If your using paint for those, you notice two green boxes with shapes in them on the toolbar to the left. Click the bottom one, it prevents the white from overlapping any surface, which helps with splicing.

Man i can't make maps right now cause my Pc won't let me get on the site I usually get my maps and stuff from. So if i do make one it might take awhile.

Just save that sheet and open 2 paints one for you new map and one for the sprite sheet.

and cross over using cut-paste
