Redundant Vanilla Weaklings Support

My goal: to make those old vanilla monsters with crappy stats kind of useful, whilst still letting them participate in the battle phase in a big way.

Spell - Continuous

Apply the following effects to face-up Normal monsters you control, which are Level 6 and have an original ATK of 2200 or less, Level 5 and have an original ATK of 2000 or less, or Level 4 and have an original ATK of 1500 or less, or Level 3 and have an original ATK of 1200 or less.
* Whenever these monster(s) would be destroyed by battle, or would leave the field by card effect: You can discard 1 Level 1 or Level 2 Normal monster, and if you do, your monster remains on the field.
* Whenever you would take battle damage from battle(s) involving these monster(s): You can discard 1 Level 1 or Level 2 Normal monster, and if you do, reduce the battle damage to 0.
* Double any battle damage inflicted to your opponent by these monster(s).
* If your opponent controls no face-up Normal Monster(s): These monster(s) can attack your opponent directly.

Really cool idea! I wish the second effect applied automatically if you've activated the first effect previously that turn.
