TurkeySloth
I'm completely unsure were else this topic would go. I have a GoogleDocs folder to keep all of my custom Yu-Gi-Oh! cards in. The only problem is that I'm unsure how to divide the documents within that folder.

Tinkerer
I guess to answer your question, I could say what I do? I wouldn't want to tell you what to do, but it makes sense to sort things by your purpose. I personally have a ton of separate documents divided broadly into 3 folders: Custom Archetypes (document name = archetype name) Individual Custom Cards (document name = "Random Set #X") Support for Official Cards/Archetypes (document name = "X" Support) I tend to make cards for each of these groups, but I don't usually use them for anything, so there's usually no point in breaking these categories down further. If I wanted, though, I could always separate my individual cards into Monster/Spell/Trap/Extra Deck.
TurkeySloth
That makes perfect sense, actually, because YGO has several different monster subtypes (normal, etc.) that share classes (effect, etc.) where dividing the docs by subtype could make things confusing. The strucure I mentioned is a hold-over from my Magic: the Grathering repository, which works fine because of M: tG's limited selection of categories (5 colors, artifacts/colorless, and lands). Horu
Yeah. Also consider that YGO could possibly hold about 17 different templates. Not sure how you'd wanna expand on those possibilities.
TurkeySloth
I ended up using Redro's suggestion because it's the most logical thing to do. I asked because I was concerned about spltting up the different monster types in different documents, which is why I mocked up the templates in their own document after making my decision. Horu
Yeah. I do agree with Redro's method. Sorting the cards by setup is easier. Main Deck Monsters (Normal, Effect, Ritual). Extra Deck Monsters (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz*) Spell/Trap Cards Pendulum Monsters Link Monsters *Xyz has Rank instead of Level but the rest of the card is the same.
