Black D'Sceptyr
Alrighty then, time to start looking a the Archetypes of 2021-22 of wonderful warblers that don't fold to a simple Artifact ferried out by Dagda that holds a scythe. For now, it's time to focus on the wonderful warbler of our time... that fold to a to a simple artifact ferried out by Dagda that holds a lance. Floowander has been a rather on-off affinity with me. The design is attractively unique, but the throttling of its name, while understandable, grates on my nerves - and my tongue - like nothing else. The mechanic is amazing for its time, a way to Normal Summon ladder that doesn't feel as fragile as Yosenjus or a s hand-reliant as Monarchs, but due to the heavy banish focus and need for proper field prescene, is also shockingly easy to game. For me, when it came to support this, I always seek to broaden the archetype's options rather than its ceiling . Empen and Snowl are plently good endgame figures, but the reliance on them to get to the backrow does leave me feeling a bit cold. So to that hand, here's two one-Tribute monsters for these sapphire soarers, and the pair of Spell/Trap Cards to help give them a nest to fall on. Floowandereeze & Flokk/WIND/Winged Beast-Type Effect Monster/Level 7/2300 ATK/1400 DEF Lore: You can Tribute Summon this card by Tributing 1 WIND Winged Beast monster. If this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 "Floowandereeze" card from your Deck to the GY, then immediately after this effect resolves, you can Normal Summon 1 monster. While this Tribute Summoned card is in the Monster Zone, your opponent can only Set 1 card per turn. (Quick Effect): You can banish 1 card from your hand; banish 1 Set card on the field. Floowandereeze and Familee/WATER/Winged Beast-Type Effect Monster/Level 7/2500 ATK/1200 DEF Lore: You can Tribute Summon this card by Tributing 1 WATER Winged Beast monster. (Quick Effect): You can Tribute this card from your hand or return this Tribute Summoned card you control to the hand; all Winged Beast monsters will be unaffected by the effects of other cards in this Chain. While this Tribute Summoned card is on the field, skip your opponent's Main Phase 2. Once per turn: You can banish 1 card from your hand; draw 1 card. Floowandereeze and the Meridian Muse/Quick-Play Spell Card Lore: If a Normal Spell/Trap Card or effect is activated: Banish 1 "Floowandereeze" card from your hand or face-up field, except "Floowandereeze and the Meridian Muse", and if you do, negate the activation, and if you do that, look at your opponent's Extra Deck and either banish 1 card in it or that negated card. You can only activate 1 "Floowandereeze and the Meridian Muse" per turn. Floowandereeze and the Swooping Summit/Normal Trap Card Lore: Immediately after this effect resolves, Tribute Summon 1 Level 7 or higher Winged Beast monster, and if it is a "Floowandereeze" monster, you can banish 1 card from each GY instead of Tributing (it is still treated as a Tribute Summon). If you control no cards, you can activate this card from your hand. You can banish this card from your GY: this turn, your opponent cannot activate monster effects in response to your "Floowandereeze" monster effects. You can only use each effect of "Floowandereeze and the Swooping Summit" once per turn. Until the next card, folks, may the reviews and revelry arrive in abundance. D'Sceptyr, signing off.
