Instrumental that includes 2 Pendulum Monsters, including a Synchro Pendulum. They focus on Trap monsters, Synchro Summoning and battle control. The main playstyle revolves around getting out their Level 12 boss monster, Instrumental DJ Devil which has a massive 5000 ATK/DEF, but with the little caveat that it needs a Synchro Tuner to keep these numbers and also 2+ Instrumental monsters as material, which means they have to be the Trap monsters as the other one is a Tuner itself. The name is actually a portmanteau! Yes, it's Instrument, and Elemental, but of course Instrumental is itself a word as well, so that works quite well, and they are of course monsters, specifically the art is from My Singing Monsters, ironic as these monsters are not singers, quite the opposite! Sample Deck: https://www.duelingbook.com/deck?id=10940968 Pendulum Effect: During your Main Phase, you can activate 1 "Instrumental Beast" card from your hand, but you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of the turn, except "Instrumental" monsters (you can only gain this effect one per turn.) If a "Instrumental" monster you control would be destroyed, you can destroy this card instead. You can only control 1 "Instrumental Maestro" in your Pendulum Zone. Monster Effect: This card's Attribute(s) are the Attributes of all monsters in your GY and you control. Cannot be used as material for a Synchro Summon, except when using another "Instrumental" monster as material. Except the turn this card was sent to the GY (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your GY; destroy 1 face-up Trap you control, and if you do, add to your hand OR Special Summon 1 Tuner monster from your Deck except "Instrumental Maestro". You can only use this effect of "Instrumental Maestro" once per turn. You can only control 1 "Instrumental Maestro" in your Monster Zone Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Winged Beast/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK 500/DEF 1500). (This card is also still a Trap.), then all "Instrumental" monsters you control gain 200 ATK/DEF for each monster with a different Attribute you control. If Summoned this way, while it is in the Monster Zone, the first time your opponent would declare an attack this turn, you choose the attack target. If this face-up card in the Monster Zone is destroyed: You can add 1 "Instrumental" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Instrumental Beast Piano Peacocks". You can only use this effect of "Instrumental Beast Piano Peacocks" once per turn. Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Beast/DARK/Level 2/ATK 1200/DEF 1000), then you can Set 1 other face-up Trap that is a monster you control in your Spell & Trap Zone, and if you do, you can Set 1 "Instrumental" Trap from your GY in you Spell & Trap Zone. (This card is also still a Trap.) If Summoned this way, while it is in the Monster Zone, your opponent must target this card for an attack, if able, also the first time it would be destroyed by battle each turn, it is not destroyed. If this face-up card in the Monster Zone is destroyed: You can draw 2 cards and reveal them, Set any "Instrumental Beast" cards in your Spell & Trap Zone, also place the remaining cards on the bottom of your Deck in any order. You can only use this effect of "Instrumental Beast Flue Fang" once per turn. Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Insect/EARTH/Tuner/Level 3/ATK 1400/DEF 1100), then you can immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 monster using monsters you control as material (This card is also still a Trap.) If Summoned this way, while it is in the Monster Zone, monsters your opponent control with the same Attribute as "Instrumental" monsters you control have their effects negated. If this face-up card in the Monster Zone is destroyed: You can Special Summon 1 Tuner monster from your hand or GY. You can only use this effect of "Instrumental Beast Bee Bongos" once per turn. Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Aqua/WIND/Level 4/ATK 1800/DEF 1500), then you can change the battle position of monsters on the field up to the number of "Instrumental" monsters you control with different Attributes (This card is also still a Trap.) If Summoned this way, while it is in the Monster Zone, once per turn: You can target 1 Synchro Monster you control; that target gains 500 ATK/DEF for each "Instrumental" monster you control with different Attributes until the end of this turn, also its Level becomes 4. If this face-up card in the Monster Zone is destroyed: You can Special Summon "Instrumental Tokens" (Machine/WIND/Level 2/ATK 500/DEF 500) up to the number of "Instrumental" cards you control and in your GY with different names. You can only use this effect of "Instrumental Beast Heavy Horn" once per turn. You can also discard 1 card when you activate this card; Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Sea Serpent/WATER/Level 5/ATK 1300/DEF 2400), then if you discarded a card, halve the ATK/DEF of all monsters your opponent control (This card is also still a Trap.) If Summoned this way, once per turn, while it is in the Monster Zone, if your opponent takes battle damage from another "Instrumental" monster you control: Draw 1 card. If this face-up card in the Monster Zone is destroyed: You can excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, add 1 "Instrumental" card to your hand, also place the remaining cards on the bottom of your Deck, in any order. You can only use this effect of "Instrumental Beast Drumming Draco" once per turn. You can also banish 2 "Instrumental" cards from your hand or GY when you activate this card; Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Fiend/FIRE/Level 6/ATK 2500/DEF 1500). (This card is also still a Trap.), then if you banished 2 cards, you can Set 1 "Instrumental" Trap from your hand or GY in your Spell & Trap Zone. If Summoned this way, while it is in the Monster Zone, it cannot attack, unless you control another "Instrumental" monster, and it cannot be targeted by effects. If this face-up card in the Monster Zone is destroyed: You can add 1 "Instrumental" card from your GY to your hand, except "Instrumental Beast Instrumental Beast Guitar Ghoul". You can only use this effect of "Instrumental Beast Guitar Ghoul" once per turn. Pendulum Effect: Once per turn: You can discard 1 card; this turn, you can activate Continuous Traps from your hand. Your opponent cannot Special Summon monsters in the same column as "Instrumental" monsters you control. During the End Phase, your opponent banishes any Spells/Traps in the same column as "Instrumental" monsters you control. You can only control 1 "Instrumental DJ Devil" in your Pendulum Zone. Monster Effect: 1 Tuner + 2+ non-Tuner "Instrumental" monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can add from your Deck to your hand, 1 Continuous Trap and 1 Tuner monster. Unless this card was Synchro Summoned using a Synchro Tuner monster as material, halve its ATK/DEF. If this card battles an opponent's monster with the same Attribute as an "Instrumental" monster you control, at the start of the Damage Step: You can banish that monster, then inflict damage to your opponent equal to the number of monsters you control with different Attributes x 500. If this card is destroyed: You can place it in your Pendulum Zone. You can only use each effect of "Instrumental DJ Devil" once per turn. You can only control 1 "Intstrumental DJ Devil" in your Monster Zone.
