The archetype kind of contradicts itself and since all the Lafish monsters are already FIRE monsters, the field spell is pretty pointless. It wold be a pretty good archetype IF all the monsters were WATER to start with instead of FIRE.

The archetype kind of contradicts itself and since all the Lafish monsters are already FIRE monsters, the field spell is pretty pointless. It would be a pretty good archetype IF all the monsters were WATER to start with instead of FIRE. The "WATER Lafish" Effects are supposed to be extraordinarily powerful only activatable under the condition you have the field spell or made them WATER. Edit: I don't think I explained this well. The objective of this archetype was to make FIRE Fish, a non-existing combination. I settled on trying to make a FIRE deck playable with all the other WATER cards out there. The effects that specifically require "WATER Lafish" monsters would be extraordinarily powerful if they weren't harder to work. I tried to make the deck have an easy to access field spell to allow powerful abilities similar to how the Salamangreat field spell ensures their gimmick. I even made it Zefra like touching on other bridge archetypes, like the under supported Aquactress/Aquarium and Aqua FIRE Suships! If you thought it was underpowered before, I did add some link monsters that tie it together a little. I applied most of the fixes you brought up. Funny misunderstanding "Lafish fEEL" is the name and it is a regular spell.
Tinkerer
I read through these and I will admit, I'm also kinda confused. I mean, I understand it mechanically, but I have trouble seeing how effective it would be as a strategy. ...then again, maybe I'm just tired... been a long week. Retribution has "Lavish" in its effect instead of "Lafish" Kinda curious why Swordfish has 2000 ATK. I know stats are losing more and more meaning every day, but a Level 1 with 2k ATK, no summon conditions, and only positive effects is still at least a few years out, dontcha think? xD Is Scholar just meant to destroy without negating? It is interesting that it can get a Spell/trap/monster on the field during turn 0, but it doesn't feel like enough of a benefit over ghost ogre. Of the mixed archetypal lafishes, imo the only one that feels like it really benefits the other deck is the aquaactress one. Marincess can't actually summon the Marincess link and the suship one requires very odd deckbuilding that would probably be redundant in a Suship deck. I guess the most interesting card to me is the field spell since it opens up ANY generic WATER support card to double as FIRE support. I can't think of/find any really broken interactions, but stuff like Moray of Greed (alongside Lafish fEEL), Salvage, White Howling, and (just to be silly) High Tide on Fire Island seems like they could be decent. It negates, I worded it poorly probably, but it says negate. Of the mixed archetypal lafishes, imo the only one that feels like it really benefits the other deck is the aquaactress one. Well, I tried to modify that one at least a bit. The Suship might be a little forced, but it's where I want it to be? I might remove the water restriction entirely. I guess the most interesting card to me is the field spell since it opens up ANY generic WATER support card to double as FIRE support. :). Literally only way I could think of making FIRE Fish work without a full separate category. I think allowing WATER to support FIRE would really just make Yugioh awesome. I can't think of/find any really broken interactions, but stuff like Moray of Greed (alongside Lafish fEEL), Salvage, White Howling, and (just to be silly) High Tide on Fire Island seems like they could be decent. Yeah! I was wondering if there were any other Fish with rekindling stats that would be affected by the field spell in GY to. High Tide on Fire Island is especially interesting, but I'm having trouble understanding it. I'm planning to make one high level (7) main deck monster "Sous Chef" that can be special summoned from hand by returning 3 banished Fish to deck or GY by banishing 5 FIRE monsters from GY, and banishes up to 3 monsters from the GY to activate his effect: draw one discard one for each Fish, Destroy card on the field for each WATER, place card on top or bottom of deck (owner's choice) from either GY or Banished for each FIRE
