The arms and feed don't look like they're connected to the torso.

It could get better.

I suggest you magnafy other people's splices (see how everthing comes together).

This pokemon, though still in the pupal stage, can easily move around at high speeds by flinging itself with claws jutting from its protective casing.

 

I know I said I wouldn't do a cocoon, but this is a very active cocoon...
