Okay, I don't know how Crystal Beast plays, so I dunno if my initial thought is correct here, but I'ma post it anyway.

"Man, they really don't want Crystal Beast to be good, do they?"

(...so I had a couple hundred word long rant here, but I'm removing it and reserving further judgment until I read/hear some opinions from CB players.)

Oh boy, I wanted Advanced Crystal Beasts to be a thing for a while now ... which stopped a couple of years ago, since it was clear konami would not properly try to make up for the insane downside of having to run Advanced Dark (which is CBs version of Toon World).

Ruby is definitely not bad, being able to summon itself.

The others are funny, especially CB Cobalt Eagle to search the forced Field Spell.

ACB Sapphire Pegasus is funnily almost strictly inferior to the original, with its only upside being that it is a target for ACB Ruby Carbuncle and being able to grab banished monsters ... as a downside it is a Garnet without the Field Spell and cannot set up CB Rainbow Dragon (and thus cannot enable a Rainbow Dragon search + play extension) ... or the original CB Sapphire Pegasus, which could do that ...

ACB Amethyst Cat still does nothing.

ACB Emerald Tortoise would have been fine 10 years ago.

ACB Amber Mammoth contradicts itself because CB decks (or now the second option being ACB decks) do not want to end on the beasts themselves and want to end on a form of Rainbow Dragon + monsters using the beasts as summon materials.

ACB Topaz Tiger is battle reliant and thus only something one should occasionally fall back on ...

I really do not see how minor improvements on the Crystal Beasts (with the exception of Pegasus, which is worse than the original) would be worth having them be Garnet-like bricks, unless one activates their equivalent of Toon World (being a blank card without meaningful text that has to be up to do anything) ...

That being said Toons did eventually get Toon Kingdom, so we might get an Advanced Dark retrain (maybe in a couple of years as legacy support) and that one would be up to modern standards, rather than Mountain/Forest levels of pointless.

I must say I am massively disappointed they wasted valuable Crystal Beasts slots on this garbage, rather than cards such as Golden Rule, which at the very least have potential.

EN Shuffle on the other hand is really good, being able to tutor Stratos, Dark Mist and Spirit of Neos.

Basically it is a (-1) on activation to tutor a monster that immediately enables a search.
