Black D'Sceptyr
Hello all - and here is the first of my massive original archetype dumps. That, of course, is the reason I've been taking so long to get back to a regular schedule here. However, I did want to set the same example that Kanashimi has - the sheer creativity, the impressive volume of inspiration, and especially the wonderful mechanic playwork. That is the center of the reason of why I'm back here, that's why I wanted to be as active as I could be, and that's why I've been so careful with how my first custom Archetype of 2022 would play out. So enjoy this group of monsters based around an egg girl and her giant creator god goose. ___________________ The Yolklore are a group of WATER Aqua and EARTH Plant monsters based around eggs and the various dishes that use and/or complement them. They a rather unique application of flipping - see, the Plants have effects centered around their battle position being changed to generate advantage and take it away from your opponent in equal measure, as well as a common effect to flip face-up cards face-down and face-down monsters face-up. Of course, the Aqua monsters follow a different but supplementary tack - being different forms of the Banquet's head Gengenwer, who specializes in egg-including dishes of all kinds, and the creator god that brought - or rather, goosed - their franchise into being, they center around Special Summoning and increasing amounts of control based around making and banishing face-down cards. For more, let's turn to the spoiler tag, and see just what this breakfast-baking battalion is cooking up. Great Honker's Guard/Counter Trap Card Lore: Activate 1 of these effects. ● If a Spell/Trap Card or effect is activated, while you control a "Yolklore" monster: Negate the activation, and if you do, banish it. ● When the effect of a monster your opponent controls is activated, and you control a Level 10 Aqua monster: Negate the activation, then, if you currently control "Yolklore Yondue Gengenwei", you can Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster (WATER/Aqua/ Level 3) with the same ATK and DEF as that opponent's monster. (This is NOT treated as a Trap.) Until the next card, folks, may the reviews and revelry arrive in abundance. D'Sceptyr, signing off.
