Tinkerer
The Crystal Beast Token arrives, so now you only have to play 6 names. SD44-JP017 Hougyoku no Kago (Gem Protection) / Crystal Protection Normal Spell You can only use the 2nd effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) Target 1 “Crystal Beast” Monster Card you control; destroy it, then Special Summon 1 “Crystal Beast Token” with the same original Type, Attribute, Level, and ATK/DEF. (2) If a “Crystal Beast” card(s) is placed in your Spell & Trap Zone and this card is in your GY (even during the Damage Step): You can banish this card; Special Summon 1 “Crystal Beast” Monster Card from your Spell & Trap Zone. SD44-JP032 Hougyoku no Shukufuku (Gem Blessing) / Crystal Grace Normal Trap You can only use the 2nd effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) Special Summon up to 2 “Crystal Beast” Monster Cards from your Spell & Trap Zones, and if you do, gain LP equal to their total original ATK. (2) If a “Crystal Beast” card(s) is placed in your Spell & Trap Zone while this card is in your GY (even during the Damage Step): You can banish this card; excavate the top card of your Deck, and if it is a “Crystal Beast” monster, either add it to your hand or Special Summon it. Otherwise, send it to the GY. SD44-JP033 Hougyoku no Kiseki (Gem Miracle) / Crystal Miracle Counter Trap You can only use the 2nd effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) When a Spell/Trap Card, or monster effect, is activated: Destroy 1 “Crystal Beast” card you control, and if you do, negate the activation, and if you do that, destroy that card. (2) If a “Crystal Beast” card(s) is placed in your Spell & Trap Zone while this card is in your GY (even during the Damage Step): You can banish this card; place 1 “Crystal Beast” monster from your hand, Deck, or GY face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell. The Highlander
Crystal Miracle looks useful, especially to protect Ultimate Crystal Magic if one wants to take that route. Crystal Protection and Crystal Grace are sad wastes of their amazing artworks on less than mediocre cards. Nvm on Crystal Protection, I actually missed that Crystal Beasts in one's Spell/Trap Card Zones are viable targets for the first effect, which actually means the card has potential. (Crystal Grace on the other hand is irredeemably bad)
Sleepy
Nice that the token card says "Monster Card". If I got this right, according to the newer-ish texts meant for Pendulums, when something like that says "Monster Card" instead of "monster", it means it can target it even it is not in monster mode at the moment. Even so, I'm not a huge fan of having to pop your card for the Token. It is alright but it isn't one I'd particularly search for among all the options we got. With Carbuncle, Pegasus and Dragon, plus this card now, I guess the remaining 5 original CBs are gonna have to fight for the 3 remaining name slots needed..... That is, if something doesn't come out that makes the Pendulums more worthwhile and steals further pushes the OG CBs out..... nah, having Scales means they aren't Continuous Spells so they just nerf the potential of the board for no real reason..... Crystal Grace sounds pretty good... it is essentially x2 Crystal Promise with LP gain... Though it is a Trap and that on its own might be enough to overkill it. The excavating effect I'm not impressed by since they don't even wanna run all members of the archetype to begin with and don't exactly like milling either. Omni-negate Trap for Crystal Beasts. Seems for a while now just being a walking Solemn is no longer really enough of warranting of a real cost, and even gets a nice recharge bonus for the S/T CBs..... it'll depend on the nature of the build, I personally use CBs as Xyz/Link spam engines and drop Rainbow Dragon for free once all that stuff cycles out.... but it is a casual build. I can still perfectly see people not even bothering with running the og Rainbow Dragon seeing how it is the culprit of hindering the deckbuilding by forcing extra members that otherwise kinda suck into the deck..... and space is tight if one does that.
