Yeah, the Onix tail ruins it. Use Suicunes ribbons. That would go better with the splice.

Here's a tip when making harder splices with much editing and shading to do, or just with fakemon:

Go to "View">"Zoom">"Show thumbnail"

And you can show the grid by clicking Ctrl+G
